The net result was the team walking off the job having received most of their payment but not having delivered on the job. I wound up hiring Woody's metal and they sorted the whole thing out without any drams and in a very efficient manner in less than 10 days. I would not recommend Manchaca metals. I am including some photos that compare the quality of work delivered by Manchaca compared to the quality of work delivered by the crew I hired to replace them. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this crew for anything that requires: working against plans, precision, focus, attention, or just generally giving a damn.

They gave me excuse after excuse before even looking at the mower as to why the repair wouldn't be covered under warranty, including trying to claim that the problem was old gas (the gas had been in the mower for about 6 weeks with a stabilizer). Then they said it was probably the carburetor which also wouldn't be covered. Then they told me after they had charged the $200 that if they even looked at the mower there would be a $68 charge whether they did the work or not. They finally told me to just come get the mower. Don't be put off by the rural setting. Rayne's a good dude and will work with you. 3) Rayne discovered I had a broken starter recoil spring. He didn't have a replacement but, since the break was near the end, he reconstructed the end to work. He put the starter mechanism back together and installed a new rope. He pointed out that my old rope was too thick and made starting hard, thus putting more stress on the spring, which likely was a factor in it ultimately breaking. 4) Rayne made sure I knew how to pull the starter cord. Yes, there is a right way and plenty of wrong way. 5) I spent an hour with him. His labor and a new starter cord cost me just $20! It definitely was worth my time to drive out there and work with him.
