The guide, Kyle Hubbs, was a talented driver and extremely knowledgeable about the herd both historically and the whereabouts of the horses in there current locations. And he's a really good photographer himself and had some great prints for sale after. We got to see horses on the shoreline, which I'm told doesn't happen that often. I really enjoyed my time with my wife and got some great photos myself.

Amazing! We probably saw 30+ horses, including many babies (Mid-June in 88° weather). Our driver was Buddy, he was hilarious and informative, plus he took so many good photos of our family with horses in the background. Totally worth the price, it's a 10/10 experience.

Bob's is one of the original horse tours in Corolla. They pickup behind the SuperWings. It's a 2 hour tour and you usually see horses. Our driver Karen was excellent. She made sure everyone was able to see the horses and get all the photos they wanted and stopped when we spotted a horse. It was a great tour. We use Bob's every time we see the horses.

I cannot say enough AMAZING things about our tour with Karen! Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, but we saw nearly 20 horses. She was great at slowing down when needed and providing us with ample time to take photos. We will be back!

Absolutely amazing! Wendy and Lynn were amazing getting us scheduled and checked in and Al was extraordinary as the tour guide! He told of the background of the horses of the OBX and the history of the area. We were able to see dozens of horses and had a blast!! We will definitely go again!!

We love our tour with Bob's Wild Horse! Our tour guide Lori was super knowledgeable, the drive so beautiful along the beach, and the horses were amazing up close. Highly recommend Bob's tours, and Lori!!!

Herb was an awesome tour guide and made sure we got the most out of our two hours! It was tons of fun & laughs but we learned a lot about the horses and their history. We'd definitely do it again and ask for Herb!

    Beautiful horses!

We had an excellent October tour with Bob's Wild Horse Tours. Online sign-up was simple and the staff was welcoming and kind including to my five year old daughter making sure she was comfortable and could see around all of us grown ups. The tour itself was about two hours long and our guide Bill was funny and full of local information. He knew all the crazy spots to look and we probably saw two dozen wild horses along the beach and in the sand dunes and houses. Being a local himself we got a feel for what it's like living in Corolla and how much the locals love the horses - even when they end up on their decks or blocking the road. He gave us plenty of time for pictures and we had a great day as a family and learned so much about this unique part of OBX. I would definitely recommend Bob's Wild Horse Tours to others.

If you're looking for an amazing family experience, Bob's Wild Horse Tour will NOT disappoint!!! From the moment we climbed aboard their jeep, we were in for an adventure! To start, our driver, Al, was not only a gentleman helping us all into our seats and getting little ones car seats buckled in; but he was and INCREDIBLE driver, a wonderful source of information about rhe horses and the island, and an overall ton of fun! Driving on the beach and up and down the sand dune roads was like a roller coaster ride! I don't think there are a lot of people who could navigate this terraine without getting stuck or toppeling over their vehicle. While the horses were beautiful, having the opportunity to see the private homes out there was equally incredible! Everyone on our jeep was really nice and we all had a great time together! Easily one of my favorite excursions (and we've travelled extensively to Hawaii, Europe, and the Caribbean)!!!

I've been vacationing here for years and never took the tour. We decided to do so this time around and we were mesmerized by all the horses we saw (at least 60 or more). They are stunning! This trip was well worth the price of admission. Tip your driver! Carla, our driver was magnificent and shared the history of the horses and the area. Great 2 hour trip! Take water and your cameras. Respect the habitat. Carla and Bob's Tours did. They got us close enough without disturbing these beautiful animals. I can't wait to come back. Simply beautiful! (Take the first tour at 9:30...a little cooler out and less crowded on the beach)

This place is located in the Food Lion plaza between Kitty Hawk and Lucky's Pizza. Down the sidewalk. We had a great time on our tour. We did the sunset tour and we spent the majority of our time in the dunes area looking at horses than driving on the beach. We easily saw more than a couple dozen horses. We learned a lot about the area from our driver (who was recently bit by a snake out there recently so be careful) and we saw so much in such a short amount of time. Other tour companies stop at a certain point while this company goes farther down the beach to see more horses according to our guide. If we hadn't gone further in we wouldn't have seen half the horses we saw. Completely worth it.

Enjoyed our tour. Karen was a wonderful guide. Saw a lot of horses and learned about their history. We even saw some loggerhead turtle nests. The last tour of the day seemed to be chasing sunset and the beach was beautiful.

Reservations are necessary as even in November I could not believe how many people were taking this tour. The tour starts at there office approx. 15 minutes away from where horses roam. The hummer vehicles are operated with diesel engines which are loud making conversation a little trying. The driver uses a mick and two speakers located at front of vehicle. People in back rows had a very difficult time hearing driver. Tour begins with a drive on beach to arrive in dunes where horses are most likely found. This company has many vehicles running at same time and drivers communicate with each other when horses are located. Very interesting to see that these animals live amongst private home properties in the sand dune area. The drive can be a little bumpy at times as paths are all natural, no paved roads. After taking this tour I am so glad we did not attempt this on our own. These horses roam a large area and are hidden by dunes, brush and buildings. Besides the fact you need a vehicle to traverse loose sand. If your interested seeing wild horses in a natural environment this tour is worth your time and money. I do say that a better sound system in vehicles would enhance experience.

Our tour guide, Horace was amazing. We saw all kinds of horses and birds and Houses. The dunes were fun. Our driver was in and out of the dunes and the trucks. It was like a race, but fun and relaxing. There's a halfway point where he stops to let the ladies use the restroom which was very accommodating. We really enjoyed this trip. It's a must for everyone to do this. It was on my bucket list. I am a happy camper.

We laughed so much, saw the most beautiful horses, learned about the horses and Corolla in general, and even saw some bald eagles!! If you're looking for a fun way to tour the beach, definitely book a tour! Plus, this group is actually working on protecting the horses!!! Some of the money from these tours go towards preserving land and caring for the horses (but only if absolutely needed, as we learned! For the most part, the horses are left completely alone unless it's life or death). A couple things for parents with young kids: The car seats fit perfectly, no issues at all. And they are able to see everything from their car seat!

Never did I imagine that I'd get to see the horses living/roaming amongst the houses of Corolla Beach. I had no clue a community could exist like this and without going on the tour I never would have believed it. Geoff, our guide, was great and informative. He took us all around to make sure we could see horses. He told us all about how they're cared for and tracked (but not really tracked). It's amazing that there's so much involved to make sure the wild horses are treated well. There's a mutual respect between the horses and people. I fell in love with the community on Corolla beach and will be back to stay and watch the horses roam free. Definitely take a tour- it's so well worth it!

There are 75-100 wild horses on the sand dunes. The open air truck carries about twelve people. We wore seat belts because the trucks rolling in the sand gets very bumpy. We hopped in the modified Ford F-250 with outdoor seating and drive to the beach. Immediately we passed two wild Spanish Mustangs taking a stroll down the beach. Many of the horses were in the yards of the beach houses. The guests and residents here know the horses are the true land owners and the people are the ones permitted to be there :). FYI - it is a two hour tour. Half way through they stop at a park for a bathroom break and a leg stretch. We also brought a cooler with food and drinks.
