He runs a weird shopping center with a strange mix of stores, but the real racket is the parking! He's now charging $5 for all day parking (no in and outs!) The lot seemed safe. Inside the store, it seems that he's trying to sell some assortment of antiques and beer paraphernalia, including a sweet looking Lone Star Beer tap handle! (Only $60!) Other than that, it was mainly sodas and snacks, and extremely over priced water toys. The guy was friendly, and the signs made it real clear where to park and where not to. The dam was a lot of fun- make sure to go sliding down the front of it! Wooooooooeeeeeeee!!! Don't wear your best swim suit- I've ended up with holes in my shorts after sliding down so many times!

The park they built across the street is beautiful and equipped with a skate park, basketball court, playground and swings. I see why so many of the locals hang out here. I have found great items from food to cosmetics to pet goodies. I was grateful to find they have many options even though they are on the smaller side. When it is cold I often come for the warm and ready gumbo and tortilla soup. Their low carb ready to go meals have made my life so much easier during the busy week. They even have sourdough fresh made in the bakery. I usually end up here over most other stores for my main groceries due to the always pleasant experience. It does tend to get pretty crowded and parking can be tricky. So I often come during early hours during the week.

The main reason was my Bro needed to get a new LP tank(not a refill but a new filled tank) So, first we go to Sporting Goods because I figured I could get my Hunting/Fishing License since we were there, only there are literally five employees behind the counter but they couldn't have been doing too much as i was told the Texas license system was down due to the Wi-Fi being down-not working?? After some wait, i finally got serviced. Then my Bro goes to the front counter with his items-and to order a LP tank, which I'm pretty sure it has to be done in person via a live cashier. There was only one register open so we wait in line but when we got to the cashier the dude says, "This lane is closed,,I'm taking a break." So, my bro asks what other lanes were open? To wit the cashier snuggly states, "None". We're like, why the heck would you take a break and not call someone to take over the register or open another lane?? Well, Bro is so PO'ed by this point he leaves his sht on the belt and says let's blow the joint! So, we leave and go to H-E-B. I doubt my bro will ever return to this Walmart again even if there's no other choice-not sure I will either. So, what has happened to customer service at Walmart?

I really like this Walmart because it's clean and there aren't toys or clothes on the floor like you find at other Walmarts. The food selection is better here than at nearby Walmarts. That might be because if Fredericksburg and the tourist industry. Either way, there are steaks and sausages that I can't get elsewhere. The premium cheese selection is also something to check out.

You'll find lots of single serve bottles, mixers, ready to drink items and cold wine. Behind the checkout counter is where they keep all the good stuff. I noticed some of the wine prices were quite cheap while others were outrageously expensive. They do not sell any Texas wines except for one varietal of Becker. They do have monthly specials posted behind the counter and a small cigar humidor as well. Plenty of photos included for you to study.

Then I decided to get ginger chews which were about $2 and I purchased 2 bags. The associate rolled his eyes and seemed so frustrated. I asked him was there a problem and he said well this tiny sell just destroyed my numbers and percentage for the day! I was floored that someone would say that out loud and treat a customer in such a way. I told him well it's better than selling nothing I suppose, and he shrugged his shoulders. I will not shop at this location again and I will tell everyone about how I was treated. Hopefully upper management will review this post and remove this associate from his duties.
