I have been to this restaurant many many times and have also been to the one in Fairfield as well. Both places never let me down and continue to make amazing food that I keep going back for. The guac with crab and orange habanero is AMAZING!! The pozole mash and Brussels are not to be missed. Love the tacos lady tata style and the margaritas are delicious but could be a bit stronger for the price. I'm going for dinner tonight with my husband and two friends and I cannot wait to see what the specials are. This is not typical Mexican fare and a lot of the negative reviews I feel are regarding the fact that it's not, however it's not supposed to be. It's trendy Mexican fusion that hits the spot. Went here for my team holiday dinner. Drinks were yummy and food was good. I really love love the brussel sprouts, corn and the avocado fries. WOW those are my absolute favorite and I will be back again. I wont order the short ribs again as I thought it was a bit salty for my taste. My favorite restaurant in CT! Burrito tinga is the best. I recently moved to NJ and I can't find another to even compete. Guac is great, just wish you got more chips and maybe some salsa with it. When we told the waiter that we got a beverage (when he finally came) he didn't even apologize. When our tacos arrived we had to ask if there were any sauces to put on our tacos (there were) - then wait to get them. I can't even say that it was crowded because it wasn't. Great casual taco bar. We came on a Friday night so it was a bit crowded and the music was loud. We waited for a table at the bar and ordered some drinks. They have a good amount of interesting cocktails and the bartender was super friendly. He even gave us a free sample. We got the guacamole and tried different tacos which were all delicious. Came during late brunch Sunday. It wasn't crowded and service was slow I'm assuming because it's their slow time. The lobster guac and chips and sangria were good starters. This was awful- it's Dariens version of Mexican- ugh. There was not one authentic item. My husbands soft shell crab taco just was fried breading with no taste. My chicken and waffles had a lot of sauce so you wouldn't taste the burnt waffle or the fact that the chicken was tough . The guacamole was bland- no seasoning added- will not return. read more

Terrific meal and service tonight at Bodega (Tuesday at 6pm)...WE had the guacamole, Blistered brussel sprouts (OMG - the best!!), Chicken Tingo burrito (great smiked chicken flavor - it is a big burrito), Cubano sandwich and rice and beans on the side. Everything was flavorful and authentic. The place is nice inside and has a huge parking lot in the back (did not know that...). Good service - I was pleasantly surprised!! I am giving this place only 3 stars. While the service was decent and the food was good, it was just too loud. TOO LOUD. I'd only go back there if they made even a small effort to fix that. The food was good, not the best tacos we've had, but still good. We got excited they had arepas in the menu- let's just say they should stick to tacos! The tortilla chips were good too, thick and crunchy, and I think even flour not corn which I really like. Also, while the service was good, we each got totally upsold on the tacos, between the arepa we shared and chips we ordered I only wanted 2 tacos and the server talked me into 3. I only ate 2 and was completely stuffed. Same happened to my husband. We also didn't finish the arepa or the chips. Overall it was ok but I am not sure we will be rushing back there unless they get that noise under control. read more

Came here for lunch on recommendation for the tacos, and I am so happy! I had the tuna and the calexico tacos, which both were delicious and filling. I also got a side of the brussels sprouts, but I was not as happy about those. The first bite was amazing because it's very different. The brussels sprouts are in a pineapple glaze, and the sweet flavor complements the vegetable so well. But after just one bite, the sweetness was overwhelming. It felt like my dish was swimming in sugar. But it has inspired me to try to add a bit of sugar to my own roasted brussels sprouts for a similar and delicious effect! read more

First I want to say I LOVE Bodega. I want to rate it 5 stars but didn't-- and I'll explain why. The food is fantastic, the drinks are great and the atmosphere is fun. However, I constantly feel rushed to order and leave. I have been there 3 times in the last month and have had a different waitress each time yet I have felt rushed by the waitstaff every time I go. I enjoy a nice slow lunch where I don't have to order the second I sit down. I don't mean to sound dramatic but sometimes I feel watched like a hawk. This is unfortunate because I love going to Bodega and want to enjoy it. Hopefully posting this review will alert the restaurant to the issue and have it resolved as I really look forward to coming again. read more

Bodega is by far my favorite restaurant in Fairfield county. The food is fresh, the atmosphere is very relaxed, it almost feels like you're on vacation when eating there! The Americano Taco is a great twist on a classic favorite beef taco. You MUST order the Brussels sprouts, best item on their menu hands down! I had never eaten a Brussels sprout until here, and now I am addicted to them. I have not had a meal that I haven't loved here. Definitely visit this restaurant! Every time I eat there I request Carter as my server. He is extremely knowledgeable about every item on the menu, and always knows what to suggest, as I am a very picky eater. After I was upset menu item was removed, he quickly told me that I could change the meat of a dish, to make it similar so my old favorite. He exceeds my expectations as a server, and is extremely friendly. Always a great dining experience here, would highly reccomend this restaurant to everyone! read more

I troll the taquerias in Spanish Harlem, and in my opinion, Bodega is the closest thing I've found in Yuppieland. The place is clean, the food is fresh (I asked, they don't even own a freezer) . I had already finished my meal, a brisket slab taco and a plate of Serano ham, Buffalo mozzarella and blazing hot mango sauce, when I saw them serving a whole fish with soft tortillas to a neighboring table. Wow! The manager, Francisco, told me it was a special. So go to Bodega, and check the specials on the blackboard. No freezer, the place is legit. read more
