Nathan showed up in perfect timing. Diagnosed the situation and had all the parts on the truck. This was not just a spring issue too. The main rod sheered right off at the bearing! Jacob Booth was great!! He helped me order the door and then was right there to install it when it was ready. He started later in the day, and ran into a couple of issues (not his fault, it was the construction of my garage) - rather than just quit for the night, he worked until past midnight getting my door installed correctly. He really went above and beyond, even coming back a couple of days later to make a minor adjustment (on a Sunday!). He was able to diagnose the issues that needed fixing (this wasn't a simple install after all), and everything works perfectly. He cleaned up after the install and my garage was spotless. OVERHEAD GARAGE DOOR, INC was sent to my house by American Home Shield in December 2017. The installer was argumentative and replaced my opener. Then he tried to rationalize the why the opener remote was not working from more than 20 feet away. And today, the opener has died - just after the 60 day labor warranty expired. The only reason I did not give them a 1 star review is because they did a good job in ordering and installing a new door when it was damaged. But for sure, I am not interested in such shoddy efforts. read more

Overhead Door came out to look at the door and they agreed that my garage door needs to be replaced. Quoted me a price, much higher than other garage door businesses. I asked if they have Black Friday deals and the tech that came out named Josh told me he would call his office to check. He came back several minutes later and quoted me a price I felt reasonable so he setup a date to return. He called me the day before and told me the time and day and who is coming over to replace the door. Sale person from his office called me also and confirmed the date and time. Josh/James/Larry were the techs that came out and replaced my garage door. They were very professional, quick and know exactly what they were doing. I actually was given a deal on a upgrade door for a deal including all new hardware, labor and removal of old garage door. Other companies will nickel and dime you for everything. Called 7:01 am this morning with a garage door that would not open and we needed immediate help. Phone was quickly answered by a real person and we were given a service time of between 2:00 - 5:00 pm and were advised that we would receive a text when tech was on the way. Text came at 2:59 pm advising he was on the way. They even sent a picture of the individual. Austin immediately identified the problem as 2 broken springs and offered a choice of the type and price of the available springs. Choice made and he immediately and quickly went to work and finished in no time. We were referred by Home Depot. They have come out twice now to fix our old garage door. The first fix was for broken cables, bad rollers and a new bottom bracket. Their service is great and they show up in a timely manner. I would give them 5 stars but we were slightly shocked with the service call fee that was not discussed in detail over the phone. It wasn't that big of a deal but shocking enough. After a little thinking, we realized it's a pretty typical fee. We just had them fix our door again today. This time the spring was broken and we had very clear information on pricing before they showed up. They let us use a "$20 off coupon" on the spring replacement- that made me happy. I would give them 4.5 stars, but I cant figure out how to do that. These guys are great and we will probably call them again when our other old spring breaks or need other items replaced. read more

As a rule, this is a service you only need when you've got a problem. So you're already aggravated and just want someone to solve the pain quickly and hopefully cheaply. Pleased to report these guys arrive quickly when called, have the repair parts needed on the truck and charge reasonably for the service. Over the last - maybe - 10 years we've had a couple springs replaced by this firm. Last time when they replaced the springs they also recommended rollers that would make the door open/close quieter. It made a major improvement. Most recently we backed into the door, damaging it and throwing it off its tracks. Again they showed up quickly and put it on its tracks suggesting the door would ultimately delaminate and fall apart but there was no urgency to replace it right then. Only two weeks later another spring failed and, again, they were out in a matter of hours. Rather than replace the spring (for a failing door), we opted for the new door. They "clamped" the spring to make it work in the interim because the new door came with new springs. In spite of all of this being both an aggravation and an expense, I felt the company was responsive and provided the best information and recommendations in our interest and never a suggestion of aggressive and unnecessary selling. Additional note (following initial post): These guys returned to install the door 2 days ahead of schedule, installed the new door and everything works great. It was a hot day but the carpenter worked non-stop. In spite of open offer to come inside and cool down, he just asked for a cup of ice to cool his water when he was done. I would not recommend this company. We had a terrible experience and the customer service at this business is not professional. The customer is not their priority. Their priority is to make money and overcharge customers. It's about quantity and not quality. We felt like we got scammed. The customer service manager was unreasonable, was condescending, and rude. I explained that we had replaced our overhead garage door less than 30 days ago. The safety sensors were not installed correctly upon installation. The same technician who came out for the second time admitted they were lose. The original installation wasn't completed correctly and I made they clear to the customer service manager. Before they dispatched the technician they didn't inform us we would be charge additional for this. I was under the impression that they would honor this service. As most businesses would when the equipment is less than 30 days old. The customer service manager kept blaming us for hitting the sensors and insisted that we didn't understand our warranty. They insisted they were working with us by only charging us half for the service charge when literally the sensor just needed to be tighten up and wasn't originally installed properly. I'm in the customer service industry and would never treat someone this way, especially a referred new customer. I will never use this company for garage door work again and caution future homeowners to beware. read more

Terrible. My parents recommended them when we busted a spring on our garage door and I was shocked with my experience. The driver showed up at 7:45am for a 8-10am call. He wrote an estimate for a brand new garage door ($1305) that was WAY above other quotes I have already gotten ($800-950) and left because *SURPRISE* I wasn't awake yet (for our 8am call). He was gone by 8am. When I called the tech, he told me that my door is warped and is unsafe, and that he doesn't feel comfortable replacing the spring. Besides, he said, if you buy a new door, the springs are free. Of course, replacing the springs costs about $130 (including labor). A new door with the "free" springs cost $1305. The estimate was written at 7:55 am. I asked him how he could even pretend to know what condition the door was in without, you know, looking at the door, talking to the client, GOING INSIDE THE GARAGE. Scam and a half, friends. You can't diagnose the condition of a garage door without looking at the inside as well as the outside of the door. I called another company who was far friendlier and now have a functional spring and the door goes up and down. And it didn't cost me $1300 for a new door, it cost me $130 for a new spring, installed by a competent, non-scam artist. See, my door has a little rot on the surface. When the spring broke, it dropped MAYBE 6 inches. It is no more damaged (save for a broken spring) than it was before the spring broke. This is what you get when lazy people don't care about their job. This tech didn't want to do the work, he wanted to sell me a new door for 30-40% more money than everyone else does. I couldn't be happier. Well... then again, I guess if I spent that money going out to dinner I could be happier, however when it comes to garage door stuff, I call these guys for everything. This past spring, against my better judgement, we left the kids with my sister and went on my husbands incentive work trip. All was great until, murphys law kicked in and day one taking them to school, one of the openers fried. I called a number of people my neighbors gave me and it seemed those companies couldn't be bothered at the pace I needed it done. I then googled the repair, (all the way from from NEVIS!!) and found these guys. When they said they had repair crews all over I though it a coincidence and didn't want to second guess the convenience of it all especially when they said they could be there in under 45 minutes. They came, replaced the motor, and were out before 11.am. The bill was reasonable but the fact I didn't have to hear it from my sister was priceless. Why did I wait so long to review? I thought it too good to be true and the stars just aligned for me or something.... until I the opener on the other side failed this morning. with out even searching out the number I called them off the sticker they left in the garage and they said they had people in the area all day. I gave them a 90 minute window, they came fixed the door and left all between 10:!5 and 11:45!! On top of it all the installer called his boss and got a little discount approved because of the two replaced in under a year. It's nice to feel like a company and it's people are looking out for me. I want to update my review and point out a few things. Number one I'm not upset my repair wasn't covered by the warranty company. I'm upset because Overhead Garage Door took the money for the call from the warranty company and on top of that charged me $300 for the repair. So for a repair that would have cost me $300 without the warranty I got charged $400 and Overhead Garage Door made $375 for the same call. That is a scam. Second about the racist comments your installer did say them and not only once either. You should have a talk with Glenn and let him know this isn't professional. I personally am not Indian or Pakistani but found the comments unprofessional. It wasn't just a single comment either. Many times he referred to them as cheap and told me how your company got burned many times because they thought work was covered by the warranty and it wasn't so they didn't want to pay. You calling me a lier tells me just how much I don't ever want to do business with this shady company again. Anyone having work done by these guys watch out. read more

They obviously must have called the wrong number as my incoming call log shows no incoming calls that afternoon and evening, I am a man (not a woman), and was at home all afternoon and evening waiting (and not 'downtown'). I also find it amazing that they do not confirm the person's name and address they are speaking to when they call to confirm an appointment as mistakes do happen (dialing the wrong number for example). Their sticker was on the wall next to my garage door opener, as they'd likely been here with the old owners of the house. Checked against Better Business Bureau to ensure they were legit, then went ahead and called. These guys were out to my house immediately. Called at 7 am, service tech arrived at 8:20 am. Garage door fixed by 8:50 am. Broken spring - they replaced both for $350. A little steep, but with my car being stuck in the garage, I didn't have time to research/YouTube and attempt to fix myself. Just been taken by one of their repairmen who was only interested​ in taking my money for a repair that consisted of moving a sensor box a half an inch to realign with the other sensor box. He was even trying to break the sensor right in front of me to prove it was weak and untrustworthy, he was clearly fishing for a reason to sell parts. It's the holiday season and I feel like I was scammed and insulted. He said I was foolish for not accepting additional repairs. I would never take money for doing a repair that required moving a sensor box a half an inch. AVOID! read more

On their ad it shows they install Wayne Dalton doors and if I may say the tech was inexperienced with this type of door. Second it took him forever, and I wanted a Genie door opener put in also which he did not have time. So I tried calling the service and they assured me someone would be out. Needless to say they never called or showed up and I am very disgusted with this place. Call center does not care. If you want a good door installed take your money and go elsewhere. They were excellent about coming out! I just didn't feel respected by the service guy. I was told to get an estimate only of what was wrong with the door, and someone else would pay for the repairs... The Overheard Garage service Man would not talk to me while he checked the door, even if I kept asking what was wrong with the door. He fixed the door and said he was going to write up the bill. i asked again what was wrong, and explained I needed to let someone else know what's wrong, he still never answered. So I said. you don't talk much? He still didn't answer. I finally said since you've fixed the door already, can you replace the bottom of the door. The service man did a great job on the door, but he still would not tell me what was wrong with the door. He finally told me the cost, but would not let me know what he did until I wrote the check. When I handed the check over, he finally told me it was the cord that needed to be put back in place....
