Why the one star? Returns are store credit only. This is the most ridiculous return policy, especially for a design store. Sometimes items just don't work for the space/idea one might have for them. If an item is returned within days of purchase as result, the expectation is full refund. I do understand it is a small boutique shop. However, I would think return customers would be your bread and butter. I will not be returning as a result of this return policy. (Pun fully intended.) Edit: It is never clear to me why businesses insist on attempting to resolve an issue by simply restating their policy. Suggestion, if response is simply to restate, then don't respond. Said return policy is not clearly posted. If this were the case, purchase would never have been made. Suggestion, inform patrons verbally at time of purchase.

Theres so much to look at and you can certainly find a gift for yourself or others here. We loved the art work inspired from visions seen in Peyote rituals and the colors and designs were mesmerizing. The owners travel to Mexico searching for great artwork for the shop so it's worth stopping by every now and then to see whats new.

Heather, the owner, is wonderful and has a fine eye for exceptional things. I went there recently with my sweetheart, and we had the delightful experience of meeting Tracy. As we were there midweek at kind of an off-time, we were treated to wonderful descriptions by her of different items and different artists. Not only was Tracy informative, but she was exceptionally careful with our purchases. We needed them wrapped up as we were traveling, and she packed them with meticulous care--even labeling the purchases so that we could see through the wrapping what item was what. This was especially thoughtful and enabled us to swiftly divvy up our items without having to unwrap everything beforehand. A truly terrific experience.

This store reminds me a lot of City People's but on a much smaller scale. They have a bit of everything - chocolates, candles, bird feeders, lotions - this store has it all. There are consignment stores, and vintage stores, and non profits that sell some similar stuff and charge and arm and a leg for facsimiles. Danny seems like he loves getting stuff so that the right owner will gravitate towards the good and he has an eye for quality. For example, vintage baseball globes, Raybans, gems, handmade wood toys, a random barrel which could contain rum or poison, and musical instruments. Who knows. There are lots of masks, treasures, and harder to find stuff if you know where to look and how to look. Am I collector? Yes! I will share that this hidden gem of a store is better than many places I've visited in Seattle and in sleepy towns. The sleepy towns have some legit finds. Please support Danny. Renate Ruby, shop owner, is basically a curator of craft. She travels to the factories of the furniture lines she represents, for example, so she speaks from the perspective of someone who has really dug in deep to get the know her products from the inside out. Warning: only get her started on the properties of quality linen if you are prepared! That girl knows her stuff. She's scouts out things like small-batch wallpapers and dishware that are not readily available. So that's cool. The other thing I notice about the shop, well check the hours before you drop in, is that there are occasional events that bring people I have never met together, Once, there was a salon-like gathering and the presentation was on perfume. Again, small-batch, hand-crafted product. Because we live in a world that increasingly feels mass-produced (maybe it's my reaction to the myriad of cranes and skyscrapers being build in this SeaTown), it's important to find and share these gems. Without them, what would our world look like? Target and Ikea only? Check it out.
