Good food, good service, only issue was that there were only two servers running the whole bar side and both were clearly spread too thin.

Went to BBs twice this week. Saturday night was crazy busy. Had a drink at the bar while waiting for a table. Great service. Table ready. Sit down, review menu and order. Haddock chowder, salad, fried calamari and two burgers. Orders came out in the correct sequence. Apps then burgers. Everything was great. Calamari is perfectly cooked and hot. Looked appealing. Burgers juicy and cooked the way we ordered them. Wednesday, son and daughter-in-law join is. I highly recommend Bobby Byrnes. Get seated right away. No waiting. Not very busy. What a mistake. We order four cups of clam chowder, one calamari, and four entrees. Long wait time. Out comes three chowders. Now you know this is already prepared and just sitting in a pot so why does that t take so long? At last the fourth chowder comes along with the calamari and three of the entrees. Not four. Try the calamari. Cold, inedible and then it looks like it has been hanging around for a while. Couldn't eat it. Send it back and ask that it be removed from the bill. Then we wait and wait for the fourth entree. Waiter says it will only be a few more minutes. Told us this twice. When i sought him out to ask a third time, he gets a little indignant and tells again it will be a few minutes. Probably waited 20 more minutes for the last entree. What happened? Beats me. How long does it take to cook a piece of scrod? My bet, the order got dropped. Probably won't be going back. read more

I ordered a strawberry salad with greens, almonds and feta. There only three strawberries and two of them weren't ripe. There was also too much feta. I like fruit with salad, but this was a huge disappointment. I told the server the salad wasn't good and she didn't offer to comp it or give me a free dessert to compensate. Went here for dinner with family on Friday night. We had Jake for a waiter and he was amazing! Our food was great and we met Fiona, the manager. Everything was so good that we decided to go back again the following night. We were greeted by Jake and Fiona and again had a great meal and service. The fish tacos are delicious! We went in for a drink and a quick bite after attending a wake. There was not a smile to be found on any of the bar staff. The 2 bartenders came across as miserable and unfriendly. The nachos had to have been microwaved because the chips were rubbery and tough, as was the few pieces of chicken that were on them. I had a couple of firsts at this place: 1. I left 3/4 of a Guinness on the bar because it tasted like the lines hadn't been cleaned, ever 2. Very cool & dim Irish pub in the heart of the Mashpee shopping commons. Took awhile for someone to greet our table, and when the angry gent from behind the bar finally did we felt like we inconvenienced him. He snickered at everything we ordered...like doing his job and making an easy $20 was a pain in his ass - maybe because we weren't drinking alcohol? He thought he was slick taking the orders for 4 people without writing it down, but maybe the memory is going because he forgot/didn't place our soup order. Pretzel was excellent and the sandwiches with fries were all delicious. Great fountain soda style diet cokes and sodas too. This was the poorest pasta I've ever had. I got 2 penne Alfredo one with shrimp and broccoli and one with just broccoli. It appeared like soup in the container so I decided to take the $22 worth of pasta and stick it right into the fridge. With the hopes it would solidify and I could actually cook the sauce down to make it thicker because it was as thin as an old ladies hair. So I get back to the pasta later that evening and my oh my, I'm siting there with pasta that my partners sister didn't want so I have double pasta and I go to cook it and the sauce broke. That means the oil was separated from the cream sauce and it was just a big ass plate of oil. I was appalled and knew this would be a one star review. There's no way people should have to pay for stuff like this I mean come on like there was literally just a butt load of oil in the container. I was told by 3 other people that they make good fish on Fridays and their burgers were food so get that when you come here. STAY AWAY FROM THE PASTA. It's disappointing and disrespectful to any person that's ever eaten Italian food. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday evening for a bite. The host was very pleasant, the waitress was as well. However the food was disgusting, the steak tasted like microwave steaks, the clam chowder was watery with no flavor and very little clams, the the shrimp rice bowl was so salty it could give someone high blood pressure. This place gets crowded. It's located in a downtown area of Mashpee, MA. When we arrived, the hostess said 30 min wait, for two. We were starving, so decided to give her our name, number, and walk around the promenade. We are so hungry, couldn't really enjoy our walk so we decided to walk back, and the girl call us as we approached the restaurant, sweet!! Inside the restaurant their are 2 sides with one bar in the middle, and a outdoor patio bar area with minimum seats. The waitress was super nice, and warned us in the beginning that the kitchen was backed up. We were so hungry, we didn't care at this point. Lots of families, and of course tourist. I decided to order the fish tacos and my friend ordered a cheeseburger. We waited about 20 min for the food, wasn't horrible. The cod was fried to perfection with a good breading. I got the side quac, however it looked like quac spread instead, I like my quac chunky. It has no flavor, it actually looked more like wasabi minus the wasabi taste. Went in for an early dinner on a Friday in March. We were seated in what was pretty obviously the section for parties with children, up and way in the back. For a pub, I thought the beer selection was pretty poor, but they did have Guinness and Harp, so the Irish part was legitimate. The menu was far-ranging, and being recently transplanted Californians, we tried the nachos for an appetizer. They were perfectly fine; I liked the roasted jalapenos, though the little plastic cups of sour cream and salsa didn't help the overall effect. We also shared a burger that had boursin cheese. Creamy, fluid, soft potato chunks, tasty clams and a desire to want to eat more. 3.5/5. Lobster Roll meal with good flavor, but relative to other rolls it lacks the meat volume, chunk size and flavor. On the plus side, my Lobster Roll had a good bread with a light crust and soft interior. The accompanying noodle salad has novel ridges that retain Cole slaw type salad dressing and dill spice, to produce a saucy texture that is quite tasty. 3.2/5. Spinach Salad with Grilled chicken. This would have been an easy 4 rating but the chicken was on the dry side. We have eaten here two times before, so repeat business normally qualifies for a four rating. The key to maintaining the 4 rating, essentially saying, "I would gladly eat here again", is consistency in good quality food and service. As a side note, this is the first time I have had a waitress wear sunglasses while memorizing my order. I understand our poor waitress has to fight the bright sunlight, but I personally prefer eye contact and a written record of what was ordered to settle disputes. We go here once in awhile. Sometimes it's okay, and sometimes less so. Today we went forSt Patrick's Day. I had the corned beef plate. My husband had corned beef sandwich. His was great. Nice corned beef on marble rye with mustard on the side, chips and pickles. Just how we like it, no cheese or other strange things. The plate however was dinky, watery and lukewarm. The cabbage was over cooked. Do it right or not at all Worth going if you are nearby and hungry. Not worth a trip. Odd lunch experience at BB today. We asked if there was a problem. Our waitress acted surprised. As our order came the party of five next to us left. As did a few others we had watched enter. Our food again was liuke warm. I felt that our experience was better than expected! The rating on Yelp wasn't great, so I was a bit apprehensive. We ordered a burger, clam chowder, Brussels sprouts and the Mac & cheese. Food was not so great, "fried chicken" was really just breaded chicken, the baked seafood was soggy, the vegetable medley was a microwaved frozen veggie mix (which was still partially frozen) and the French fries were limp. My wife and I visit Cape Cod a couple of times a year since my daughter & her husband purchased a vacation home in 2020. Because of Covid we mostly order take out. Last week we decided to try Bobby Byrne's. Since we carried out I cannot comment on the staff or service but I have to say the food was EXCELLENT. The first time (yes, we ordered again) we had a quart of the CHOWDAH (Boston accent), it was superb: creamy, not too salty & absolutely delicious. We were surprised it was cold, not hot, but it makes sense because most people could not consume that much chowder at one time so you heat what you want and refrigerate the rest for the next day. This was not a big deal, unless I wanted to eat in my car, which I admittedly have done during the pandemic. The fish tacos were fantastic, with plenty pieces of cod, crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside with just the right condiments. The pink tartar sauce (forgot the correct name of it) hit the spot. This is probably one of the best fish tacos I ever eaten and I know because I'm 74 years old (just a little humor) The Cobb salad was also a winner: I especially liked the feta cheese, bacon, and fresh crispy greens; however, I could have done without the chopped onions. If you're looking for good food in Maspee, this is the place! Congrats to their kitchen. Oh yes, I did return for a second carry out this week. Grandkids came to the Cape so besides our adult meals, they had the kid's burger with fries: an almost adult size burger with plenty of fries!
