I received the wrong car from what I reserved, and the vehicle provided was very dirty and poorly maintained. customer service sucks, Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff, I was given no refund, adjustment, or proper resolution, just a bunch of excuses. This level of service is extremely disappointing and does not reflect the standards Avis claims to uphold. This location blamed the corporate not delivering the car and Avis customer service told us it's the location responsibility to deliver . It's a total dysfunctional business that you can't trust . I never wanted an electric car, but was told even since you reserved one, there is at least a month wait. She was incredibly rude all three times of dealing with her telling me " I been doing this 25 years" and " My name is June" The vehicle l rented broke down on 6/22 and l was called by Avis Emergency Management Service with a voicemail on 6/23 stating the vehicle you rented was successfully towed to an Avis location and everything is COMPLETE. But after paying for Uber twice on Monday 6/23 and Tuesday 6/24, Evghenia ( who tells people her name is June) told me we will CONTINUE TO BILL your credit card on file and there are NO REPLACEMENT vehicles for you, This is definitely so kind of shady business going on. Yes my credit got charged again today 6/28 AFTER 6 Days the car l rented broke down and no replacement. This has been a nightmare, l am an Uber driver now with no vehicle and no work. Plus close to $200 in Uber Fees to get back and forth to this location. She is more busy on her personal phone and NEVER answers the business phone, don't waste your time trying, calls get transferred over seas. Stay away from Avis in Dedham, Massachusetts. Was given a Chevy Trax (intermediate SUV) and was told they were an equivalent rental so no discount. There were no other vehicles readily available so had to take the car. Agent at the location was unprofessional to say the least. Called Avis customer service and they were useless, said they couldn't do anything until the folio was closed. Turned the car in and they offered approximately a $50 discount. Have filed a fraud claim with my credit card company and have also filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau. read more

We booked a car Friday night (7/14/23) for a Saturday pickup at 10AM (7/15/23). We get there and they tell us that our 5AM pickup can't be made because they have no cars at all. We showed her our confirmation and she just shrugged and said no cars at all for anyone. She offered no solution when we told her we were stranded and showed no emotion. Arrogant. Pushy. Vulgar. Finally tried to have me call another location. My only ask was to extend the rental. Kept me on hold for 20mins then transferred me to a call center in the Caribbeans. The call center ping pinged me between 6 "specialist" each next more arrogant than the last. Forst 5 said they cannot help (could not articulate why) The last one implied i am stupid when i asked about the fees to do the extension. Dedham location just stopped answering calls. Do not use Avis. Do not use Budget. Unless off course you like to be treated like crap. They overbook and cancel reservations on a whim with no prior notice. Avoid like a plague. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avis in Dedham rented a car out to me that had previous damage to the splash guard on the front left tire, without notifying me. The splash guard was never correctly repaired and was being held in place by a cord as opposed to bolts. This only became aware to me when the cord snapped and the splash guard came fully loose. After discovering this, I took the car back to Avis to get it replaced, to which they simply told me they have no options to replace it, and that the car was fully safe to drive. Not more than an hour later, the loose splash guard ripped the tire open and I had to go to 3 different Avis locations in Massachusetts attempting to get the car replaced, none of them had any cars in stock (I do not know how that is even possible). DO NOT rent from this Avis or any other Avis, ever. They do not care about the safety of their cars or your safety, and quite frankly should not even be able to operate a business. read more

Don't go here, especially if you value your safety during COVID-19. I went here to avoid the airport rental car pickup during the pandemic, and it was a mistake. To start, I had to find the location with very poor, hand-written signage, as it is located inside of a Holiday Inn. When I went to the rental counter, the woman (who had no other customers) did not look up at me, as she was in the middle of a task. She continued to go that task for another solid 5 minutes before she looked up or acknowledged me, knowing full well that I was there. When I was finally acknowledged, she asked for all of my information, not asking if I was a Fast Break member, which I was. The entire reason that I had signed up for Fast Break was so I could facilitate the rental process and be inside as less as possible during the pandemic. She said she couldn't find my Fast Break information and we had to go through the whole rental process. When I got to the vehicle, I was horrified by the condition of it. I see all of these commercials and website messaging touting how rental car companies are doing everything they can to maintain cleanliness during this time and going the extra mile to clean vehicles. That couldn't have been further from the truth in this case. As you can see in the photos, there was bird feces, dead bugs, a scratch and marker on the exterior of the vehicle and caked on food, smudges, hair, and dried liquid spillage on the inside of the vehicle. I had to sit in the parking lot and clean the car for 30min because I did not feel safe driving it off of the lot during this pandemic. It was completely obvious that this car had not been cleaned at all in between users. All in all, a really bad experience. Will never use Budget again. read more

Had a reservation from another location with a 6pm drop off here. The hours online and on the door say they are open until 6pm. I arrived at 5:50pm and they were already closed. There was another customer there who arrived at 5:45pm to pick up a car and was on the phone with customer service because they were closed when he arrived. Spent an hour on the phone with customer service and they were completely useless. Only offered to extend my reservation for a charge. I asked if there was a supervisor available and was told it was a 24-48 hour call back time to speak to a supervisor (I never even got the call back). Had to come back the next morning to return the car. The woman said she closed early because she didn't see anymore reservations in the system that evening. She said she couldn't do anything about the late fee because the reservation wasn't from that location and I'd have to call the original location about the bill. Spent more time on the phone to get the late fee refunded. Very frustrating and inconvenient end to my vacation. I will not rent from Budget/Avis again. read more

If I could go even lower for a score I would. (-10) I went to the Budget at this location.... Let me just say this...Before you rent from them, go to Walmart and get yourself a scooter. You will be better off with that. I picked up the car on a Tuesday for an out of state travel. (this was on the contract so they knew it was not local) We get the car and the outside it FILTHY. We asked, you do not clean the cars anymore? the young man said it was only him. Which means what? As he is walking away we call him back because the TAIL LIGHT is BUSTED. We ask for another car and he states there are no more. Anyone who drives out of Massachusetts knows, that it is a BAD idea to be driving through Connecticut and NY with a busted light, especially at night. You are most definitely going to get pulled over. So, as we pulled off and start driving, we smell this awful smell. Once we pulled over and looked in the back, we see VOMIT all in the back seat on the floor and on the door. (WTH) So, we had no choice but to clean it up, we were already on the road and they had no more cars. I tried calling them many times but I only got the folks from the Philippines who have no clue on what I am talking about. So let's just say BUDGET gave me a FREE car. There is no way I would ever go back to them. Staff said there is no more cars, so when the other folks come in later to get their car, there will not be any. Food for thought... If you know there are no more cars available, why wouldn't you call them and let them know so they won't take that trip to you or better yet, they can call another company to see if they can rent from them. This location openly flouts Budget's terms and conditions. I had a noon pre-paid reservation. The location calls me at 1. He says that he will give away the car and may refuse a refund if I do not pick the car up right away. The Budget terms and conditions indicate that you can pick up the car any time on the day of the reservation before the location closes. This location simply does not care and indicates they will disregard Budget's terms and conditions. Imagine if you had a flight that runs late? Even if you have a pre-paid rental, this location's policy is that if you run late, they can give away your car to another paying customer and refuse a refund, essentially having two separate renters pay for the same car. read more

Agent did not bother to walk the car with me and make sure I know it and all safety features are there. 2. Car was delivered with less than a 1/4 fuel and my record stated full tank. When mentioned the answer I got "it is in the system" 3. Car had a ding. When mentioned "It will be noted in the system" 4. The cherry no registration. When requested from the agent his replies take the car or leave it. Rented from the Budget side. The overall experience was pretty bad. When picking up the car, there were none available for the time reserved so I had to wait until someone returned one and it was cleaned. After returning the car, I was overcharged almost $300. When calling the location they said they couldn't look me up in the system, I was given an incorrect 1800 number to call, and the associate gave me the wrong name. After calling the right 1800 number I was told the associate never put the car back in the system so I was charged until the rental was rented by another person.... Fixable mistake (that can take a week or so to rectify), but definitely inconvenient. read more

He is always professional, knowledgeable and went out of his way to not just get me the car I need, but also to make sure he gets me the best option and rates available. I have noticed his level of patience in dealing with difficult customer and his commitment customer service satisfaction is awesome.
