Newly opened hotel which we were desperate to try out so we popped in for lunch( would book as they were turning people away!) first impressions were very good. They have spent a lot of money on the refurbishment and it shows, the decor is beautiful and perfect for weddings etc. I don't feel I could do it justice in this review!we were shown to a table and then forgotten about for a good 25 mins which wasn't a great start as I had to chase someone down for menus etc, after that service was ok. Girl was lovely but we kept having to grab her attention for things. We had the light lunch menu which has sandwiches, burger, fish and chips etc as well as afternoon tea. I opted for the chicken ceaser salad which was lovely but way overpriced at £12 for the tiny portion size. To be honest I wished I had just got a ciabatta as they looked very good. The best bit was the scones were amazing! Homemade and yummy! From having a nosey at other tables Afternoon tea looked good too! We had a look in the function suite on the way out and it is stunning! Lots of sparkle and chrome.Overall I was very impressed with the decor and building, it's really lovely and I can't wait to go back for a meal and some cocktails however I've taken a star off for the service ( would have just been half a star but won't let me!)but hopefully this is just teething issues. read more
