I politely inquired whether my prepaid maintenance plan would cover the cost of that day's service because I did not have to pay during my previous visit. Her demeanor was VERY dismissive, and she offered zero explanation. I later found out on my own they were simple charges--which was understandable, but I still had questions. Had she taken the time to explain these charges, I would have left feeling more informed and content, not just another transaction. I typically would have let this interaction slide, but the audacity of this behavior left me appalled. I'm only giving a two-star rating because I've previously had wonderful experiences with the sales team and service technicians!

The place is located on the corner of Sample/Sheridan, the entrance is a small driveway off of Sheridan. Pull up to the closed garage door and follow the sign: honk your horn and wait. They'll open up the door soon enough and wave for you to drive in. From there you can choose your services: a basic car wash includes vacuuming all but the trunk. You will need to take your stuff off the floor though or they'll ignore those spots. The trunk is additional to the posted $15. The wheels weren't washed, but the body was fine and their shop vac did justice to my husky's fur on my dark seats! I also added a small tip for their quick and efficient service! (And for making it out there alive!)

2nd Shift Automotive, received my truck for the he first time on the week of April 8,2021... I…read moredropped it off to have the transmission serviced.. It shifted into second gear late but it wouldn't shift into third.. On that following Tuesday, I got some news about what was going on with it along with a general ballpark of the price of repairs. Friday, April 23,2021 received it back with what I was lead to believe was a fully rebuilt transmission and paid Raphael the entire $1,333 bill due to find out that he had also supposedly re sealed my rear differential. Upon driving the truck I noticed that it was fixed for the most part, but still seemed to have 1.) lost a little bit of power, 2. Would still shift into second gear erratically. September 16, 2021 it began to have issues again. The issues started that morning then after leaving work it started to lose second gear again. I dropped it off with Raphael yet again to have it looked at not knowing what was going on. It sat for an entire week before it was even looked at this time.. I called Raphael a few times to ask if they got to it and he informed me that they hadn't and would soon. I then received it back and he once again said that he had rebuilt the transmission and that it had gone bad because he didn't change the torque converter the first time he received it. When I got it back the following Wednesday, he had installed a clutch fan and told me that I needed it and it should have been on my truck to begin with and that he's sorry he didn't notice it before but that my truck should have had it to begin with along with the electrical fans and that it would have voided the warranty had he not installed it because that's why my torque converters went bad. Although I wasn't charged to have it installed it wasn't a necessity nor was it beneficial... I Drove it for a few days before I paid him $215 for the upgraded trans cooler he installed on his own. And informed him that it was still shifting erratically. He then claims that he "upped the psi" the following Monday. I then stopped by to have him drive it and let him know that "upping the psi" didn't fix anything. He then said he was going to need me to drop it off again the following Monday morning to "up the psi again" . On the morning of the 8th of October the trans went out again and left me stranded on the side of the road. I had to pay to have it towed to Raphaels shop after a week I was finally able to get some sort of answer as to what was going on with my truck in the form of a phone call, during this phone call he mentioned that there's still a part inside the trans that he hadn't replaced and that he intended to "up the psi" one more time before changing this part. On October 9, 2021 I got the truck back. On the way home I stopped at a red light, after the light turned green I went to hit the gas and it wouldn't move. It's been sitting at my house since.

After working out the details remotely, I took a train ride to South Bend and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I have purchased a lot of cars and this was the easiest deal ever. I have to say that even including my train ride and the drive back I can almost guarantee that I still saved time versus the time it would have taken negotiating with the dealers in the Chicagoland area...and the train ride was pleasant to boot.
