Cut hole in wall Mexican restaurant. The restaurant has an open kitchen and guests can walk in from either end as the restaurant is long but not wide. The service was prompt and the atmosphere was festive. We both tried the argentino meat which is hangar steak one of us had burrito bowl and the other had burrito. The burrito was huge and came in a mini cast iron rectangular skillet and the burrito bowl was filled with vegetables, steak and good sauce. The rice was a bit clumpy and the Poblano peppers were a bit over powering but all in all it was good. They take credit card There is parking on street or in a lot behind the building They offer an extensive bar menu

Good good, always busy, always pretty quick. Very enjoyable. Guacamole is fresh and tasty. Tacos are so good. Margarita is tasty with salted rum. Great service and quick without making you feel rushed.

Came here on a taco Tuesday for $1 off tacos with a friend. I had the mango margarita and a regular one! Both tasted great on rocks. We loved the tacos (we got a mixture) and ended the meal with churrors and chocolate dessert. Staff was friendly, our server (pictured) was attentive and friendly as well. The bartender was a total sweet heat too! This place also has amazing burritos- Just don't forget to ask for the sauce and cheese on top!

My family loved our meal here! I had the kale salad with grilled salmon, also adding avocado instead of cheese. It was the perfect choice - flavorful, healthier, a big portion, and a reasonable price. We also split 3 sides for $12, getting Brussels sprouts, plantains, and corn. They were all delicious as well. The corn was served on the cob in two pieces, so it might be easier to share it if you ask for it off the cob. I will definitely be back for good food and good times!

Bodega Taco Bar is a Mexican restaurant and tequila bar that opened in Fairfield, Connecticut in June 2011. It was founded by chef Michael Young, Luis Chavez and Mario Fontana. Young's father was a chef in a French restaurant. He studied his father very closely whenever he cooked a meal for the family. After coming of age, he worked at several Manhattan restaurants and even consulted at some. He also owns a popular Venezuelan restaurant in Norwalk called Valencia Luncheria. After opening Bodega, Young called his Mexican venture, "Tacos and tequila with a slice of Brooklyn." A second location opened in Darien in November 2012. The menu at both locations features tacos, burritos, various small plates, a weekend brunch menu, and a large selection of tequilas, mezcals, margaritas, and other Mexican craft cocktails. My wife, son and I visited the Darien location of Bodega this past weekend. We drove to Darien to attend a Pride Event, but upon arriving my wife realized that she misread the flyer and we had come on the wrong day. Not to worry... we decided to make the best of the situation and get lunch at one of Darien's many delicious restaurants. When we saw Bodega's exterior, we immediately decided that tacos sounded great! The interior of the place was really cozy and the staff were very friendly. First we had some Chips & Guacamole sent to the table and then my wife ordered a Passionrita and I ordered a Spicy Rita. Both the guac and our margaritas were really good! For the main dish, we decided to order multiple types of tacos to split up, including the Baja, Cochinita Pibil, Gambas, Argentino, Americano, Duck Mechado, and Brisket Street Style Tacos. We also ordered some Chicken Quesadillas for our son. These tacos were so good; very authentic tasting! I loved every taco I ate but my personal favorite was the Duck Mechado. It was so flavorful and the meat was super tender! Our son was very happy with his quesadillas. We had a great "happy accident" experience at Bodega and we would definitely go again.

Superb! Stopped for early dinner Sunday. Great atmosphere, and very prompt staff. Waiter offered up a starter and we split a Guacamole & Pico de Gallo half & half for our Antojito ( that's Spanish for "Antojito"). They don't mess around with guacamole portion size, it was a decent meal on its own with the delicious in-house made chips. Why aren't all taco places or Mexican restaurants like this? These were the best chips I've ever had, start to finish. The Tacos. Fantastic. Soft hot & fresh tortillas with our choices: a couple of Americanos, seasoned ground beef, manchego cheese, and salsa de rusa. Really delicious says my buddy. I went more exotic, especially since there is duck on the menu. I always go for duck whenever and whatever type restaurant has it. I love it. So the Duck carnitas exceeded my expectations. It came with crunchy cabbage slaw, creamy avocado-jalapeno dressing, and orange glaze. Really? Orange glaze? Well serve it to me again. I'm sure this is my favorite going forward. For my second, I had the Seared Tuna Taco. It comes with crushed avocado, ginger carrots, and sriracha aioli. Excellent as well, given how many places try to serve even a mediocre "fish" taco (usually dried out Mahi-Mahi). I just wish I'd eaten Seared Tuna second, because though good as it was, I was still thing about the duck. That's what another visit is for. Soon. Go now.

I always come here for the Baja fish tacos and the brussel sprouts appetizer, just perfection every time. The tacos are a nice size, you can easily eat 3-4. Americano tacos are also a guilty pleasure.

While the breakfast and brunch menu items were tempting, I was in the mood for a good old fashioned burger. There's just one on the menu, with specific toppings but I just got a regular cheddar cheese one with avocado and mayo on the side. The result was delicious and just what I needed on that gorgeous day. I actually started with a cookies & cream vanilla iced latte, and believe it or not it actually wasn't overly sweet and very well balanced. I tasted a strawberry ginger lemonade that someone else ordered which was great too, actually having strawberry fruit pieces in there. The interior was nice and bright, with kind of a nautical vibe which wouldn't be out of place since this area is very close to the ocean. The service was great, so for sure check out this fun spot if you're in the area!

They made some edits in that the salad overall was not warm and the sprouts were usually shredded and the kale was finely chopped. This was much different in that it wasn't chopped, shredded or warmed. It was extremely odd in that there were huge leaves of kale that weren't chopped. It was off putting. We spoke to the waitress and they said it was slightly different. They took the pile of kale away and were very kind about it. I think they comped one salad but that wasn't the intent. It made us sad because that was an amazingly delicious salad which became a letdown.

The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and really informative. They're happy to walk you through the menu and make recommendations based on what you like. It's also surprisingly vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, they offer vegan meats so you can swap them into a lot of the classic dishes, which is rare for a taqueria. The food is outstanding. Even the free chips and salsa they start you with are memorable: the chips are fresh and super crunchy, and the salsa has real depth of flavor, not just heat. The entrées are some of the best value around, the burritos are massive (one could easily feed two or three people), and for takeout, the quesadillas literally come in a pizza box, which tells you everything you need to know about portion size. Their appetizers, queso, and house-made hot sauce are all excellent and full of flavor, not just spice. Most times I've been, the service has been fast, even when they're busy.
