I really want to give this place 4 or 5 stars, I like the menu and the concept but somehow it doesn't work out as good as you first think. The food in general looks amazing: I sat twice near their kitchen and had serious food envy when I saw the dishes pass by. All the food looks good! But both when I went for Sunday brunch as well as a weekday dinner, the food had flaws. The omelet with chorizo (forgot the name) looked amazing but was overcooked and dry on the inside. My friends Benedict's poached egg was also overcooked and the bagel was just ok. The pastrami rueben was served with cheese grilled at the table which sounds and looks great but unfortunately the waitress turned her back towards us and gave instead our neighbors a little show with our food. The pastrami itself was not bad but there was no Thousand Island dressing, instead there was mustard and loads of it... it overpowered the sandwich. In addition, I found the sauerkraut quite tasteless. Great looking menu but I feel that they miss the mark on execution. I might give them another try but for the moment I am not really convinced. read more

A comfortable, contemporary interior and exterior. The Pacific combo seemed like a good deal, since it included prosecco and orange juice. However, the museli was only average and the mini pancake was decidedly meh-- perhaps served too cold? Portions were also modest, although cumulatively the whole dish was quite reasonable. Service was decent and the outside seating was quite comfortable. Would come again, but probably for dinner, since that menu looks much more interesting. read more

Excellent bagel-and-brunch place; we hit the round breads with fish for our first trip, and will probably do Rösti on our second. While it felt full, and looked packed, we actually managed to get a table fairly easily. The bread here is excellent, the bagels are quite good (although not as boiled / chewy as I'd consider authentic), and the fresh juices and Mimosa / Bellini class beverages are a perfect match. The older crowd wears their silks and pearls to brunch here, but it's an egalitarian atmosphere that is also quite happy to accept jeans and a track jacket. Definitely a good choice for visiting parents or other leisurely brunch occasions. read more

Had brunch before going to work today at Bohemia. It is a staple here in Zurich and it is a really quaint place. The breakfast platter I had was very tasty and they had real Maple Syrup. The hot chocolate I had was made with real cream. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Zurich read more

I was searching for an American restaurant and settled on Bohemian for dinner. I sat outside and was promptly greeted. The atmosphere and service was average, but the food and drinks seemed sub-par. I ordered a chicken club and fries because the sandwich didn't come with any; although, I was full after a fry or too. The chicken club was more like a messy lettuce club. In the entire sandwich there may have 2 ounces of chicken and 1 pound of lettuce. The bacon tasted good, but overall, I was really disappointed with the sandwich. To drink I ordered a gin and tonic. The gin, monkey 47, was great, but the house tonic was not good. At other Zurich restaurants they use much better tonic. For mediocre food and service come here for dinner. read more

Love this restaurant! Went here for brunch and had their delicious chicken bagel sandwich with a freshly squeezed orange juice. The bagel sandwich was so good! It was topped with salad, avocado and cream cheese. You can also get pancakes, eggs benedict, etc. There were many English speakers during our visit.. I think it's a hub for expats, which is so great if you're an English speaker and missing home! Just make sure you book a table in advance as it's quite crowded, esp. on the weekends (and esp. at brunch time it seems). There are also spots by the bar, but there can also be a wait for those. read more

Slightly hip atmosphere but but a cool granny reading her paper over a double espresso was as comfortable as the twenty something hipsters at the bar. The quintessential European cafe/restaurant that tries to be everything to everyone and pretty much succeeds. A major restoration last year changed the dynamic somewhat - spiffing it up and turning on the gloss. Still, this is a pretty interesting spot to people-watch, espresso-sip, dine, brunch or just enjoy a pint at the bar. The staff is multi-lingual and your English-only language skills won't leave you in the lurch. If you don't know, just ask. The restaurant is divided into four quadrants: The big wrap-around bar, a couch/chair seating area which is good for people watching, conversation eaves dropping and general see-and-be-seen noshing. The third section is the dining room - with booths and banquettes; bathrooms are downstairs and the whole place has a sharp clean look to it. Very disappointed, again! I tried Bohemia when I first arrived in Zurich because they were the only place offering brunch in my neighborhood. Although in the end the food reminded me of what I was looking for, the experience overall was pretty bad. The service was snooty and rude: there immediately to get a drink order barely as soon as one is seated, and then practically AWOL for the rest of the time. They make you feel like you're doing them a favor by eating in their restaurant-- so unwelcoming! To top it off, the place is pretty pricey for what you get To be fair, I tried it again later, hoping I just had a fluke bad experience the first time. Nope, left again feeling cold with an empty wallet. I must be a glutton for punishment because I ended up there again this weekend with a group, but only because every restaurant in the Seefeld area was closed at lunchtime! Bohemia was packed-- I can only hope because it's the only place around even open. Avoid this place if you have any other options! read more

Visited the 3rd time or so now and don't understand the hype around this bar. Overpriced coffee that doesn't taste good. I ordered an espresso and got an espresso macchiato with way too much milk. I suspect that the weird taste comes from using UHT milk. With a price tag of CHF 5.20 I expect more. The Schokogipfeli I ordered actually was a pain au chocolat and again I would have expected that they at least know the difference and let you know before just serving it. But it was good which justifies the 2 stars (the coffee isn't worth a single star though). read more

We go as a family regularly for Sunday brunch and always enjoy it. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, the service super friendly, always, and the food good. Highly recommended for a casual eat-out in this neighborhood. read more
