I had a horrible experience with Bob's appliances in rocky mount, NC Our fridge has been broken for the last two weeks and we finally got an appointment scheduled for 09/18/24 They called the landlord and the landlord never answered because he was super busy, they called me and I had my phone on do not disturb and I called them back 5 minutes later, the manager said they aren't sending anyone out there because they have a 10-15 minute hold for the technician I told them they called the landlord first and not me, I have a newborn and toddler in this house and I need someone to come out here! The manager said no, they can't. I told her I need someone out here, she said let me find out where the technician is, I was fuming because as I was explaining this to my husband who I added to the call, the manager started chuckling and being completely unprofessional. I started getting frustrated because she started saying all of the possibilities that could be wrong with the fridge and I kept telling her, well we wont know unless a technician comes out here. She AGAIN started chuckling and She placed me on hold AGAIN and I was talking to my husband about how this b*tch keeps saying the same thing over and over again and keeps laughing like this a joke. manager said what did you call me?! I said a dumb b*tch because you keep chuckling and she said I WAS going to send someone out there but now I'm not. i Definitely shouldn't have called her a bitch but stop laughing and chuckling and being unprofessional when I am letting you know we don't know nothing about this Fridge and wasting my time more and more. read more

$438 (two service visits at $140 each and the hose part) and dishwasher still not working. after fixing hose, they found another leak. They called Frigidaire who told them it was likely the water tank. There would be another charge to fix that. Maybe on the first visit it would have been impossible to diagnose both issues but in my mind, leaks from multiple places should have been discerned on the first diagnostic visit. Was there a hose leak or was it the water tank all along? I don't know. This service is under new ownership. will be rebranded Elite Appliances. Unfortunately, with the cost of repair, you're often better off to buy a new appliance and get a warranty. In my case I'm out the repair cost AND the cost of a new dishwasher. Over the past few years I have purchased refrigerators from Bob's Appliance Store for my home and business, and I must say the experience was very good. I have also had them come out to service my current refrigerator two times in the past two years with outstanding work by their previous repairman. Two weeks ago Bob's sent a tech out to service our refrigerator, I must say this guy did not look as professional nor was he on point as the other high speed tech that they use to have. Unfortunately they obviously do not have him working there anymore. The service Tech they did send he finally got the water working but then the ice maker wouldn't work, he said don't worry it usually takes about 24 hours for it to start making ice again. 72 hrs later it still didn't make ice. We call Bob's and they made an appointment for us three weeks later, the same guy came back out and appeared as if he was lost, he pulls out a manual and then say's he's going to run and get a part, then he'll be right back. Two hrs later my wife calls the shop and they told her that their Tech would never say that, then they told her that he will have to order the part and reschedule another day for the service to be completed. I finally decided to call Bob's Appliance and ask to speak with the Manager Michael, I proceeded to inform him that I felt the way the Tech gave misleading information to my wife was very unprofessional and that I would much rather have the gentleman that service our refrigerator in the past come back out the next time to do the repair. At that point Michael started screaming using profanity over the phone which really took me by surprise, you almost had to laugh because I have never heard anyone come unglued like that in my life, This guy Michael is not the guy they should have taking phone calls by no means. Bob's has definitely gone down hill and needs to clean up their act, if these are the only employees that Bob's can find to run the daily operations of their business then they should close their doors and stop embarrassing themselves. I definitely would never recommend Bob's Appliance Store to anyone, simply for the fact that they are a very low class operation. read more

If Bob's Appliance had of been honest about the 2 service calls, I would have gone to Bass's Appliance in Wilson and bought a new one. First, they came here charged 150 I believe to check out the appliance. The guy stayed on the phone with the office most of the time which was about 20 minutes. When to a truck that was too little to start with to look for a part that was not there. Then they order a part, which took about 2 weeks or less to get, then they wanted another charge to put it on. By the time I got through, I had close to half of what I paid for the thing to start with. Lowe's sent me an email asking how I liked Bob's, I pretty much said, if I have to use them for service, I will not buy from you. I wish them well, but I hope they enjoy the money they got this time, because there will be NO MORE. read more

If I could give Zero stars I would. I had an appointment with this company made by Whirlpool. The appointment was scheduled from an 8-12 am appointment. When twelve o'clock came around and I still had not seen their technician I gave them a call. I had to leave a voicemail because no one would answer(imagine that). An hour later I noticed they had a Facebook account, so I messaged them about the appointment. Well long story short the day concluded and I never received a phone call to let me know that they were not going to show. Unfortunately, I had to take the day off from work for this appointment. Very poor customer service, I strongly urge anyone reading this to be prepared for a no show. read more

I called them on 10/10/20 because my fridge had stopped working. The guy I spoke to set up an appointment for me on 10/12/20 in the afternoon. The guy showed up on time. He said that he was the owners brother and he was helping him out. He had to call someone to help him diagnose the problem. He said that it was the defrost timer and he was going to go back to the shop to see about ordering the part......They called me on 10/13/20 and said that the part would be $116 installed. That is on top of the $100 I paid for the service call. I said ok and they indicated that they would call me when the part comes in......On about 10/15 they called and said that someone would be out on 10/20 to install it.....The guy came on 10/20 and they installed the part. The fridge stopped working that night. I called the next morning and they sent someone out. The guy came out that evening and looked at the fridge. He said that it was not the defrost timer but something else that was next to the timer. It was not the part that I paid them $116 to install. He said that he was not sure about getting that part because of the age of my fridge. He wanted me to call him the next day. After I paid them $216 he wanted me to call him. I knew what that meant......I called on 10/22 and the Warranty Manager said that she would have the owner, Mr Bob, call me because the Service Manager was too busy to speak to me and she would not take a message. It is now 2:45 pm on 10/22 and I still have not received a call.....They probably think that I am going to go away quietly. This is an update to my review: I went to Facebook and wrote some unflattering things about the way that Bob's had treated me. Well, Bob himself called. This man talked to me like I was his slave and I had gotten out of line. He could care less about me as a customer. You see, I live in Rocky Mount NC and this is one racist place. But, I like it here. Crazy huh? Bob talked to me like I owed him something. It was like he was saying "Darkie you have gotten out of your place". What kind of business man gets the customers money and then gets mad at the customer because he complains about the service? I hung up on him. He then calls me back about 30 seconds later. I don't answer the phone and he leaves me a message that he has "good news". I call him back and he starts yelling at me again because of the FB post and tells me that "he does not want to do business with anyone who considers him a racist and says that he is going to refund my money". Kool If you look up Bob's Appliance on FB you will not see my posts. He removed them. You will only see "glowing" things people said about him. So you see that there are businesses that you can not gauge by FB because they remove negative posts. read more

Horrible and awful service. These people lie and tell you they will call you, they won't. God forbid that your part is on back order because that will take MONTHS for your appliance to be repaired. Had a new appliance under warranty and GE sent Bob's Appliance to our home. Worst Service Ever! I fact, service is a stretch of the meaning of the word. This over priced 2 bit business is unprofessional and stuck in the 1990's. They don't utilize technology to find parts(like normal people) instead, they call 1800 #'s and spend hours on hold to find parts- Update. Now ....after calling them to get an update (they keep saying they will call us and NEVER do, we have a 7-14 day wait until the part is sent from GE to BOBs isn't a 4-6 turn around time to us....now it is a 7-14 day turn around time. Perhaps they are butthurt because of the honest review of their service on YELP. Either way we have contacted GE and the retailer associated w the sale of the dishwasher in question(which is 10 months old) to alert them to the actions and lack of actions of this service company. It will be 4 weeks without a dishwasher yesterday and according to Bobs - it may be 21 days before we see a repair man at our home. Heaven help us because it may not even be the right partwith the history we have witnessed with this company...it just may prove true. read more

Terrible service. First call technician came to fix my dryer. Said he had taken care of the problem. Fixed the stove, said he had fixed the problem. Charged a service cll which I expected and paid. Told me the work was guaranteed. Dryer stopped working the next time it was used. Stove also didn't work. Unfortunately discovered it wasn't working on Christmas Day so was unable to cook and they weren't opened for another five days so had to throw away over $100.00 worth of food. Came a second time to repair both the stove and dryer again. Stove is working but the dryer stopped again after one use. Third call, hopefully this time it is actually fixed. The worst part is that despite what they say, their work is not guard entered, and they charge separate service calls each time. When I asked the owner why the separate service gargles when it took three times to fix the problem his response was "they don't carry the parts on the truck". That may be true for the first service call but to come a second time without the correct part, need to come a third time, and then charge - absurd. When I questioned the owner why their service wasn't guaranteed as they stated and why charges for the different calls when it was the same problem all I got was rudeness. After this experience I would recommend not calling this company. read more

Awful customer service and trying to get them out to correct a problem that was cause by one of there techs was impossible. I was hung up on twice (once by the tech and once by "Bob" himself) after having a problem with being told quite rudely "What do you want me to do?!" Bob's appliance service was very rude to me... Short story - they have options and didn't educate us on the options, then were harsh and rude that we chose the service pathway they don't stand behind. It's nice when you only hold people accountable when you did your due diligence. Long story: Called them with what the error code was and that google said usually it was a particular part... They told us we should order the part and have someone come out to install it. Well that wasn't it... What they never told us is the parts jockey doesn't how to diagnose anything, and they only stand behind their work if they 'diagnose first' a $60 fee. That would have been fine if I was told that was even an option... Then at least I could be reminded I chose to not accept professional service and only have a mechanic come out... They were very angry when I was upset with never being informed about this no professionalism parts only option path that we were guided down. Harsh tones of voice, annoyed I called... Belittled my statements, interrupted and talked over my explanations of what I was feeling... The only reason they get two stars is because they are coming back to check they installed the part correctly. They however are refusing to provide the other option for service without starting over in terms of service costs. Will edit this review if that changes. No matter what happens, even if they fix the machine for free at this point, no way I would rate them more than 3/5. If they fix it for a fair price, still 3/5... This is not a pricepoint of cost review, but a better not cross these guys review, or you will regret wasting time on the phone... I'm a moron, ignorant, and foolish for even thinking they weren't perfectly behaved apparantly. (Moron, ignorant and foolish are insinuations based on tone of voice, behavior etc, not direct quotes.) Coulda had 4 stars even not fixing the problem if they were at least nice over the phone... Businesses need to own up to any mistakes you may have made even if small and minor. Attitude is everything. A courteous tone of voice helping to explain and $10 credit on an $85 call, and an apology wouldn't at all make me feel better about the issue nor fix the issue but it would have made me think they respect their customer...
