**Updated to add that the business responded to my review, deflecting any wrong doing and said that…read morethey "require shaving the area before treatment". This is yet another area where they failed me- as neither the receptionist that booked my appointment told me this, nor was I told this when I checked in for my services, nor did the woman that did my service tell me the area needs to be shaved before she worked on me. So, this is the first time I'm hearing this, despite THREE employees saying nothing of the sort. And yet, they still feel justified in not refunding me, and not extending any level of proper care or customer service to me. They are TRULY a horrible, unprofessional, low quality med spa. ** Bad experience and terrible customer service after the fact. I made an appointment for Laser Hair Removal, which I've had done on various parts of my body over the years at various med spas. I was going to be in Ventura on a week long road-trip down south, and decided to try this place for my LHR. I had a fancy gala at the end of the week for an LA event with lawyers and judges, so always some primping is done to look my best. A girl's gotta look polished for this type of shin dig... and it's pretty fun getting ready. Except when it's not, and that's what happened at this place. When I made the appt, I asked the woman on the phone about numbing cream for my face, she informed me that I wouldn't need it bc it's a fast moving wand. I had never experienced this type of machine before, but when I asked her if it was the same result where all the hair falls off or can be easily wiped off after treatment, she simply replied, "yes". This was not the case, as I learned AFTER I spent $200 and wasted my time with this place. I left still looking like Chewbacca, and I emailed the office to let them know I was not satisfied. This is when I was told that each treatment would remove about 20% of the visible hair. Had I known this when I called to get info, I WOULD NOT HAVE BOOKED THE APPT. I absolutely would not and could not show up to this gala looking like Chewbacca. When I asked to get my money back, I was told they have a no refunds policy. I asked them if they insist on their no refunds policy despite misrepresentation and flat out lying to me about the treatment results ... and no one responded -nor have I been refunded. Churn and burn is a bad business practice! Just gross and unethical business practices all the way around- from the woman at the front desk that made my appointment, to Angela that did my treatment (by the way, in an email she said she "assured me that I had some hair loss even though there was a lot of hair left"), to Sabina that went totally quiet after I disputed their no refund policy calling out their unethical practice of misinformation and misrepresentation. Also, upon further research I notice that a handful of the reviews are from their own employees (always with the no profile pic and only one review in their profile). Absolutely do not go here, and do not trust these people.

Dr. Karlsberg and his staff are always so kind and friendly. I can't believe these negative reviews! I feel bad that I never gave his office a positive review when I could have so many times. I'm coming in to get some broken capillaries removed from my nose and chin. I'll post before and after photos so check for my updated review. I'm going in next week. Here's my before photo. I promise to be very honest in my review. I truly hope this whole "negative reviews" thing is in no way a reflection on his office because some people can get very emotional when they don't get the answers they want. I truly wish they (those reviewers) found a doctor that told them what was going on with them. I'll be back next week with updates. But I know this doctor is amazing. He loves caring for his patients. I have broken capillaries or spider veins on my face. Thanks to genetics in my family and loving the sun. At age 56, I want less of these, since I don't like wearing foundation on my skin. Will post after photos soon! Five stars for all my past experiences here and the fact that I trust this doctor very much. And his staff are amazing! Rhonda

A friend in Ventura recomended the spa and the clinician. Other med spas in Ventura had higher IPL pricing and those spas could not justify, to me, why their prices were higher, so I went to Plush! The first IPL treatment had dramatic results...improved my skin texture, including smoothness and skin look and feel, reduced redness on my chin, massively reduced spots and discoloration. With the 2nd treatment of IPL the clinician used a smaller head to deliver the pulsed light to target smaller zones on my face (I wish this was provided in the first treatment as well). We were both very pleased with the experience! From the beginning, the staff was professional, kind, and incredibly patient. They answered all of our questions thoroughly and made my mom feel comfortable every step of the way. The Emsella chair itself was easy and comfortable for my mom to use. She went for a full round of treatments and while it wasn't a complete cure, it made a meaningful difference. My mom noticed she wasn't needing to go as often, had better control than before, and it became an important part of the overall treatment plan that helped improve her quality of life. One of the biggest changes was at night. Before treatment, she was getting up three or four times every night to go to the bathroom. After completing the treatments, she was sleeping much better because she wasn't waking up nearly as often. If you or a loved one is dealing with incontinence, especially after feeling like you've run out of options, I would absolutely recommend looking into the Esmella treatment here. The staff is truly superb and seeing the improvement in my mom's quality of life made it well worth it. We're so glad we found this medical spa!
