I have two experiences to share. In the winter of '21 we were finalizing a a kitchen remodel in Round Rock and had a single custom kitchen cabinet that needed some metal perforated panels cut to specific size. I figured I would need to leave the panels with them for at least a couple days before they would be ready for pick up. Not this time. Jake and I reviewed what I needed and he decided to do it right away for me. And for a very reasonable price. I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience and very happy as he saved me time and money. Plus, the pieces were cut EXACTLY to dimension and fit the design as planned. Thank you Jake!!! Second experience was late last summer regarding a Sunroom kit one of my customers purchased who had asked if we could assemble/install it at the back of her house. Not typically what I do but decided to take it on to help her out. The Sunroom was to be installed on a deck and the specs of the location made the Sunroom too wide. Every alteration required was easy to do onsite but there was a steel wall flashing piece that needed to be either precisely altered or a new one made to the new size. I brought the piece to Custom Sheetmetal with the new length needed. The very next day the piece was completed and ready for pickup. I expected a bit of rough workmanship due to the design. Not with Custom Sheetmetal. The alteration was perfect!!! After I spray painted it white to match you couldn't tell the difference between the altered piece and the factory made ones. Long story short, 3 months later they still weren't done. I happened to walk my dog one afternoon and ran into RCR Squared doing some welding work for our HOA neighborhood mailboxes. I asked Reid if he would come give me an opinion on something that didn't make sense to me but I'm not a welder so what would I know. Reid was gracious enough to come take a look while his team continued working on the mailboxes. When Reid saw the stairs he was in shock and could not believe what he was seeing. He then filmed a 10 minute video pointing out all the things that were done incorrectly, not to code and that were extremely dangerous for me to send to my contractor. I had been waiting 3 months for these stairs and desperately needed to be able to get into the guest house, as we were going to be up there during the construction on my main house that was starting in 2 weeks (thank god I have a different contractor for my main house). Reid & Jason gave me a bid to demo and rebuild the stairs and said they could do it right away and get it done quickly. I told them as much as i wanted to hire them I was having another welder come look, just to get another opinion and would get back to them. A welder my main contractor knows and trusted and he confirmed everything Jason and Reid had told me but couldn't do the job for 3 months and that wasn't an option. So I called them back and hired them. Honestly, I think Reid and Jason took pity on me and squeezed in my project. They started the following Monday. They thought they could get the basic stairs built in 3 days (with no trim or paint) so we could get up there before July 4th holiday, but because they had to redo the lower section of the stairs that they originally thought they could keep, it didn't get done till the following week. They took off for the holiday weekend and were back early Tuesday morning. At the time the temperature drastically changed and got ridiculously hot and of course the stairs were in full sun. It was brutal but they came in everyday with a smile. The whole team was very friendly and hard working. By Friday they had the stairs done and primed so we were able to move stuff uptairs that we desperately need out of the main house over the weekend and they came back on Monday to finish the painting. RCR square was truly a godsend to me. If I hadn't have run into them that day, and Reid didn't take a few minutes to look at the stairs I would NEVER have known until someone got hurt, which could have been years down the line, just how dangerous these stairs were. The weight of the stairs also could have taken down my storage shed and garage because the proper supports were not put inside the wall when they redid the storage shed and landing. What a nightmare that could have been. The main things I want you to know from my experience with them are that they have a very experienced team, they show up when they say they will, and work as hard as they can to get your job completed on time. They can't control holidays and weather but they will work as hard as they can to get your job done correctly. They literally got my stairs done exactly when I needed them done. I would have been royally screwed without them. Can't not speak more highly of all of these men! Thank you Jason, Reid and all the guys. You all saved me and are truly the BEST!!! Together with AI, I created the art in .JPG format and sent it to MetalWork Austin. It is quite big: 103" wide by 69" high and weighs about 200 pounds. They skillfully converted the .JPG into a routing file for their CNC plasma cutter. It was quite a fascinating experience going all the way from my image to a physical reality. They also welded 8 bolts onto the back and delivered the art piece to my house and mounted it -no small feat! Before mounting, I secured a strip of outdoor LEDs to the inside of the structure along the sides and top. It really looks fantastic at night (see pictures). I really recommend MetalWork Austin!

After 30 years of use on our old mobile smoker, I decided to have a nearby welder repair and spiff…read moreit up. We both thought it would be best to start with a fresh surface, so I found Luke and his company via Yelp. Great find! He showed up promptly as promised, and worked diligently for three hours blasting the old pit. He gave me a high estimate and low estimate, and the low estimate prevailed when the job was completed. The welder and I both marveled and how nice the raw metal looked without out the rust, pitting and peeling paint. Now he has it in his shop to begin renewing the pit. I've had experience both sand blasting and glass beading and marveled at the equipment, and media, Luke used. Former US Marine Luke, trained by our favorite uncle, definitely knew his stuff. Pit is now at welder's shop for more work, and it's great to know that one of my kids will enjoy this pit for another 30 years. If you want the blasting job done right, in good time, the first time do NOT hesitate to give Luke a shot.
