Over Christmas break, my friend Shawna shared a family tradition where she makes Philly Cheesesteaks on Christmas Eve. I really loved the idea and figured it would be a fun change of pace as this year has been such a crazy one anyways! One of the most important and valuable questions that I asked her in follow up was, "where do you get your shaved steak from?" The answer leads me here to Bogner's. What a cool find in Manchester. There were so many people picking up holiday orders when I walked in and I know why now. Because they are awesome! Not one, not two, but three people helped me with my purchases and finding the 10 pounds of shaved steak that i needed for a really great price at that. I walked out of there with all sorts of fun things too- like onion rings, french fries, chicken tenders, pickles, sauces---they have so many things you might need and again- all for great prices! What a find! Everyone was as friendly as can be and the end result- the cooked Philly Cheesesteaks--so delicious! I will certainly keep this tradition going not only for Christmas, but also for other friend and family gatherings in the future. Not to be cliché, but this is a hidden gem. You do have to get past the smell of the dog products at the start of the store, but they have an interestingly, curated selection of items for sale, and the meat case, and deli are fully stocked. I have never been disappointed. My guess is they will do special orders, and watch their weekly sale flyer. I think when they move, they are going to get slammed and hope that the quality service remains. read more

If you want amazing meat at reasonable prices - check this place out. It's not a store, and has limited hours, but if you can get there before 6PM Tues-Friday, or before 3PM on a Saturday - it's worth a stop. They cut the meat on-site - and distribute to local restaurants, etc. Why not cut out the middle man? I like the Kansas City strip, and the hot dogs are good if you don't mind that they're "natural casing." Be prepared for a line, however. (its a meat thing) so we have now begun to frequent bogner's more and more and buy meat at the "stores" less and less! tips? their bacon is unbelievably (until you actually visit) awesome. they even have a peppered bacon, same low price. i bought a pork butt for pulled pork, they trimmed the hide no problem. i also got their porterhouse burgers. they arent made of porterhouse, they just look like little steaks. you do not need to run there right now for those, but they were still very good. they also have some regular groceries, but this place isnt about that, its about great fresh meat cut to your specs and very affordable. i hope you enjoyed reading this yelp, id steak my rep on it! read more

MEEEAAATTTTT! Cheeeappp meeeaaaaaatttt! My boyfriend and I recently stopped into Bogner's to scope out the selection, hoping for a broad array of exotic meats (I really wanted antelope burgers!) but our hopes were in vain. Ok, even though we didn't leave with anything too out of the ordinary, we picked up some meaty babyback ribs and a few cornish game hens. We prepared meals over the next few days and the meats were awesome! Super tender. The overall experience at Bogner's was pretty solid. This family-owned wholesale butchery cuts the meat in their store and distributes to restaurants, but has a small retail store where the public can purchase meats, sauces, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful, the meat selection was great (although nothing terribly out of the ordinary, much to my dismay), and we left happy and ready to cook! read more

I was headed to Arnold's in MA and decided to stop at Bogner's because a) I had never been b) I wanted to compare the two and c) figured if the reviews were as good as people said, this place would be awesome. I walked in and after looking at barren freezer space and a small rinky dink counter area, wIwalked out 2 minutes later. Unfortunately, I had high hopes for this particular establishment and was really let down. Their selection was absolutely horrible (in my opinion) and what they DID have, was burgers that had random bits of crap thrown in them ala gourmet style. OK, so I don't eat meat anymore. However we fed our dog the raw diet and visit Bogner's every two weeks to get a supply of chicken bravo. Strengths: When I did eat meat the quality of the meat was very high, the prices are reasonable and the meat bundles are an excellent deal! We have been buying Bravo dog food for our dogs do years. The food is very high quality and our dogs love it! The bravo includes raw meat, ground bones, organ meat and veggies everything a healthy dog needs in their diet! They also have dog treats and chews readily available. Bogners sells more than just meat!! They have fresh vegetable as well as frozen items. The frozen cheese raviolis are my favorite! Needs: I hate to say it, but I have a difficult time with the smell of the store. It smells very strongly of meat which is has been unappealing to me even when I was a carnivore. The hours can be inconvenient, they are not open late any day and only til noon on Saturday. read more

I have been buying meat at a local high end market for years, Just discovered Bogners a few months ago, despite my husband always giving it an A+. I am now totally hooked. Just ordered PRIME rib roast for $10.49/lb. The high end market has it at $12.99 and it's only Choice. So many choices, pheasant, duck, tenderloin, boar's Head cold cuts. It's nice to run into a butcher shop to get meats instead of the box grocery stores. I realize they are more of a "red meat" place but I really think if they upped their chicken game it would be beneficial. They do carry chicken but people who know what chicken should taste like are looking for Bell and Evans and not what they offer. Kansas City steaks are amazing as is most of their meat for freshness, etc. The deli is great option and it is staffed with a very nice and helpful woman. I'd like to see the meat counter help a bit more friendly and accommodating. Sometimes gruff and not so friendly - they certainly are not helpful when you ask questions about meats, cuts and cooking times and I base this on what I witness and receive. On one last note, the cashier is who I see last and as I leave. Her kindness to all customers is probably why I return! read more

I started to have Bogner meats when I worked at a restaurant. They have the BEST all beef hot dogs. I can not eat any other kind. I have bought their prestuffed hamburgers with bacon a.d cheddar cheese. Best burger I have had. And all of the pede frozen pasta is restaurant quality at excellent prices. read more

I went to Bogner's for the first time yesterday after hearing about it from family & friends. I can't believe I have lived in Manchester for 8 years and have never been to this place! I ordered the Bogner bargain bundle which had 3 lbs of hamburger, 3 lbs shaved steak, 3 lbs pork ribs, 2 lbs sausage, a whole chicken, a chuck roast and 3 lbs of bacon. I was able to seperate it into 14 meals for $70! I have a full freezer and can't wait to try every thing. Last night I cooked some of the shaved steak over rice and it was great! I normally shop at Big Y but from now on I think I will be going to Bogner's for meat. MUCH cheaper! You can even get deli meat & cheese as well as milk & eggs while you're there. This is the best place to go for deli meat. The line is long sometimes but it's worth it. Things move along quickly. Also, I love the fact that they sell fresh eggs and veggies from local farmers. Now they have homemade dog food and sell the bones. The staff is AWESOME--some of the nicest and most knowledgeable. Took me years before I finally went into the store because when driving by it is not all that inviting. Friends kept saying how good the meat was so I finally tried it and have been a regular ever since. Prices are reasonable and quality is high. They also have deli meats at great prices.
