This is a highly recommended wine bar and was John's top choice for dining. They do have tastins, both food and wine, and their wine list is one of the best in the city. We tried the ceveiche, prawns, bao, and rabbit. I was underwhelmed. The food took a little long and seemed overly ambitious. The Bao were really more like fried sliders than Bao.

Great place to try out Chilean wine if you're short on time and aren't able to visit the vineyards around. I stopped on a Friday afternoon and they were busy but had a few tables available. I got the meat empanadas and classic wine flight. The server was knowledgeable and spoke about the different wine regions in Chile. They also have a great food pairing option.

A terrific wine bar and restaurant in a hip neighborhood in Santiago. The place is always crowded, so make a reservation. The wine flights were good. The service is okay. We had the prawn pasta and conger eel and both were terrific. It's worth a visit.

We came here on a Friday night and waited in line for 30 mins in the cold because it came strongly recommended. We had to wait a bit longer because we wanted to be sat inside but it was worth it. We had a bottle of the Cab Sauv wine, oysters and the beef stew for dinner. Our server was very attentive and while she barely spoke English she did her absolute best to ensure she understood all we were asking. Our food was delicious and the bill was relatively priced. FYI - they do not have wifi!

Nice restaurent, chic and upscale. Service was great, and the food was amazing. The beet salad and the seafood salad were delicious and fresh. The seafood soup were full of large pieces of different shell fish. It was great discovery of Chilean gastronomy.

Bocanáriz is a wine bar that continuously ranks among the best in the city and it unfortunately didn't live up to the hype. I had made a reservation via Google and we arrived late. They managed to seat us anyway, so that was lucky for us. The staff was welcoming, with our waitress even speaking some English. Score for me as I didn't have to translate 24/7. The waitress, too, gave us her personal Wi-Fi network and password as, of course, we had no service and couldn't access the menu. Note, too, that she eventually brought us paper menus as well. The restaurant itself was tastefully decorated. The walls, the tables, you name it and there were wine regions. Very gimmicky, but it worked for them. Ordered a glass of wine and a beer to begin with. They had quite a variety on the menu, so it took us awhile to choose. Supposedly this was an "expensive" restaurant, but I think this is where I see our privilege because I didn't find it expensive at all. I think this is expensive based on Chilean standards, not American ones. We debated between getting individual plates or plates from a fixed menu option they had. Wound up with the individual plates as the fixed menu option seemed massive and it was heavily dependent on seafood. My companion hates seafood and I just wasn't feeling it that night. We began with a charcuterie board. It had a bit of everything. Well, minus bread. We did have to ask for more of it. As for our mains, we ordered them and nearly an hour later, they still weren't around. As it turns out, our waitress forgot to put in our order. Epic fail. By the time she was going to put in the order, I canceled mine as I was more sleepy than hungry. The charcuterie board and the wine were more than enough for me and I was dying to catch some zzzs. My companion meanwhile had a pork dish. He liked his dish well enough, but for a restaurant that was supposed to be our nice night out, this just failed to deliver. It's worth a visit as it's in the foodie part of town, but I'd probably try another place if I were to return to the area. To quote Shania Twain, "that [Bocanáriz] don't impress me much."

While visiting Santiago I didn't have enough time to visit any of the nearby wineries but I did the next best thing and made a reservation at Bocanáriz. This tuned out to be the perfect way to explore Chilean wines as they offer not only a huge selection of bottles but also feature a dozen wine flights and provide service in Spanish, Portuguese, or English.  Upon serving the wines the excellent staff takes time to tell you about each wine, the region it comes from, and other facts about the wine and it's features.  Each wine in the flight is marked with a removable card you can keep.  I chose their Whites of Chile flight and their flight of Classic Reds and was pleased with all of the wines included. I particularly liked the Chardonnay and the Carmenere.   In addition to an extensive selection of wine they also offer a full menu.  I opted for the cheese tray which was huge and included three cheeses a long with a chutney, figs, and a seasoned savory nut mix.  I was also served bread.  The cheese tray afforded me a wide variety of pairings with my wine.   The restaurant itself was lovely. In my experience solo diners are sometimes relegated to the least ideal seat and appreciated that this was not the case with Bocanáriz. I was delighted that both I and another solo diner had been given tables by the window and we're both given as much attention and respect as the larger tables around us.

My brother recommended Bocanariz and the place lived up to his billing. We had oysters, conger eel, a couple of fish dishes and several wine flights. Everything was delicious....and Erica, our server, was terrifically knowledgeable in her recommendations, as well as professionally friendly! Two fellows at our hotel that I told about Bocanariz came the same night...and they loved it, too! They couldn't thank me enough!

Spent my birthday dinner here without reservations. The staff dud the best tgey could to accommodate us. The food was so delicious, wine was good, andservice was friendly. The hotel staff were right to recommend this restaurant. If we're back jn Chile again, I'll eat here again.

Excellent saffron seafood linguine, and each of the wines in the flight were distinctive and paired nicely.

Excellent meal, friendly service, and a wonderful selection of wine flights to quickly try a wide variety of Chilian variatals. Do not miss.

Recommend a reservation, we lucked out getting a table. Good tasting Chilean food. We had the catch of day and pork. Nice chill atmosphere and attentive staff. Prices are moderate.

Lovely vibe, delicious food and friendly staff. My husband and I weren't sure what to choose so we got the wine and food pairing - great deal at only 39000cp per person. The starters came with mushroom ceviche, bruschetta and empanada. Each came with a wine! The main dish was Mahi Mahi grilled fish for me and Malaya pork for my hubs. The pork was amazing. Flavorful and tender. Dessert was white chocolate sphere or chocolate fondant. I preferred the fondant that is just like choc lava cake. The dessert wine that paired with the white choc sphere was better though (late harvest? El amoro). Would be interested to be back again! There was also live music or performers along the outdoor seating. Very nice.

Congrio Confitado. Delicious fish with mushroom risotto. If you love mushrooms, this is a must.

I went to Bocanáriz in 2013. I had the best meal of my life, more so because of the quality for the price.

After a recommendation from Camilo at the Ritz, decided to pay a visit here. The spot is actually owned by one of the former employees from the Ritz and it's been fortunate to meet the owner here. Aside from the wonderful patio with mountain views , what I loved here is the level of knowledge in the staff. Our waiter not only knew the wines, but also had a story for each of the cheeses served. It was such a neat conversation. They do have a selection of wines by glass, so for tasting purposes, this is a good spot to come. I do wish there were more wines by the glass to try, particularly on the higher end of Chilean and Argentinian wines. Bottles are much more plentiful of course. All around, a perfect spot to spend an evening.

Where to even begin with Dix Vins...it is such a gem for so many reasons. Pre-pandemic, every day…read morewas something fun--oysters and bubbly, cheese tastings, live music. Nowadays, we're not so lucky, but the service, wines, and cheese are still amazing (fingers crossed all those regular things return soon!). The great somms here have worked all over the world, from France to Napa Valley. They speak every language and they are actually nice people, not snobby at all. (They might jokingly roll their eyes at you if you go from a big bold cab to a pinot noir, though!) Admittedly, I have only come for cheese, charcuterie plates, or dinner--never lunch, but I've heard good things. The cheese plates are terrific and always different (it's like the TJ Maxx of cheese boards!). The apps are also nice. There's not a huge selection for dinner plates (duck, beef, or chicken are pretty much it), but the chef is consistent. If you've lived in Chile longer than a year and still love Chilean wine but want to mix it up now and then with nice French wines, THIS is the spot for you. After spending a wonderful weekend trip in Medoc running the famed marathon, I'm now a huge fan (who isn't?) and occasionally want to enjoy those European flavors. In addition to the incredible French-wine selection, LDV also carries some of the best Chilean wines, including those from Vik vineyard. But the real reason I keep coming back is that delicious French cheese! Do you know there are cheese smugglers in Canada? Yeah, people risking their lives and freedom to smuggle in every kind of expensive French cheese imaginable. Well, good news cheese lovers of Chile, you need not risk jail time here. Truthfully, there is not a bad cheese behind the counter, and more often than not, they are on sale. What's not to love? You just walk in, straight back to the counter and ask for your favorite cheese in whatever size you like. They'll wrap it carefully and with a smile. Oh, and did I mention they deliver? Same day! Before 2020, the hubs and I came to LDV one afternoon just as the sun was setting in front of our indoor window seat. It was so incredibly hot, it was like a greenhouse. My first thought was, They are cooking all this wine! Well, fast forward to 2021, and there are now wine crates in those windows and only outdoor seating (I can also confirm they are dog friendly!). I still am not brave enough to sample the wines closest to the window, but I'll admit, I've never had a bad wine here. One thing I will note: On more than one occasion, my foreign credit card has not worked immediately (works fine with the online shop). Not sure if it's a wifi or machine issue or what, but I've come to expect hiccups when paying my bill. A minor inconvenience for great service and a happy belly.
