I flew in from Phoenix to El Paso since renting the truck over here would have cost me about $1,800+ than in El Paso. It was well worth it for me to spend $142 for a flight, and 5-1/2 hours drive time back to Phoenix to save $1,800. Their office reached out to me to confirm everything about 1-1/2 weeks out from my pickup date. I uber from the airport to their location which is extremely close. It cost $8.59 for the ride. When I arrived they immediately started to help me with my Penske pickup. We went over all the options which I declined since I am covered under my auto policy. The gentleman which helped me was extremely thorough. I used to work in self storage and we rented Penske trucks. He pointed out multiple dings and things I missed, as well as very great info on the DEF fluid refill options they now have on the diesel models. He also said that if I had any questions please feel free to call them directly instead of Penske call center so they could help me faster during business hours if I had any general questions. The truck and carrier were ready to go. The truck fired right up, and I let it warm up for about 4 minutes. It was parked in a location which allowed for me to easily exit the property. I highly recommend the 9400 Montana Ave location for picking up a Penske truck rental. Hopefully you will have just as a great experience as I did.

Didn't come here to rent a truck (although they have many available for very decent prices)…read more Instead I just simply needed some boxes. Seems simple enough, right? Well, little did I know, boxes come in every shape and size imaginable. I was kinda overwhelmed lol. Located off Montana near Hyundai of El Paso, this little gem not only has every size U-Haul truck you can want/need, but also has a storage lot (storage units) on site for you to store your belongings. And when it comes to packing, they literally have everything you can imagine from wardrobe boxes to tape to scissors and markers and everything. The boxes are reasonably priced (considering), but they are cheaper if you buy it in bundles. The bundles are clearly marked and you can get sets of 10-20 of whatever sizes you need. I wasn't sure what sizes I'd need. The extra large was too big. The Small was too small. The fancy boxes with clothes racks or dishes sections etc were just too fancy. So I was stuck between medium and large. Now the bundles are all one size, no mix and match. So what would I get? Well the super friendly staff was right there to assist me and we decided on large boxes. Bought a set of 15. Now then it worked out, but had it not, there's an awesome "catch". Let's say you needed a different size. Or, you didn't need all 15 in your bundle. NO PROBLEM!!!! As long as the box hasn't been used, no tape no nothing, just folded up flat in its original condition, THEY WILL BUY IT BACK FROM YOU FULL PRICE!!! Yup. Just take the unused boxes back and you're good to go. And dude even loaded the 15 pack bundle into my car for me. Such a gentlemen. (I have a bad back and 15 folded flat boxes are cumbersome and heavy lol. Don't judge me). I don't know much about U-Haul stores, but this one on Montana is the bees knees, Mayne!

The problem is that they refuse to regularly empty the open septic field behind the Buckhorn restaurant resulting in a public health threat to our community. Behind a restaurant. I spoke to the owner's son-in-law this morning and he more or less threatened to raise our propane bill because of our pressure on Griffin's to see to their basic responsibilities. Shameful. At the front desk, an employee--whose name I could not get--told me verbatim, "I don't see any payment due right now." When I clarified that my payment was due December 4, 2025, and that I wanted to pay today since I had just received my paycheck, the employee added, "Actually, I don't see any payment due for December. I only see one for January 2026." I want to be clear: I had a witness present who heard the exact same statements, so this was not a misunderstanding. This misinformation is completely unacceptable and demonstrates clear ineptitude. I was wearing bright royal blue scrubs with very short, blue-tinted hair, in case footage helps identify the employee. Adding to the frustration, I received a payment notice at 12:50AM, which is unprofessional and adds unnecessary stress. Between inaccurate staff guidance and poorly timed communications, this location makes what should be a simple process confusing and difficult. There are also deeper issues with training and communication. For example, I was previously unaware that a purchased lock needed to be placed the same day to secure my unit properly. Despite having paid for it, I was not informed of this requirement. This reflects systemic failures in staff training and management oversight, not just a single employee mistake. Paying customers should receive accurate information, professional guidance, and clear communication, yet this location consistently fails in these areas. This is unacceptable for any business that relies on its customers to operate. Until staff are properly trained, management enforces standards, and communication improves, I cannot recommend this U-Haul location. This is not simply about a payment--it reflects a wider problem with how the facility operates. U-Haul needs to act immediately to improve staff competency, communication, and overall customer experience. I encourage every customer to share this experience more broadly to warn other customers.
