the best mexican food order
Mary Y.

Do Not Order Delivery from Here! A scam is going on I believe. There is a direct link on their website "order online". The food doesn't show up, the restaurant says they're not responsible for the drivers....someone is eating very well!! Below is a photo showing the link I ordered from and the restaurant is NOT standing by the link!

Hidden Gem! Stopped in for dinner with my husband on a Wendsday to switch up my normal Wednesday routine of beer and wings. I was pleasantly surprised. Although the place was not crowded (which I didn't mind) it was more of an intimate atmosphere. I was very excited to see they had alcohol as well as beer and wine choices. The waitress was very attentive, knowledgeable and patient as we were not familiar with some items on the menu. The only reason I didn't give five stars was a knat kept flying around the entire time whdining ***ADDED BONUS happy hour 4PM- 10 We will definitely be back!!

Lomo Saltado with Mexican rice by choice, it's usually served with white rice

Hidden Gem!! I love the lomo here! It's so good, and fresh. I also like the carne empanadas a lot! They have a lot of options on their menu, so it's a good place to go for everyone to choose something different. The place is clean and has nice seating. My only negative comment is that they don't really have any condiments besides homemade, the only thing that would make the lomo even better would be some cholula hot sauce!!! I also recommend the tres leches!

Huevos divorciados. Very good. I must say they have improved the packaging. With a side of Chicken Empanadas.

Huevos Divorciados and a side of Chicken Empanadas. Very Good. My favorite Breakfast. On time. Coffee is good. Packaging has improved, I'm glad to know.

Hidden gem serving Latin American cuisine in Stamford. I've been here for lunch and dinner; the…read moremenus differ slightly, but there are dishes to love in both. The meal always starts out with yummy plantain chips and pico de gallo salsa on the house. They have a variety of delicious-sounding cocktails; I typically get their refreshing red sangria. From their appetizers (in both the lunch and dinner menus), their empanadas are a stand out. The dish comes with three empanada flavors: beef, chicken, and pork. They're cut in half and served with a creamy guajillo pepper sauce. So full of flavor. Another delicious appetizer (only available in the dinner menu) is the "pinchos de churrasco", three grilled skirt steak skewers with chimichurri sauce. In terms of entrees, the "bistec a caballo" (from the lunch menu) is a must-try! It's a skirt steak that comes with caramelized onions and peppers, rice, black beans, sweet plantains, and a fried egg. The "churrasco gaucho" (from the dinner menu) is my other go-to. It consists of a 12 oz grass fed prime NY strip steak served with roasted asparagus, baby gold potatoes, and chimichurri sauce. These entrees are huge; I definitely recommend sharing. For dessert, I've tried their crepes filled with dulce de leche and the tres leches cake, which is topped with guava sorbet. My preference for tres leches cake is for the cake to be very moist, so I found this cake to be on the drier side. The sorbet is quite sweet and tropical, so I wish the tres leches cake came with a different flavor of sorbet, or with the sorbet on the side. The desserts aren't the most impressive part of the meal, but they're still worth trying. Service is fast and I love their interior decoration! The parking lot is quite small, but they have valet parking.

Good food, and it is so much fun in the summer with their little outside bar situation. I love some…read moreof their cocktails. Service is generally good.

There were four of us for dinner and the other three meals were equally bad. Additionally, we ordered rice and beans as nothing comes with the overpriced food, and the rice was uncooked pretty much throughout. The kicker to this entire experience -- we started seeing mice running all around the tables near where we were sitting. We addressed these concerns with our waiter as well as the employee (Stephen) who claimed he was covering for the manager tonight and he acted as though he could care less that our meals were bad and told us "he will get the mice." The health department should be called on this restaurant. Upon arrival, we asked about the Happy Hour that they advertise and were told by the waiter they do not do Happy Hour. Worse restaurant I've eaten at in my entire life, and I will never come back here. I would not recommend this restaurant whatsoever. Overpriced and the lowest quality of food I've even seen in my entire life. Additionally, customer service is non-existent. Not once we asked how our meal was, what could be done with making this experience right, etc. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE - you will get a better meal at Taco Bell! The Managers/Owners should be ashamed to serve what they serve in this place. Here's my tip -- get mouse traps or bring an exterminator in before you open your doors!

Olé Molé is an authentic Mexican restaurant that opened in Stamford, Connecticut in 1994. It was…read morefounded by Texas native Laura Coronado. Growing up in a Mexican heritage household, Coronado was raised on traditional made-from-scratch dishes that are commonly found in Northern and Central Mexico. Eventually she decided to open up her own restaurant at Stamford's High Ridge Shopping Center. For over 30 years, Olé Molé has been offering consumers authentic Mexican cuisine crafted with consistent quality and fresh ingredients. The menu offers traditional staples such as enchiladas, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, tacos, tamales, and tostadas. At one point, Olé Molé had additional locations in the nearby towns of Darien, Southport, and Fairfield, but they have since closed. My wife and I recently had lunch at Olé Molé. She is a Stamford native and has eaten here multiple times, but it was the first visit for me. We met up with my wife's parents. The interior is cozy and inviting. Margaritas sounded like a great way to get the fiesta started. I had the "Margarita Olé" (tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave), my wife had "Mango" (tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave, mango puree), and my mother-in-law had "Strawberry" (tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave, strawberry puree). They were just what the doctor ordered! We also ordered some delicious "Guacamole" (fresh Hass avocado, jalapeño, onion, garlic & cilantro w/ chips) for the table. For entrees, I had the "Quesadilla Del Mar" (grilled shrimp, sliced avocado, spinach, tomato, grilled onion, Monterey Jack), my wife had the "Grilled Shrimp Fajitas" (grilled w/ peppers & onion, served w/ guacamole), my father-in-law had the "Vegetariano Burrito" (vegetables, beans & cheese w/ salsa fresca), and my mother-in-law had the "Enchiladas Suizas" (shredded chicken, vegetables & cheese in red corn tortillas, topped w/ salsa verde & mole negro). Everything tasted so fresh, flavorful, and authentic! The staff were lovely too! I had an excellent experience at Olé Molé and I would love to enjoy their Mexican food again soon!

Generously sized and well priced, good looking tacos. I enjoyed them with one exception. In NorCal, I am used to, crispy, browned carnitas. On the east coast, it's more like just "fatty mushy pork with occasional pieces of cartilage" :P I think this place is fine as long as you're not a carnitas snob like me. I'll probably come here again and just stick to carne asada y pollo.

Review for El Torito - Stamford, CT…read more So there I was on a blazing Monday afternoon, car in the shop, stomach growling like a telenovela villain--and El Torito just happened to be down the block, calling my name like a tortilla whisperer. From the outside, it's humble. Picnic tables chillin' under the trees like they're on siesta. Step inside, and it's got that cozy, no-frills, straight-up neighborhood vibe. A handful of tables, a big ol' fan, because air conditioning? Not today. And a TV on the wall pumping out reggaetón to keep things spicy. The place had a steady stream of locals rolling in for takeout, which is always a good sign in my book. The menu? A glorious cross-cultural Latin American mixtape. Mexican, Salvadoran, maybe even some Peruvian influence--it's like taking your taste buds on a backpacking trip without the altitude sickness. Bonus points for menu photos so you don't end up accidentally ordering goat brain stew (unless that's your thing). I ordered up the carne asada and a cold Coke, then sat back and let the meat magic happen. A few scrolls into my phone, my plate arrived - and Ay Güey, it was a vision. Grilled steak, marinated to perfection, lounging on a soft bed of Mexican rice, crowned with whole grilled green onions like a steak tiara. A side of creamy pinto beans, fresh tortillas, and two salsas: one a chunky pico de gallo(well, sort of), the other a smooth firewater(mild). And let me tell you - I devoured it. That carne asada didn't stand a chance. The meat was tender, smoky, and full of flavor. The rice was fluffy, the beans velvety, and everything was hot and fresh. No bite left behind. Paid at the counter with a smile on my face and carne-ful soul. El Torito isn't trying to impress you with bells and whistles--it's just bringing the heat with real-deal Latin American flavor, honest portions, and friendly vibes. Come hungry. Leave happy. Maybe a little sweaty.
