Beautiful experience & wrong time Lady approached me, offering one minute massage for Free. That one minute was less than 20 seconds, SERIOUSLY. She felt my back with her baby soft warm hands, which felt like heaven, and told me that I have tension. (Yes I know I've been in a car accident, & stressed tf out. I didn't share this detail) She invited me to receive a10 minute massage for $10. I accept. But I set a time from my MK smart watch for 10 minutes, due to the false free one minute. Glad I did, I had seconds over one minute left. Plus she exchanged off with her partner twice, within my ten minutes. So that cut off seconds off the service. Plus you want to cut my time short. Then when explaining the time, and showing you my watch, and you confirmed that you were indeed being timed, (only after she picked up a small clock. That everyone is using at once). You then choose to proceed, back to my message. That ruin the great experience. And my time went down to half a minute. I already know I can't depend on receiving my full minute. This isn't the targeted, Swedish massage you'll get at a foofy-foo spa. It's a rough Chinese-style massage where they use long deep strokes and forceful rubbing. It's done through whatever you're wearing out in the open with anyone else getting treatments. You'll get a thorough massage, and they're fast but don't take special requests. They're careful about problem areas. You won't get a bad massage, just not what you're probably used to. read more

Whenever I am in need of a massage on the fly and somewhere near the mall this is the place. You don't need a reservation, just show up. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes, but you'll get in pretty quick. I usually get a 20 minutes chair massage & a 20 minute reflexology/foot massage. It is on the second floor of the side wing right next to the Nordstroms in the Galleria. I park in the Macy's/Nordstroms parking garage & it is just right there. As long as it is not the crazy holiday traffic, you can get in and out easily. The male masseuse is very strong and really can adjust your shoulders and back. The female masseuse is not as strong, but still pretty strong. If you are looking at a relaxing, quiet, spa experience; this is not the place for you. I've been with a horrible pain in my arm for about two weeks after I went there. Currently taking medication and not able to work because of the terrible pain. During my massage I had to tell the guy that I was in pain and he told me that 20 minutes was too much for my and offer a 10 minutes session, but charge me for 20 min WTF. I felt good for about 20 mins but immediately after that I started to feel uncomfortable in my left arm ( told him to stop during my massage) it has been horrible. I live out of town and was in Houston for cancer treatment at MD Anderson. My wife and I had an afternoon free and decided to go to the Galleria. While walking, I came across Body and Sole's message area out in the mall. No one was there except a young lady who was the masseus. I decided to try the 30 minute message for $39. Immediately she asked if I would rather lay down on a table and I said yes, not knowing this would be more expensive. We walk around the corner to their main location, I lay down on the table and she begins the message. Not long after that someone begins messaging my foot and the girl says something which I have trouble understanding with her Asia accent. I respond yes whatever I am paying for thinking it is part of the $39 price. As the message is obviously going longer than the 30 minutes, I prepare myself to pay more. After an hour and the message of back and feet is over, I am presented with a bill for $140 and asked if I would like to add anything additional aka tip. I am stunned and ask why it is so much more than the $39 I was originally expecting. They show me the pricing in the shop and how it adds up to $140. I say no tip and don't argue with them as their English is hard to understand and I don't need that kind of stress in my life right now. Net net, this was a clear case of bait and switch and they saw me coming, hence the reason for the one star review. Shame on you people! read more

I have been randomly getting massages from here over the years when my fiancee is shopping at the galleria and I have nothing better to do. The prices aren't that bad and the best massage I've had from Body & Sole is the table massage - 30 bucks for 30 minutes. I literally fell asleep because I was so relaxed. But going back to yesterday's massage because the 2 star average is lowballing this place way too much. I got a 20 minute chair massage. Normally the lady who gives them can inflict a lot of pain because she uses a lot of pressure over small hands/elbows compared to the guys with bigger hands/elbows, but she did a great job. I had already told her that my shoulders were giving me problems and requested she focus there. She worked out so many knots that at the end of the massage, my head felt like it was floating above my shoulders. Bottom line - don't be afraid to tell them what you need - they understand English and all so don't be shy. You'll have a far better experience than the first guy who reviewed Body & Sole. read more

I think it's important to note that this is advertised as "acupressure," not regular massage. It's a bit deeper and more intense. It hurt a lot several times during my 30-minute session, but I could feel that work was being done, and I felt pretty great afterwards. I have to admit I'm amazed at the relative comfort of massage chairs; not a table, for sure, but pretty comfortable. Definitely not the most relaxing atmosphere, but certainly a fairly cheap momentary escape from the hustle and bustle of the Galleria, and life. The masseuse started off very lightly and I knew he wouldn't be able to get any knots out if he kept going at that rate, so I asked him if he could apply more pressure. He went over the top and at times, it felt like he was doing it on purpose. The female masseuse even asked him if he was trolling me and I can only assume he nodded as I was face down. The next day I had bruises on my buttocks and calves and I could barely walk. He had the audacity to ask me for a $30 tip for a $70 just because he applied more pressure. My friends and I were walking around the Galleria and I noticed some people getting some chair massages. After flying in from the West Coast and my upper body was in knots, I decided to get one. At $1.00/minute or $20 for a 20 minute session was reasonable. We sat at the couches and waited for one of the guys to attend to us. As soon I sat down, I expected him to ask which places to focus on and which pressure i liked. Nope, the guy started kneading my neck and shoulders with high pressure. It hurt like hell. I even asked the guy to lower his pressure, but instead he started jabbing his elbow to my shoulders and back at MAXIMUM FORCE! At the end of the chair message, you should be relaxed and almost sleepy. Your back and shoulders should be light and nimble. After this experience, my back and shoulders were sore from the pressure and repeated jabs. I really felt like punching the guy...WTH~! Pass and definitely would not recommend. So this is a no frills establishment but the foot reflexology provided by the female masseuse was great. I felt like I was walking on clouds on my way out. There was no one at the desk just a sign to call this number and she popped out from the back. There's no comp beverage, it's not a massage chair and they rest your feet on paper towels. All that being said next time I'm in the Galleria I'll get 30 minutes instead of 20. Hopefully it'll be just as good the next time around. I love this place! It is hard for me to go to the galleria and not stop by here. I keep reading reviews about the strong pressure they use, and yes that is very accurate. I personally love the strong pressure. I always feel like my muscles really loosen up after a chair massage with them. As far as the location and noise, I never have a problem with it. I am usually so relaxed that I wouldn't notice anything going on outside of my massage. The only thing that I don't like about this place is the wait. There are only two people ever working there and if you happen to stop by while two customers are just starting, you may be waiting anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. read more

The guy rushed me into the chair and treated me as though I was just another dollar for him and he didn't even try to listen to me when I told him where I was hurting. He gave very light pressure with no regards to what pressure I was comfortable with and to top it off, was talking loudly to the other massage therapist working behind him, not even paying attention to his work on me... Not cool and a total waste of time and money. I prefer this place to fancy spas TBH and a lot of times I'll come to the mall specifically to go here. I have an extremely stressful job and I also do recreational gymnastics. In other words, I've got some tough muscles with some tough knots. The massage therapists here are always able to help me feel a million times better for a fraction of what I'd pay at some fancy froo-froo spa. The best part is, you get to decide how long you want the massage to go for, and you can ask them to target specific areas - so if you don't have a lot of time or it's only one area giving you trouble (for me it's usually my shoulders) you don't have to shell out a ton of cash for an hour long massage. They're also really good about giving light, medium, or deep pressure depending on your needs and requests (don't let the petite size of some of the massage therapists fool you - they are strong!) THIS IS THE WORST PLACE EVER!! I BEG you to not come here or any of their places EVER!!! I came here for a massage and the lady spoke perfect english and I even had a conversation with her. After the massage she asked me to pay $18 for a 15 minute massage, I gave her a $100 bill and she simply walked away and DID NOT put my money in their bag, wrote it down, as they said they did and the lady WALKED AWAY WITH MY MONEY!! as I waited for my change while on the phone. I asked a man working their after she left (with my $100) for my change back and he REFUSED to give me ANY of my money back!! So I decided to bring a security officer to have the lady who gave me my massage my change (which was $80 after paying for the massage) The lady encharged of the massage stand sent the lady who did my massage HOME WITH my $100 and she started violently screaming at me, cursing me, mocking me, pointing at me, and THREATNING me in an other languages and in english. 5 other people from "the same massage" (supposedly which were never their as I was getting my massage) started making VIOLENT hand signals, screaming at me, and again threatning me for simply asking for my change back and again they refused. They kept changing their story and completely changed it 3 other TIMES and the security guard agreed. They DID NOT give me back my money after claiming they "did not speak english" however they were speaking PEEFECT english the whole conversation until then. Furthermore, I proposed a solution for $40 change back instead of the $80 which was the half so it would be a fair agreement and AGAIN they refused to even give me back my change. I BEG BEG BEG YOU to PLEASE not come here for a TERRIBLE massage and service. This is not only a terrible place but a complete SCAM and Is considered an UNSAFE place for you, your family, your children, and your friends as they WILL threaten you, cuss, and scream at you. I paid for a 10 minute massage today and it was fabulous. The therapist exerted a lot of pressure (with strong hands!) on the areas that were tense and I left the place feeling very relaxed and much less tense in my muscles. I plan to treat myself to this on a regualr basis. read more
