My husband built this wonderful smoker and BBQ grill, including the rockwork, tile, and concrete base about 35 years ago. It was still in pretty good shape except for the smoker cover and the door to the wood box. My husband is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and is unable to use or possibly even remember building this smoker. For him I wanted to restore it to it's original condition and be able to use the smoker again. Because I read nothing but good reviews for Austin Mobile Welding, I called Cecil, the owner, and he came two days later to look it over and he gave me a quote, which I accepted. He and Stacy both worked on it, and it's so much better than I imagined. I've got before and after pictures on their web site of the smoker cover which is beautiful and has a nice wide handle so I can use both hands to lift, and even has a unique smoke stack and a temperature gauge. The door to the wood box is great, too, and it has a smoke controller and neat handle. Stacy also built a metal wood stacker and painted all of these a shiny black. I cannot recommend this company enough. Both Cecil and Stacy are very professional and do really quality work which includes a warranty.They are also Christian men, which is a plus for me. I contacted Cecil about doing a Hitch on my new 2017 Travel Trailer on Friday and he said he would be out to where I have it stored by 10 AM and there he was Monday Morning right on time as he said he would be.We talked what I wanted done he said that was not a problem a sharp guy and was able to picture what I needed in his head. He did my job about what he said it would take him to do it and went the extra mile by doing a few extra wells to make things even stronger. Listen everyone this is the real deal this guy knows what he doing and tells up front what its going to cost possibly cost you without gouging you at the end. They've great before- and after-visit communication; the appointment was exactly kept, with text messages and phone calls confirming on the morning of, and one hour before, his arrival. Cecil spent ~4 hours updating and improving my Lake Travis dock, with both new fabrication and repair of older sloppy broken welds. Quality work, high-end tools, and pleasant folks to work with. I'm a picky grumpy perfectionist who flunks 90% of the contracted work 'round my castle; Austin Mobile Welding is in the 10%. Had a metal stock that was just too long of a length of pull. Brought it to Cecil's shop (great location) and he jumped right on it while I waited. The work was OUTSTANDING! Everything is true, kept the angle, verified with me before fully welding and it was exactly what I needed! Weld is very strong.
