Impossible to walk-in mainly because she's booked out 2 weeks in advanced. My massage with Marissa is one of the best I've experienced when compared to that of Hilton hotels, the underground ones in China, and the ones in San Diego. The striking difference is that she approaches the massage from a holistic standpoint and addresses specific regions on your neck, back, legs, feet, and hands BILATERALLY, even that iliotibial band tightness on the side of your leg. (You squatters know what I'm talking about) My experience involved having rigorous neck pain from poor posture while sitting at the computer for the past 4 months. Rosemary, heated towels strong hands I have been looking for a masseuse that I could use it for regular care and I discovered Marissa through a Lucky Groupon. When you walk into her suite, it is like nothing I have been to before. The entry area is so relaxing and you can hear peaceful music playing the moment) you enter. Marissa came up and greeted me immediately and brought me back to the room. The table was covered with the softest blanket and the sheets underneath where silky smooth as well. The head rest is covered with a soft fur end it was a delight to trust my face to it. Best of all, her hands are warm! She used a rosemary scented oil which soothed my skin and my senses. And as she worked from my neck, down my back and legs I felt each muscle yield to her firm pressure. She never triggered pain only the relaxation of my muscles. It ends with magnificent heated towels at the back of your neck and on your arms and feet which feel amazing. A bottle of water at the end helps to revive after the session. I contacted Marissa based on Yelp reviews as I searched to find someone who could help relieve me of 2+ months of debilitating, nauseating tension headaches. I described my condition per my doctor's diagnosis, and she assured me she could help. Did she ever!! I've had 2 sessions so far (today was the second), and I'm beyond grateful for a huge improvement! I still feel a minor headache, but its holding at a level 2 compared to the 10+ I had for over 2 months! Marissa warned me the customized treatment would be intense, and she would proceed as much as I could take it. She wasn't wrong; she uses a variety of tools to help release muscle tension around my head, neck and shoulders, and it can be rattling and uncomfortable, but she clearly knows what she's doing, as she combines deep tissue work with long, stretching and soothing strokes. My reviews is loooong overdue but better late than never, right? Marissa is a magic lady! I booked my appointment with Marissa with ease and the office was easy to find. The office is beautiful and quaint I wish I could tell you more about the bed and sheets but I wasn't there for fluff and stuff. I was having sciatica issues so bad I could hardly stand or walk this is actually a chronic problem for me and I have the hardest time finding a good therapist or one that actually understands the body. I felt confident from the reviews that I was going to be in good "hands". I explained to Marissa what was going on with my back and how I am pretty much in pain all the time. She assured me that she knew exactly how to treat it, explained why my body is the way it was, and that it would be an intense massage with lots of stretching. My dream girl! Wow. Just had my first massage with Marissa and it was beyond expectations. Like many of you, I came here with a Groupon for a 60-minute deep tissue. I had actually heard about Marissa from a friend a few years back, so I was pleasantly surprised when I realized the Groupon was for a much-raved about therapist. Marissa is much in demand, and I had to book my session about 2 months out. My session was simultaneously relaxing and rigorous -- everything you want out of a deep tissue. She made sure not to hurt me, and stopped going at one of my more intense knots after I expressed some pain. I suffer from semi-chronic back pain, plus the general horror of working at a 9-5 desk job and all I can say is after my session with her I felt amazing. She uses a mixture of techniques to work your muscles and feel out your blind spots, those areas you didn't even realize you were carrying so much tension in.
