Power Hz is a generator and small engine repair specialist. They repair all sorts of generators…read more(freestanding, built into RV, towable, etc.) as well as lawnmower (including riding mower) engines, etc. I contacted Power Hz because I was having problems with the generator in my motorhome, which seemed to be possibly altitude sensitive and probably temperature sensitive. I was referred to Ron (owner of Power Hz) by another local RV repair service that doesn't work on generators and stopped in El Paso specifically to have him take a look. Ron is very thorough and methodical. As an OK shade tree mechanic with a few former and current professional mechanics in the family, I recognize a good mechanic when I see one. Ron is a very good mechanic. He went through everything on the generator that could be tested without removing it from the vehicle, eliminating every possible cause of its stalling. Then, it finally had to come out for bench testing and when I left for the campground about 9:00 PM, he was still in his shop working on it (Ron is also a really hard worker). Bench testing revealed that it was the generator control board, and after swapping it with a used one he had on hand, it ran for over 2 hours under a ~5 KW load, so I greenlighted getting a new board from Cummins while we went up to White Sands the next day. In the late afternoon, he called to say the generator would be ready on schedule and to bring the motorhome by about 5:00 PM to reinstall the generator. We went to the campground and traded minivan for motorhome and set out over Tran-Mountain for the shop. A few hours later, the generator was back in and I had tested it with loads greater than I ever throw at it in real life (both roof air conditioners, water heater, microwave, etc.), pushing it to peak loads of 43 amps and sustained loads greater than 30. It never stalled or even stumbled. The next day, we resumed our journey back to California and the generator performed flawlessly across two days of desert driving, running both roof air conditioners. Ron was a real trip saver, and he did it at a very fair price, too. Two thumbs up for Power Hz! Besides being a great generator mechanic, Ron and his wife are a good-hearted couple who generously care for a deaf feral cat with almost no teeth who hangs around their shop. The cat is too wild to be approached by anyone but them, but she comes inside to eat her food and they know she is deaf because she doesn't even twitch when a generator is started up, not even a large one. There's no good place to have a generator breakdown on your RV, but if you're going to have one, choose El Paso and Ron will fix you up :-)

They then pocket the money and never show up for the job. They seem very nice and sincere when you call or visit them but the job never gets scheduled. And forget about getting your deposit back. There is always a reason why they don't have the cash. These guys are fraudsters and you will lose your deposit money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I lost my deposit but it wasn't a great deal of money. My goal here is to post valid but terrible reviews about Boba's wherever I can so that they end up losing thousands of dollars of lost business and save the good people of El Paso the pain of dealing with such unprofessional con men.

I would like to start by saying there is no option for zero stars. Had I read another users review…read moreprior then I would have stayed clear of this welding business. I had a custom rack made for .my truck and tool box that Michael Bobadilla was more than happy to take. We came up with a design agreed on a price. He asked me for a deposit, I'm assuming for the materials, in which I paid in full. I'm not sure if that's where I went wrong but it took them 3 weeks to finish a job that should have taken 3 days. He stated that there were other jobs ahead of me and I acknowledged this. However I feel as if I was put on the back burner because they were already paid and I said I had another vehicle. Communication was very poor and I was told for over a week and a half that it would be ready the next day and it kept dragging on and turning into the next day. I went as far as to bring a case a beer by to try to help the job along. Here is the issue, I went by once and found the doors unlocked and keys in the ignition, no harm I removed keys and told Michael. It was after I picked up my truck that I noticed gouges in the paint on top of the roof and around the bed. And a large amount of slag ( molten steel from the welding process) all over the roof, quarter panel windows and rear window. I told Michael the same day I picked it up, and he said he would resolve it. When I brought the truck to him he tried claiming the paint damage on the bed was either prior damage or vandalism, "he couldn't confirm that it was his employees" the window and roof is undeniable and he admitted that it was his fault. He said he would get back to me in a few days with solutions but I have since stopped recieving responses from him. Damages are in excess of $2700, back window alone was $500. I do not expect to hear back from him. I have never experienced such worthless customer service. IF YOU ARE READING THIS REVIEW I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING ANOTHER SERVICE AROUND EL PASO AS YOU WILL BE EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED WITH THE RESULTS AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Some of the welds look like they were done by high school students attempting it for the first time in shop class. IN FACT, SAVE YOUR MONEY, BUY A WELDER AND DO IT YOURSELF. You'll have less heart ache than dealing with Bobas welding. I pride myself on being a stand up citizen and all around decent person. I flew in from Phoenix to El Paso since renting the truck over here would have cost me about $1,800+ than in El Paso. It was well worth it for me to spend $142 for a flight, and 5-1/2 hours drive time back to Phoenix to save $1,800. Their office reached out to me to confirm everything about 1-1/2 weeks out from my pickup date. I uber from the airport to their location which is extremely close. It cost $8.59 for the ride. When I arrived they immediately started to help me with my Penske pickup. We went over all the options which I declined since I am covered under my auto policy. The gentleman which helped me was extremely thorough. I used to work in self storage and we rented Penske trucks. He pointed out multiple dings and things I missed, as well as very great info on the DEF fluid refill options they now have on the diesel models. He also said that if I had any questions please feel free to call them directly instead of Penske call center so they could help me faster during business hours if I had any general questions. The truck and carrier were ready to go. The truck fired right up, and I let it warm up for about 4 minutes. It was parked in a location which allowed for me to easily exit the property. I highly recommend the 9400 Montana Ave location for picking up a Penske truck rental. Hopefully you will have just as a great experience as I did.
