I hired Herb's Door Service to install a 2 bay garage door I purchased from Menards with Herb's…read moreDoor Service doing the installation. Via emails I was told by Karen the price would be "$475-$525". However, after the owner arrived the price was changed to $600.00 making the actual price $75-125 higher. That was disappointing because it turned out to be a "bait and switch". When he completed the work I wanted to see the door functioning and it did, and so I paid him accordingly. But within one (1) day I realized the unit squeaked like hell. So I used some lubricant everywhere I could find a joint and that helped. But it still squeaks. Is that on the Menards door OR the installation? I had to conclude Herb's Door Service should have lubricated the door as part of the installation. Lets face it we home owners/consumers cannot think of everything and that's a reason to hire professionals, so they take care of the details. With a little help from someone I could have installed the door myself as there are surprisingly good videos on YouTube showing step by step instructions. If I had it to do over I would have hired someone else. Herb's Door Service came in with the lowest price, but upon arrival it became a "bait and switch" AND he should have lubricated the joints. I cannot recommend them.

However, I…read morewould like to update my review to specify the following: 1) The installation of my new door by the technician Victor was excellent. He worked long and hard and did a professional job. It was a heavy wooden 2-car garage door that was replaced with an insulated aluminum door. 2) The door is top quality. 3) The price was the lowest of any other bids. 4) The 3 year warranty on parts and labor was the longest offered. The following factors prevented me from giving a 5- Star review : 1) Apparently, the accounting software caused the errors and delay in providing me with the corrected final invoice. 2) The lack of response in a timely matter.
