I had such wonderful help from Chris last week with a lock on my patio door! He went 150% To help us. What a good choice I made with this company. Thank you Chris read more

I work for a non-profit and we have used this company as our go to locksmith for the past 15 years but will not be using them again. Had to transfer our door lock software to a new computer. Tech shows up on time, spends about a half hour here, uses my flash drive to transfer the data but has to look at my manual to see if there are any instructions on how to do it. Seemed to me he had no idea what he was doing but somehow managed to get it figured out. Got the bill and was charged for an hour labor as well as an $85 service charge for a total of $220, which was very different than the quote I received over the phone. When I called to dispute it, they said the tech was here for 52 minutes (untrue) but that they would adjust it to a half hour of labor versus the hour. When I asked what time he said he was here from, they said 9:18 to 10:10, which is a lie. I don't even get here until 9:30 and he didn't show up till 9:40. The billing person didn't seem to care much when I brought this up. After hanging up, I realized I couldn't let it go so I called back to speak with the service manager. I let him know that I was grateful the billing person adjusted the invoice. I then told him I thought he should be aware that the technician was dishonest in reporting the time he was here. His response "okay, thanks". Are you kidding me??? It's very clear that they do not care about honesty or integrity at this company. read more

Thank you to Bode and Bode for their wonderful help today! My key was stuck in the ignition in my car. How? Why? I didn't know and was so frustrated. Turned out it was an issue with something blocking my gear shift. Yes I'm blonde. These guys figured it out quickly, easily and with a smile....no charge. Now that's great customer service! Thanks again for saving my day. read more

I recommend going to Bode & Bode Lock & Safe. Not only John helped me out pick a safe box. He was also able to deliver it to my house since the safe box would not fit in my car. They have friendly customer service and the price is just right. read more

Walked in here today with a 100+ year old skeleton key door lockset and walked out with a new key. Matt cleaned up the hardware, inspected the internal components, and even did some minor customization of the new key to ensure it fit properly. The best part is he only charged me $7 for cost of the blank skeleton key. These guys are now my first choice for anything lock/key related. read more

Great service, fast and they have everything lock and key related that you can imagine!

Bode & Bode re-keyed one door for me and charged an agreed $102 for the job. Included in the "deal" was to be 2 new keys. Fine. When the job was done, they had all kinds of stipulations for 2 keys which I still don't understand. The fact is, they said it came with 2 new keys and that's what I thought was the bottom line. They finally said come in and we'll key one key for you at no-charge. Come on guys, you're splitting hairs over one key? How cheap can a business be? I would not recommend B&B just based on this experience. read more

Locked my keys in the car like dumby! Anyway, called these guys & they were awesome! They sent someone out right away and they were quick, reasonable and on time! Good work, boys! Good work. read more

My first visit was 3 years ago. I had keys duplicated and my car key remote batteries replaced. They were quick, friendly and affordable. My 2nd visit was today. Same thing today, walked in, had my car key remote batteries replaced and I was out the door. I would recommend visiting this business. read more

I have a 1929 home and the front door was jammed shut. I made an appointment and the truck showed up. After working for a while, the door was opened. The serviceman took the entire lock mechanism back to the shop where a master locksmith was able to repair some of the broken springs. Within about 2 hours, the serviceman was back and reinstalled the lock and doorknob. The lock is not perfect, but about as good as it can be now for an 80 years old lock. Great service. read more

My husband had Bode & Bode Lock & Safe company come out to the house as he lock himself out of a interior door. $125.00 !!!! His son could've opened it with a bobby pin or paper clip had he been around. Way too much.....just to open the door. No keys were made, just an inflated amount.....live and learn. read more

Due to the theft of one set of our house keys, I needed to re-key the locksets on three doors (5 locksets). I was overwhelmed when I opened the phone book to see hundreds of locksmiths--who do I choose? It was suggested that we use a local business, Bode and Bode Locksmith, as they have been in business in Sacramento since 1911. I called on Sunday evening and scheduled an appointment (between 8-10 am) for Monday morning. The technician, Adam, called Monday morning at 9, arrived on time, and finished the work in about a half an hour--cost of about $180. Adam was courteous, professional and efficient. I'm told that they stand behind their work. I would definitely recommend this business for lock work. read more

Very friendly and professional staff and owners. I had to get 2 super heavy big safes open (the old fashion bomb-resistant bank vault kind of heavy big, like maybe 1000 and 2000 pound kind of heavy), along with over a dozen door knobs rekeyed. Very good communication between me, their office, and the guys who came out. Even the owner came by to check in and help. Also very prompt and trustworthy. I would recommend Bode & Bode in a heartbeat. Many thanks and kudos to Ben for his work! read more

Very impressed with the professionalism and customer service (Stephanie). We will return only here over other competitors. Couldn't be more satisfied with the service she gave us and handing our questions. Thank you .... read more

Great, quick service--we just had 15 keys cut for our office complex. Folks were friendly and efficient, and cost is very reasonable. Great little business! read more

Wayne arrived about 20 minutes after I called at 6 pm this evening. He was quick, efficient and friendly. Great service! I always know that Bode and Bode will take care of me. read more

Awesome company that was right on time with service. Silly me locked my purse in the car on the front seat! My car was out by the bank and in front of Safeway on 19th. Definitely not a good place to leave your purse on the front seat at all. So I called the great girl at Bode and she sent a guy within 30 minutes. He was able to get the car open and disable the alarm! Extra work with the extra mile. He was also very professional and helped me looked for my lost keys. I eventually found them in Safeway but hey, Bode and Bode saved my purse! read more

I have been casually looking for a place that could make me a spare key for my 1955 dodge for the past four years. No luck. On my way into bonehead tattoo, I decided to see if they had the blank. 5 minutes later I walked out of there with two new keys for less than $10. The blanks sell on eBay for $20. They are the best at what they do, and incredibly cool to boot. I highly recommend their services. read more

I called Bode and Bode and got a same day arrival. Wayne, the locksmith, arrived about an hour later and was my hero for the day! He fixed what was wrong, told me about some other reasons why it could have gone wrong, and was friendly and speedy. I will ALWAYS call Bode and Bode for my locksmith work. They are trustworthy, speedy, and friendly! read more

I had to get keys copied and the only time I was able to make it was after work. I ended up arriving a a little before they closed at five, and I felt kind of terrible for being one of those last minute customers... But I just needed keys made. The sales counter clerk was very nice and courteous and I think since they closed up the register for the day, and didn't want to refuse a customer, he offered to make the service complimentary. A little surprised, I asked, "Are you sure?!" And he replied, "Yes, because I hope, as a new customer, you'll come back to us for your future services." Truth be told, it was my second or third time there, probably within the last five years. I had told him that, but he still acknowledged it all the same. Overall, they are a nice business, conveniently located downtown and have great customer service! I highly recommend them. read more

I purchased a home last fall from people who did not leave it in good condition and left only one house key. No mailbox key. With the help of the mail carrier, I removed the original mailbox lock and installed an inexpensive one purchased at HD. It did not fit well and seemed vulnerable to tampering so once I decided to correct the situation I looked up locksmiths on Yelp. The first, AND the second businesses I went to were no longer in business. So I called my local Ace to see if they could re-key the original lock. They said no but recommended Bode & Bode Lock & Safe. I visited Bode and although they could not re-key the original they had an exact replacement. Problem solved! And they can re-key my whole house when I buy new entry sets. read more

Love this place. They're speedy, professional, super friendly, and community-oriented. Yet another example of the awesomeness of Midtown.

Best locksmith in town and they are the nicest people, too--especially the girl up front! We get all our keys cut there and I always look forward to going there and checking out the toys. read more

Great work, but very expensive. I live literally blocks from their shop, but there is a flat fee of like 50.00 or something for a service call. They should consider a sliding scale on the distance they have to travel, then I would bump up the stars :) For now, if I have anymore issues, I think my sister found someone that will come out for much cheaper or I will shop around. read more

Dead bolt and knob recode, and 4 keys copied all done in 15 minutes on a Saturday morning! Excellent!

Floyd came to fix a frenchdoor handle that had broken off. It could not be fixed, so he drove around to several places until he found just the exact same lock; came back and put it in, and he he never charged me a dime for all the time he spent looking for the lock. He is a peach, and a very calm, lovely man. I love Bode & Bode. You will love them too. read more

Thanks to help, I found Bode and Bode, who opened my lock box quickly and cheaply. Friendly service.

Fast, professional, and friendly. I read the other Yelp reviews and discovered the shop was close by. I will use again the next time I need keys copied. read more

I got locked out of apartment today and called Bode and Bode to let me in. The guy that helped me was Greg. Awesome dude. Super helpful, professional and fast worker. I highly recommend calling this place. read more

These guys are the best! This is the 3rd time they've helped me. This time they came out & fixed everything another locksmith company had screwed up (never contact a company that identifies themselves as Locksmith Services). This is the first time I worked with Paul from Bode & Bode. Ask for him. He's awesome! read more

Rip off. They charged me $18.50 to rekey a single lock. It only took 3 mins and a new double package costs $33. Look around for another shop. If they are this expensive for something so simple then I can't trust them for other work. Email me if you have a question. Jorgensen_g@yahoo.com read more

Professional, knowledgable, in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. Thank you Bode & Bode Lock & Safe.

I needed emergency parts for a very old panic door. I called a couple places, and everyone told me they would need to be ordered - no one would have them in stock. They went the extra mile and searched through their boxes to find the parts I needed. They even apologized the parts were so expensive, but they were actually cheaper than I could have ordered online. Great customer service. read more

I can't say enough good things about Bode and Bode! They called ahead to re-confirm the time. Arrived exactly on tiime.....were efficient, friendly and made great recommendations...and all came in at the price they quoted..AND they have a coupon on line..so I got their minimum fee of $105 for $80. Call them! read more

Insanely, rude. Especially the manager, Mark. The key they cut didn't work. They told me to go pound sand. Take your business elsewhere.

This is a great company,I use them for all my key and lock needs.

We bought a safe from Bode and Bode two months ago. Haven't had any issues until today. No matter what I did the safe would not open. We were 100% sure of the correct code. I called and spoke to a very nice woman who said she would could send out a technician today. That was wonderful! Doug came out and he was very polite and professional. He tried to enter the same code without any luck. He called in and talked to someone and got a code to reset the safe to the factory code. Again, that was great! So we changed the code to a new one. Doug still had trouble getting it to open. It worked some of the time or not. Long story short, apparently the handle has to be in just the right position or it won't work. If someone at their office had JUST suggested we try that before sending out a technician we wouldn't have had to pay the $150.00 to come out. This is an expensive safe that we bought from them. We could have paid a fraction of the price at Costco. Seems like they would have handled this in a more positive customer service manner. Not happy! We had no problem with the technician. He wasn't the problem. read more

first time using bode and response was surprising. Called on Wednesday at 8:30am and Greg showed up at 9:30am. He rekeyed 4 locks within 30 minutes and they all worked well. The only reservation on 5 stars is the graphite residue left on the hallway floor after he left. read more

I'd lost last key to MC, they were very service-oriented, conscious of how much time you spend waiting, very expert, picked the locked gas cap, looked up the key code under it and cut the correct key within 10 min of my arrival at shop. Only quibble was I still got charged the full $75 they would have charged had they had to reverse-engineer key and hand-grind, but I'd still make it 4.5 stars if it were available. Overall, excellent and personable. Handy downtown location with parking. read more
