I had a great experience with Frantz Locksmith Service. I ran into an unusual issue with my classic car--the locking gas cap had completely seized up, and I was unable to get it unlocked or removed. I called Robert, explained the situation, and he was more than willing to take on the job. I scheduled an appointment, and within about an hour, Robert and his partner were there to help. What seemed like it should have been a simple job turned out to be very tedious and challenging. Robert showed a tremendous amount of patience, focus, and determination. He refused to give up until he was able to completely remove the locked gas cap without damaging my classic car. He truly went above and beyond, and getting that gas cap off completely made my day! I couldn't be happier with the service I received. Robert was professional, persistent, and clearly takes pride in his work. I highly recommend Frantz Locksmith Service. Robert is definitely one of the best, and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again! read more

Worked with Robert for years. If the other guys can't do it, call Robert!! Or just call him in the first place so you don't waste your time read more

What a true professional in every sense of the word. My car was stolen along with our house keys so I called Robert to come re-key the locks. He arrived exactly on time, showed us his credentials to calm our fears, changed all the locks out, and was a kind, caring human being to boot! He even fixed some things at no additional charge that he noticed were wrong and was here well after his posted closing time. They don't make them like this anymore. I will gladly sing his praises to anyone who will listen. read more

I wasn't able to open the digital lock on my safe and called the store where we purchased it and was directed to Frantz Mobile Locksmith Service after the store's suggestions didn't solve the problem. Mr. Frantz took the time to talk me through possible fixes so I wouldn't have to incur the expense of having someone come to my house. He was patient and solved my problem over the phone. He could not have been more kind and helpful. Thank you!! read more

Very professional and prompt. He taught me what went wrong and why. He even checked all the other locks to see if any would fail soon and lubricated another one just to make my life a little easier. He exceeded expectations and I highly recommend. read more

PLEASE READ!!! What locksmith takes your call on a Saturday and walks you through an issue for an hour then calls you back with more information on how to resolve the issue and doesn't charge you? Robert Frantz did. I'm not saying this is how he does business on the daily but he did this for my husband yesterday and was successful!! Long story short we purchased a large safe that would not go through my doorways so my husband had to remove exterior parts connected to the interlocking mechanisms of the safe. He slipped it through the doorway then tried to pull the door open and relized the latches locked during the move, and he had the handle taken off that opens the safe... Robert new every piece of the locking mechanisms to this particular brand of safe and explained exactly how it worked and how to get it unlocked. Very impressive!!!!Not to mention he offered to take the service call that day on a Saturday evening if was not successful..... Can't thank him enough. Thank you so much Robert!! read more

Robert was AWESOME!!! I have been dealing with a bad EMP lock on a Cannon safe. I had the safe for 13 years and the analog portion of the lock went bad. After dealing with Cannon warranty department for close to 4 months, jumping thru hoops to get repairs made, they finally approved repairs. Frantz Locksmith Services were selected and a new lock was sent to them. Once new lock was delivered Robert came over to replace the lock and spent over 2 hours to repair while I was at work and wife at home. When I got home I found I was able to open the safe at a specific number on the dial. I called Robert immediately and he was back at the house in minutes. He determined quickly it was a defective lock. Because I have a safe that wont lock, with firearms and valuables with children in the house, he put a new, lock that he happened to have. The lock is MUCH better then original lock. Robert went ABOVE and Beyond to make sure my valuables were secure. I've dealt with 2 other locksmiths before, who's names I wont mention, and I will recommend FRANTZ LOCKSMITH SERVICE every day of the week!!!!! Thank you Guys!!!!!! read more

I needed a locksmith to rekey my front entry door. It was a complicated lock with a three point locking mechanism. Normally the lock would be picked while it's in the door but my lock needed to be removed in order to rekey it. Mr. Frantz was very patient and explained the process to me (per my request). He also rekeyed another door lock and deadbolt for me. read more

The quote I got was not what I ended up doing. I changed my project to rekey both a cylinder and a lever lock and didn't get a quote for that. So I selected another locksmith instead. read more

AAA+ Experience. Not only was Robert and Karina [hope my spelling is right!] here within a few hours of the call he had all of the doors in our house re-keyed and even changed a lock to a different door that was not as easy to open so it was on a door we would use the least. He had everything done in 20 minutes and had me check all the doors to make sure I was happy and that he had done everything to satisfaction. Could not have been a better experience and if you need a locksmith call him he is wonderful! He even held my new rescue pup and helped him relax around a stranger in the home. Icing to the cake. He gave me an extra key copy and a key with a larger head since I had mentioned I preferred them. Thank you both so much, if we ever need any key or locksmith services you guys are it! read more

The owner of Frantz Locksmith Service is one of the best. This guy eats, sleeps, and breathes locksmithing. It's not his job. It's his passion. I have seen his work and I have seen him doing his job. Unbelievable! Now I'm not just saying all this as a shameless plug. This guy really knows his business! The various governmental agencies use him for their advanced security needs. So you can be sure he will handle anything and everything you could possibly throw at him. I even saw a woman break out in tears after he helped her and that is no bull. Not only that, but other locksmiths go to him for advice. Does he charge them anything for it. No. And now I see they rank higher and that's not fair especially when he built their businesses. You know, you hear all kinds of hype and crap out there, but this guy even refuses to put testimonials on his website! I really don't mind saying it, but I never thought I would get excited with someones business, especially a locksmith. This company rocks! read more

When I asked a friend for a good locksmith, she immediately recommended Robert Frantz, who has done commercial work for her business for the past few years. Robert was prompt in returning phone calls and emails, and gave me a very competitive quote. Knowing who's in your home and changing your locks is important! He sent a trusted associate to do the work the next morning. She arrived right on time and handled all the work in about an hour, explaining how she had re-keyed the locks so I could understand the process and the degree of theft-proofing involved. Now I know we're safe from a prowler entering our home and accidentally stepping on our dog or cat. Thanks Robert! read more

I had a commercial project installing several Alarmlock products which most locksmiths (even those who claim to do commercial work) tend to either charge obscene amounts for or don't touch at all. He did the work, did it honestly, did it reasonable, and did it incredibly well. I plan to hire him on several other upcoming projects based on the experience. Thank you! read more

This experience was super painless and easy. I called because I locked us out of our apartment when we took our dog out for a walk/potty break (whoops!). To find a locksmith with integrity and honesty is always a good find. I was referred to Frantz by NorCal locksmith and he was able to come out the next morning. He was on time and determined to keep his 100% lock opening reputation. I had a terrible internal lock failure that had to be drilled open. It had a snapped spring retaining tab and other problems. I luckily had another safe top which he modified to fit. That was awesome and saved me a bunch of money on buying a new safe top. True 5 star business. read more

I had some locks rekeyed in my house. Robert Frantz was very professional. He made sure we saw his State locksmith license and assured us that he was also insured and bonded before he began the job. Robert has 20+ years of experience. His prices were very reasonabe and he was able to finish the job within 45 minutes. I even asked him to make a few extra keys for a gate that was not being rekeyed and the keys worked out great. In the past, I had gone to Home Depot and a couple of other places to made extra gate keys & found it frustrating that it did not work when I got home. Overall, it was a great experience. read more

I lost my only key to my truck and needed to have a transponder key remade, I called multiple companies and spoke to call centers for quotes. When I called Frantz Locksmith I reached Robert Frantz directly he gave me the most reasonable quote $160 ( Ford dealer $1200 tow+keys) told me he was busy in the afternoon but could come right now. Great! He arrived and was very professional gave me his lic. # and advised me that he was in business for 27 reputable years, and listed with the BBB. Very important since I was trusting him with reprogramming my ignition computer. He asked for the proper ownership verification of my vehicle and quickly went to work. He was quick and very sympathetic to my situation, I will forever remember the service provided and if I am ever in a situation where a small or large lock job is required Robert Frantz will be called upon. read more

Stood up by my locksmith?!? wow! I am utterly surprised by a lack of basic professionalism. We arranged an appt - between 11-1pm for Robert to come and see if he is able to repair a lock on the original door of my new home and to change out the deadbolts, fairly run of the mill, I am sure. 1:10 I called Robert, "hey, its me, we had a appt today? you were supposed to be here by one?" Him: "Oh, yeah, you wanted your locks changed. Yeah, well I am cracking this safe, I am almost done..It should be an hour." Me: "Oh, Ok, well, I have been waiting to run some errands, but if you are going to be later than 3pm, please call me and we will arrange something else." Him: "Yeah sure, ok, no problem." It is 4:35, no locksmith, no call. Unbelievable. read more

I was visiting Davis for the weekend and my motorcycle key snapped in half. Robert Frantz inspected the lock and determined that the key was not in the ignition. He told me to check my pocket for the second half of the key. His intuition was correct, and he was able to make me a new key (even gave me two for the price of one). The guy is real nice and worked very quickly. He also drives anywhere around Sacramento for a flat rate which is cool. I recommend Frantz locksmiths to anyone in need of a locksmith. read more

Robert is the locksmith that other locksmiths use when they get into trouble with safes and pretty much anything that locks. He makes his own tools and hasn't had an unsuccessful service call in over 25 years. Need a safe recommendation? He's the guy to talk to, he knows all their weaknesses. He opened 50 safes from homes in the Napa and Camp wildfires so he knows which are truly fireproof. He is very professional and has some great stories that kept me intrigued and entertained. The ideal locksmith is not only the one that gets the job done, but the one you can TRUST. Look no further than Robert. read more

service from these guys is about as good as it gets. my wife and i had them come out to fix the front door lock on our house. mind you our house was built in 1912 so the locks weren't exactly new... an awesome lady came out, basically rebuilt the lock, made the keys fit all tight like everything was brand new! spent a lot of time and the bill was nowhere near what i expected!! we forgot to ask her about another problem we were having. (quite embarrassed) so i called back the next day and spoke to the owner. he came out himself that day! took care of the other issue (door wasn't exactly shutting right, he had to chisel out some wood+grind down the striker plate) had it done in about a half hour and didn't charge us anything!! i couldn't be happier with my new locksmiths!!! so overall= great people, great pricing.... just AMAZING! read more

My uncle recently passed away and I was given his truck. The truck is older and not worth much money. The truck had a locked camper shell on it, and I didn't have the key to open it. Normally I wouldn't care, I would just sell it as is. Well there was a bunch of crap in the bed of the truck that I needed to clean out and since the shell was locked I couldn't get to it. I found a locksmith to come out for a very reasonable price. The problem was he was a no call no show. He had me waiting for him at 10am on a Saturday. That's where Frantz came into the picture. I gave him a call once it was apparent the other guy was not coming. He said he was on his way to Lincoln and was going to be passing right by me, and if I met him right off of the freeway, he would do it for the same price I was quoted from the other locksmith. So not only did he give me a great deal, but he definitely new what he was doing. He opened the camper shell in seconds. I would highly recommend him. read more
