Dr. Richard Woo's background and online reviews are commendable; therefore, I felt comfortable going to him. Although there were some issues scheduling a date because he recently moved offices from San Mateo to Burlingame, the receptionist was helpful and patient, which is a good sign. After "encouraging" my DD to wash her feet out of respect for the doctor, we went to the appointment yesterday and waited about 10-15 minutes to be seen. Dr. Woo is professional and personable...very nice guy overall. He did a thorough examination on my DD. Of course, I always ask lots of questions and he answered each one. Some of the questions didn't pertain to my daughter but I wanted to see if he would go the extra mile within reason. I liked the fact that he recommended OTC arches and certain shoes that would help my DD. He explained that custom-made orthodics are expensive and most insurance companies do not cover them. However, if the OTC orthodics don't work, we will need to follow up with him. I would recommend him and will go see him in a few months (if I don't chicken out) for my appointment. The office is bare but clean. They just moved in recently, so the decorations are on the back burner.

Dr. Hannah Lee saved my foot in ONE visit! Tiny and extremely difficult to see foreign splinter(s) were lodged in my foot making walking so painful and difficult. For about a week, I was in absolute misery, pain and frustrated by the numerous healthcare professionals that could do nothing. Some even made me feel gaslighted because according to them, "if nothing appears on X-rays then there is nothing there and nothing can be done.". This is not true. When I finally found Dr. Lee and got to see her, it was 100% a different experience from the other providers immediately. I felt so safe in her care, confident about her expertise and judgement, and got the sense she truly cared for me and my well being even though we just met! Dr. Lee listened to me, examined my foot, and saw the issue that needed to be addressed! She was completely understanding and empathetic and explained sometimes if too small, X-ray might not pick up the image. She had the skill and confidence to find and surgically remove the tiny foreign objects, which she showed me after the procedure, that were causing me so much pain and misery. She did so in ONE visit , with minimal discomfort, and though my foot was sore from procedure, immediately after it, I was able to walk without that sharp, debilitating pain I was feeling prior to this visit. I saw her again as follow up and she assured me all was ok and then helped my feet look and feel so much better in my second visit with her! She is so kind, compassionate, skilled and gave me wonderful advice no other foot specialist took the time to give me before. Not only did Dr. Lee save my foot, my ability to walk normally and exist in life, she also saved my holiday plans to spend time with family and loved ones. If my foot wasn't fixed I would have been completely isolated for the holidays , unable to walk normally, and in excruciating pain. Because of Dr. Lee, she saved my foot, and my ability to exist without debilitating pain, and enjoy time with my loved ones during such a special time of year. I can't begin to tell you how deeply grateful I am for Dr. Hannah Lee ...for her high competence, skill, compassion and empathy! She is a true blessing and I highly recommend Dr. Hannah Lee to those suffering from foot ailments in search of an amazing and exceptional podiatrist.
