However... Our most recent experience was in late Nov'18 when we hired him to take our family of 6 to the airport at 530am for flight. He confirmed the trip and was in communication with us up to 3 days prior but then we never heard from him again. The night before he wasnt confirming the pickup time, at 5am we were leaving desperate messages on his phone and text. Never heard back. We ended up having to drive in and pay for a week of parking, luckily we could squeeze all 6 into my truck. And there's the bonus of them not trying to tack on a million charges like traditional rental places. I mean, yeah, the cars aren't the cutest in the world, but you can turn the key and go and get yourself to work. The car I got was a '97, but it ran great and everything worked fine. The clerk told me it was ready to go but I saw the last customer leaving the vehicle and asked her if they cleaned their cars between rentals. She said in this case she could give me "a cleaning wipe to use" myself. That was my first red flag, but I was in need of the car so I went ahead and authorized the rental agreement. She then said they would run a $200 security deposit that "would be returned if the car was returned in the same condition." At this point I had second thoughts about this place and said I wanted to check another place before I decided to rent this unclean minivan. The woman at the counter (Kelly maybe?) said she would gladly rip up the agreement should I decide not to rent it. I never touched the car, and she drove it around back. Twenty minutes later I called Star but got their voicemail. I left a clear message telling them to cancel the rental. I thought we were good. When I got home from the trip I noticed the $200 security deposit was charged to my CC even though I had canceled the rental and the clerk told me the agreement would be "ripped up" should I decide not to rent there. I just disputed the charge with my CC company and am awaiting their investigation into the matter. But I'm hoping Star will do the right thing, realize their mistake, and refund my $200 (without CC intervention) so we can put this behind us. I'll let you know what happens!!

I rented (out-of-pocket) from this location for over a year. I worked with Nicole…read more I was extremely uncomfortable with Nicole's conduct as my rental agent. One example: I called someone else within the company to ask a question, and the next morning Nicole called me at home and yelled at me for speaking with anyone but her. I was severely chastised for about 20 minutes. I could hear that she was afraid that others in the company might see her as "uninformed", and I could also tell based on a previous conversation that she was taking her anger at someone else, out onto me. I did not appreciate being called while having my morning coffee in peace, and being dumped on like that. At the end of my long relationship here, (about $15,000 later), at the 11th hour, Nicole extended my rental without my permission, authorized funds in my bank account I didn't approve, and was avoiding my phone calls. This was done to cause me harm, stress and worry. I had finally been able to buy a car. Nicole did NOT like this. I suggest Avis find another representative to work at this office. I do not see things ending well with this one.
