I had to go to Bob's to get into a file folder that had a defective combination lock. I initially went to the old Fishers location, which doesn't exist anymore. The address is south Indy now. By the time I arrived, I had been driving for an hour. The guys were so friendly and welcoming. Got into my lock in about 10 minutes and didn't charge me because I had so much trouble finding them, having gone to the old location fist. That is great customer service! I would gladly make that drive again if I needed to. read more

Bob's saved the day!!! Actually it was Bob's son Tim. After I lost the only remaining key to my 2007 Chevy van and was stranded at home - did I mention I have 6 kids?! Tim immediately made me a Chevy key at his shop, drove it to my house in Fishers and spent over an hour programming the new ignition key and making sure I understood all the instructions before he left. He even provided me an extra door key in case I have any emergencies in the future. He was polite, respectful, and knowledgeable and even provided me an itemized receipt. To top it all off her apologized for my wait even though I spent the entire time in the house doing dishes and laundry. I called to have a vat key cut and the guy who answered gave me this big spew about he couldn't cut the key i had bought on line because it would mess up his cut machine. I called a different locksmith and they charged me a dollar to cut the key. Plus i bought some keys before from bobs and they were expensive. Save your money and go somewhere else!!!!! P. I bought a FIAT that came with one key/fob. That's no way to live, so I called Bob's for a spare. He checked out my car to determine if he could reprogram the computer and ordered me a new key fob. The fob came in next day and I was in and out in just a few minutes. Best part is that it cost less than half of what the FIAT car stealership charges. I contacted Bob's for a non emergency quote on Monday morning for a push to start key fob. Later that day Tim, the owner, contacted me and said he could be at my house on Wednesday. He also worked around my teaching / and coaching schedule to show up when I would be available without any problem.I was able to be home in my living room while attending an online training while Tim completed his work, which cost me less than the dealership or other local locksmiths/hardware stores. What a great staff! I sat waiting my turn (not long) and heard the gentleman answer a call and tell the person to bring their FOB to the shop and they will be happy to put a new battery in it AT NO CHARGE! That NEVER happens. Then, the woman at the counter in front of me picked up 6 keys she had ordered and she noticed that they didn't look like the key she knew she needed duplicated. She admitted that she had brought in the wrong key to be copied .... he insisted (his words!) that she not pay anything since they will not work. She was so thrilled and said she would come back with the correct key. I needed a key made (and the lock picked) for my bike rack that had been on my car since summer and we had lost the key. He came out and spent a good 10 minutes trying to pick the lock and then opted, with my permission, to drill the keyhole out. He did that and recommended that I run across the street to Pep Boys and buy a new pin and lock to protect the bike rack (and bikes we haul on it). They sold me the wrong one ... the guys at Bob's helped me load the bike rack into my car since it now had no way to be pinned onto the hitch and told me different options to get a new pin and lock - even looked it up online and printed it for me to take with me. I got out my debit card out to pay the $15 for drilling the lock out and he told me "Put your card away. You've been through enough trying to get this fixed. No charge." Again ... THAT NEVER HAPPENS. I got stuck with the chore of cleaning out a storage unit my work had rented and of course no one had a key. Even they storage rental place didn't have a master. So I called Bob's and they were able to be there in less than an hour to get it open for me! It was the weekend too! The cost was reasonable and the service was phenomenal! Horrible mistake of locking my van doors with key inside. Looked down the street and seen the van in the parking lot. Walked down there asked Tim to help me he locked up shop came down took a look then helped me out. I felt like he definitely went out of his way to help me. Bobs lock is a service-oriented company. They saved me a lot of money by cutting a 2nd key for my car that I provided. It was a fraction of the cost quoted elsewhere. They didn't make much money off me, but made sure my key worked in ignition plus all locks. read more
