Extremely disappointing experience with Ambient Solutions…read more We purchased a brand-new HVAC system from Ambient expecting that we were investing in a reliable system and professional support. Unfortunately, we have experienced problems with the system essentially since it was installed, and the lack of follow-through from Ambient has been just as frustrating as the equipment issues themselves. During the summer, our AC completely stopped working during very hot weather. We contacted their 24-hour service, and although the technician who responded was professional, the system was not repaired. We continued having problems afterward, including the AC being unable to maintain the temperature set on the thermostat. On August 7, after already going two weeks without contact from Ambient, I reached out again and explained that the system was still not working properly. I specifically told them that on warmer days the house would remain 3-5 degrees above the requested temperature and gave them a real example: at 8:00 PM it was still 75° inside with the thermostat set to 70°. I also explained that we had been dealing with problems since installation and that the system had never worked correctly. That August 7 message was our last communication with Ambient. As of September 21, we have received no response, no follow-up, and no resolution. This isn't an old HVAC system that has reached the end of its life. This is a system we purchased new from Ambient, and we have been trying to get the problems addressed since it was installed. We gave them multiple opportunities to correct the situation and continued trying to work with them rather than immediately going elsewhere. At this point, the most disappointing part isn't simply that a new system has had problems--equipment can have issues. It's that the company that sold and installed it has failed to follow through and has now gone more than six weeks without responding to our last request for help. We paid for a new, properly functioning HVAC system and expected the company that installed it to stand behind its work. Based on our experience so far, that has not happened.

We decided to go with summit for a few reasons. Extremely competitive pricing. Friendly, honest, respectful people. Demonstration of product knowledge. No attempt to over sale, over size, or roll in unnecessary solutions for our situation. Summit fit us in and was able to get out to our place real fast. We got a quote a couple days later. We have been doing our research so had plenty of questions for them. They gave honest and timely answers. This really bolstered our confidence in them. When it came to install, they showed up on time and were really respectful of our house and the fact we have indoor cats (our kitten was super curious to see what they were doing so was constantly checking in on them). They tore out and installed our new system all in one day (between 7-8 hours). The install was extremely clean. What I was really impressed over was that they didn't just replace everything because they could. They commented on how good the previous install was and leveraged a lot of existing components. Good example of their honesty as some could just mark that as more to sell. We are beyond pleased with how this turned out and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Their service plan is also extremely competitive for it's price. These guys are top tier and will go above and beyond to make their customers have the best experience. I called these guys for a clogged drain months ago. They showed up and couldn't clear my drain,…read moremade a mess in my cabinets over all my dishes that I couldn't wash easily since I didn't have a kitchen drain, said that due to the age of my house, they'd probably have to rework a lot of my pipes, and he thought it'd be around 1k to do so. He told me the billing office would follow up on how much the attempt would cost. I called Williams and they were able to put me on the call list if they had an opening. They came out and were awesome, cleared my drain in about 5 minutes, then looked at my pipes and said my pipes were all newer and that the guy from PJs didn't know what he was talking about, and couldn't have known that without looking under my home. I called and talked to the front desk gal at PJs to let them know that I wouldn't need the second visit and to question my bill. No callback. A bill showed up 2 months later, so I called again, because I was overcharged on time, and I thought I should get a discount since the second plumber had no issues clearing the drain with the small snake and said I was given false information. They took another message. She did talk to the plumber to see what he said (he wasn't sure why the other guy cleared it so easily) and called me back herself, but I said I still wanted to see if there was anything I could do about my bill, so she took another message. 3-4 months later, I got a certified letter that I was sent to collections. I called them again immediately, getting someone different, and explained what had happened and that I was upset, and she took a message. I called the collections company and explained. Collections called me back and said that Brittany and Mandy at PJs called them today after they took my message and told them (collections) that if I didn't pay today, they were going to sue me for the $210 dollars I owed. I ended up settling with collections, for a discount (close to what I should have paid for the travel time to my place+ time spent there), but I'm pretty upset how this was handled. Horrible customer service for the manager to never return my calls, and to threaten me over a couple hundred dollars. All I wanted was a fair bill.
