Boca Vet Clinic has taken care of all my pets for several years. Dr. Deleonibus saved my cat "Jelly" after he disappeared for 3 days, and we found him lethargic and anemic. If it weren't for the emergency care he received (on a Sunday), we wouldn't have him here with us today. Dr. Marquis helped us navigate a serious diagnosis with our shepherd. Sadly, we lost "Max" but the compassion that we received and the guidance on making tough decisions is what got us through the dark days. Dr. Moragas and Dr. Rosenthal have taken care of our puppies "Sage" and "Auggie". Luckily, they are in good health, and I know Boca Vet will help me keep them healthy. Goose has bloodwork, urinalysis X-rays and ultrasound performed and I had all the results within 2 hours. My last vet couldn't never have done these test right away. Dr O'Neill was wonderful as usual. I took my very senior cat in for a recheck of her blood pressure. Normally, if there was a question about what I would agree to having done, I would be given an estimate. Today, no estimate, just hit with a $325 bill! This is totally unacceptable just going from previous service. I was told that since this was done last time (bloodwork of an expensive nature) that they "assumed" this is what I wanted done. I've been a customer for many years but maybe it's time to call around. I have 3 animals and 2 of the are seniors so I have to be careful of what I spend. I'm a senior on SS. We have been using this veterinarian for six years and they definitely have very friendly service. This clinic has expanded over the years to include all types of services, such as daycare and grooming. They also sell food and toys. They have partnered with the app PetDesk to schedule appointments and keep track of shot schedule. The service is always great but we always seem to wait a bit long to see the doctor. Time is one thing you don't get back and it's my number one pet peeve. They are located in a strip mall with lots of parking, but the area does get busy in the afternoon so you might have to park farther away but your dog will enjoy the longer stroll. If anything, it might just be worth a visit to see all the really bad pet art on the walls. read more

My cat needed to see an internal medicine specialist, and I found Boca veterinary clinic online when I searched for one. Their website advertises internal medicine specialists. I requested the appointment online, got a confirmation, and emailed them back, asking to verify that she would be meeting with the internal medicine specialist. They said yes. I gave my cat medicine in the morning to sedate her in preparation for the exam, put her in her carrier, went to the clinic, waited 20 minutes in the waiting room, was brought back to the exam room, and asked again to verify, this is with the internal medicine specialist, right? She went back to verify, and came back and said no. Their internal medicine specialist supposedly left and all they have are regular vets. I already have a regular vet who is fantastic so I really just needed the specialist. Very disappointed I wasted my time and medicated my cat for no reason. I wish they would've called before confirming the appointment or Gave me the correct information. Just know that if you're looking for an internal medicine specialist, they don't have one, at least currently. read more

All of my dogs over the past ten years (they were all rescues) have been patients of BVC and everyone in my office takes their pets there. I only recently left the practice as I moved too far away. Dr. Rheum is by far the best vet my dogs and I've ever had. She's kind, compassionate, brilliant and she understood and worked with my budgetary constraints through some very rough patches in my life. She loved my dogs and I trust her implicitly. Others in my office use Dr. Hack and speak highly of her as well. They always seem to have availability to see my dogs which makes it convenient for me. BVC is also a wonderful, active community member, which I really appreciate--if you follow their Facebook page you get to see all the wonderful contributions they make to the neighborhood for both pet owners and non-pet people alike. Only downside is that parking can be a bear, but I've always gotten a spot close up and that is the least of my worries when choosing a vet. read more

The amount of attention my boy gets when he goes there is on a whole other level. He's welcomed with open arms. I have been going to Dr. Leslie Hach's office for 8 years. They have recently in the last few months changed pricing and have been unprofessional and don't even give you the curtesy of informing. They took advantage of COVID-19 and that's disgusting and unprofessional. The lack of going into the facility only work in their advantage. When I questioned them and expressed my concerns they offered to send my pets records to me. I brought my 10-pound dog here in the time of an emergency. she had swallowed a good amount of grapes which are poisonous to dogs and needed to flush the toxins out of her body. they ended up not helping and not giving me an answer as to a plan to help treat her, but the one thing they did do was give her fluids once, which they left bruising all over her neck. My dog is 10 pounds and I am wondering to what they could have possibly done to make her bruise that bad. Worst experience I've had at a vet. First they milked me for $1,100 for my dog's medication & that didn't even help. My dog's parasites never went away & his ear infection was still there. Then i went back there for a check-up to figure out other solutions & they tell me I have an outstanding balance of over $200 because they reused my dog's urine that the lab still had a sample of to run more tests after I already told them I CANNOT afford to do that right now and they still did it WITHOUT my consent, never even told me they did it or notified me when they got the results & then were trying to milk me for even more money. A couple weeks ago, our dog (Bear) got burned and we were looking for a vet to take him on a sunday. They seem to be the only vet that is open on weekends which is great. We live in Boynton but have been driving to Boca once a week for the last couple of weeks to come here. Dr Reum is great- so friendly and educated. She even told us that we could email her photos on the progress of the burn and if we had any questions. Bear's burn is healing nicely thanks to her and her advice. This place is, without a doubt, so far ahead of any other vet that I've ever taken my dog that I'm not even sure how to say it. My dog came in this spring for a torn ligament and Dr. West and Dr. Hack handled it (and handled me) as well as anyone could ask. They talked me through my options, surgical and financial, and helped me make sure that I was making the right decision. I eventually wound up getting her leg operated on, and was confident I was doing the right thing; there was one minor complication with her recovery and Dr. Hack was right there to help her out and help me get my mind at ease. A few weeks ago when my dog got diagnosed with a sarcoma, Dr. West was absolutely amazing. She was extremely understanding and patient as I cried like a baby in the exam room and very thoroughly walked me through all of my options. She pulled some strings and got me an appointment (two days after the diagnosis) with the same oncologist she uses for her dogs, a gesture that is so far above and beyond what anyone could ever expect. She amputated my baby's leg with Dr. Bello this weekend and called me several times throughout the day to keep me updated and took fantastic care of the dog. I'm not sure how the saga with my dog's illness is going to play out, but it gives me a lot of comfort to know that she's going to be in such good hands. As long as I'm living in South Florida, there is no other vet I will ever take an animal to, this place is absolutely the best. read more

On April 13, 2020, I went to Boca Veterinary Clinic for the first time. I must say that I could not have been more displeased and disappointed with my visit. Dr. Stacey Riff (West) was extremely curt, rude, unhelpful and rushed me off the phone. She wanted to redo the same Xrays that I had done for my foster dog at an ER vet a few nights earlier. I declined getting a duplicate set of xrays when she had the xrays from the ER vet that were transferred over. I honestly felt that as soon as she realized that this was a foster dog from a rescue, she was not interested in assisting further when I explained that an ultrasound was also not in the budget for the rescue. I was not done asking her various questions relating to my foster dog's symptoms and what was going on with him, when she abruptly ended our "vet visit" on the phone due to COVID-19. Dr. Stacey Riff (West) was unhelpful and when the staff brought my foster dog out to me, the staff forgot to give me his written prescription, probiotics and prescription dog food. I was so disappointed with this visit, I even sent an email to the owner to explain the situation and I did not even get the courtesy of a response. Very attentive and responsive staff! They were able to see my kitty for an emergency surgery on a Saturday and were incredibly compassionate and informative throughout the whole process. I love that they are open on weekends and past 5 PM on the work week as this is condusive for people who may work a 9-5 job. Please use caution at this vet and please get a second opinion if your gut says so! I found Boca Vet Clinic on Yelp and went due to the good reviews. I took my dog in for skin hot spots. There was one on my lab's cheek that looked very concerning. The Boca Vet Clinic proscribed a powder and stated that the sore could be due to a bad molar causing her to scratch. They suggested that the molar should be extracted. A week and a half later, I returned for a follow up. I thought she was healing. The vet said that she was not and needed to have a biopsy done of her cheek for fear of ringworm or other issues. This would be done while she was awake and require to cut out part of the area and stitch her up. I was shocked but very concerned for my dog. Then the quote came back at about $950. I scheduled if for the next day. Once I got home, I realized this felt wrong as it appeared to be healing to me. So at my friends advise, I canceled the procedure and scheduled an appointment with Calusa. Calusa took one look at my dog and told me her cheek was healing nicely, it's was due to fleas and her being in the pool so much and gave me a treatment plan to get it fixed. My dog healed right up away. No biopsy, no stitches and new recovery and no $950. Oh and by the way the bad tooth...just tarter build up...she's fine. Calusa is now my dog's vet. Please do your homework...I had to make time for a second opinion but it was so worth it. read more

Do not take your pet there! I brought my dog for allergies and discuss possible teeth cleaning. First visit went ok, they did exam and everything, however the estimate for a cleaning was astronomical! I compared to two other places and it was double. But it's not the point of the review. After the visit they said to come back in a week to check if anti allergy injection worked. Brought my dog for a follow up to say that their medication did not work. Met with another doctor who didn't seem to look at the records at all because she asked the same questions as a week ago. Suggested acupuncture. Umm ok....I am here for allergies! Suggested another medication. I agreed. Wait time 45 min. At this point I am running very late for another appointment, and say I will come pick up medication later. The rude stuff says that I need to pay. For the EXAM! I was very confused as it was a follow up on anti allergy medication which didn't work. I didn't need to discuss my dog teeth or knees, I did it a week ago! I told them about that they still insisted that I need to pay. At this point a nurse shows up to.. schedule my dog's teeth cleaning‍ they try to sell you whatever they can with no regard to your time, your animal needs or anything. So I said I will pay for my visit but not be returning. The front staff almost threw at me credit card machine and kept rolling her eyes. The worst, I read on the label- medication they prescribed requires blood work which they didn't tell me about and didn't discuss any possible side effects. All they care is money and upselling you. She examined my dog while he stayed on my lap and sat on the floor to examine my other anxious dog. She was gentle, very informative and took the time to explain things. Would give ZERO stars if an option. Saddest review I've ever written. Was the biggest supporter of owner, Dr. Hack, when she left Calusa and opened her own practice. Spent years making referrals and singing her praises. Unfortunately, what was- is no more. The entire place is a mess- total lack of interest in their 4 legged patients (or their 2 legged owners who are consistently overcharged). The front desk is rude, unprofessional, and blatantly disrespectful- they have absolutely no empathy or interest in anything except chatting about their personal lives. The vets have turned over repeatedly-- and not shocked as the concept of actually caring about a pet is no longer a priority here. The level of arrogance and indifference is disgusting. After 13 years my dog in hospice care/end stage was denied her medications and prescriptions prior to holiday weekend because some staff had "mistakenly " thrown hard copy prescriptions away - and no other vet was willing to re-write essential med refills. The clinicians have no interest and treat the animals as numbers- minimal to no interaction with them. There is not one thing about this vet that I would recommend- except look somewhere else! The front desk blatantly lie to the facility's owner about what they say or do, and rather than attempt to resolve- it is just ignored. Unfortunately no one at Boca Vet Clinic ever learned about the necessity of accepting and acknowledging their role in the problem. I had a scheduled vet appointment for my dog and this rude woman called and said they were over booked and couldn't see my dog. I said please she is sick. The woman said; I don't know what to tell you why don't you take your dog to another vet as she isn't coming here. I couldn't believe my ears. She said other rude things as well.
