We needed some staircase handrail & panels installed on our new staircase in our office. Gathered a few quotes and was actually a little surprised at how reasonable Eastside Fabrication's quote was. The crew that showed up to perform the work, lead by Noe, was extremely professional and courteous. They were also highly skilled and did a great job of getting everything welded up cleanly and straight. Eastside Fabrication's team had no problems dealing with the minor fitment issues we encountered. They were able to fabricate a few missing parts and made adjustments to their installation methods to ensure a very nice visual fitment. The welds were clean and the finished product was exactly what we were looking for. The crew showed up on time each day and worked around our schedule. They also completed the project within the requested timeline and did a great job of maintaining a safe and clean work area. I plan on utilizing Eastside Fabrication again in the future. Last week a colleague from Hungary visited us. He's both a scientist and a sculptor. He brought us a sculpture he had made out of granite and we needed to build a support for it. We bought a 3/4" stainless-steel rod from Westbrook Metals (see separate review for them), and had Eastside Fabrication tap the end of it (with a 10mm metric thread) and bend it. We were on a tight time schedule since my friend had to leave town in 5 days, but Eastside did the job the next day. It turned out the rod wasn't sturdy enough, so we got a second piece of 3/4" rod and had Eastside weld the two alongside each other; he did that the same day, and it works perfectly and looks good. It's not often one needs services such as this, but if you do, this is the place to go. Very friendly, very accommodating, and top-notch work. read more

Not a pretty place, but if you are looking for custom metal work, these guys are legit. We've had a cart for my centrifuge and planchas made for our grill and were very happy with the craftsmanship. They are very reasonable and delivered quality work. Since it's a small business, contacting them is sometimes difficult and hence, the 4, instead of 5, star rating. read more

Brian did an awesome job. Very friendly and approachable. I had a small project where I needed to extend the height of several monitors in my office using existing mounts. I purchased stainless steel tubes from an online vendor. But the tubes didn't come with threading. I discovered Brian on Yelp and called him to see if he could assist. First time going to these guys. My kickstand broke on my motorcycle so I needed that fixed asap. I went in around 9am. They said they could fix it right then and for a very fair price. Clint did a great job. He also offered to fabricate a new one if my old one didn't work out. I was back on the rode by 9:30. My mistake brought a small project for a drainage grate probably out of their wheel house. Ran the fins the wrong way and when I picked it up after they received it back from the galvanizing plant the guy ground off a few points, removing the galvanizing. Little slow too! -5 STARS should be an option. I am a single mother in the process of building a food truck. I took my food truck in to Eastside Fabrication to have them do some welding work so that I can store my generator on the back. WORST SERVICE OF MY LIFE!! They kept my truck for more than 3 weeks, and NEVER got around to doing the work they quoted me on. I lost more than $4,000 in revenue. If my job was too small for them, I would love it if they had just told me that. Instead they kept pushing the delivery date out... with this "we-will-get-to-it-when-we-feel-like-it" attitude. These guys said they could fabricate my part in a couple days and it took them over three weeks. This is not a total flame-up for eastside, for one thing they were always nice when I went and spoke to them directly, and their work, once finally completed was done well and properly thought out, as well as not too pricey. I know there are not many choices in Austin for a small fabrication job, but that does not mean you can jerk people around for weeks and weeks. I run a landscape business and ran into some serious headaches swapping in a tougher rear axle to tow with. I needed an adapter fabbed so the drive shaft could bolt to the axle. When I went in Monday and talked to the head guy, he said they were busy and it would probably take a week, and he would have his machinist call me with the price later that day. So by near to the days end they had not called, (and let me clarify that they never once called me to let me know anything about my project) so I call them up and they say they will call and let me know on cost before closing. Tuesday I let them be. Wed I went in to the shop, met the machinist, he was sharp and worked out a sensible plan, told me he would have it for me by the end of the day. So I let them be, I am, busy. When I call on Monday my machinist is not in the shop and wont be back till mid week. Is anyone working on my part? No. Every day my truck is down I am losing money so I go borrow a truck to landscape in. Same story for the rest of week two, promises and no part. By Wednesday of week three I am pretty pissed when I go to the shop to see them again, The head guy,once again, tells me It will be done 'this afternoon' I give him my patented 'polar Ice caps' look for a sec, then tell him "you have until Friday" in my most ominous tone and stalk off. Friday...nothing. Thankfully when I went in Monday, they had the part milled, drilled and ready at the price I was quoted. read more
