I came to Bobaland in West Covina expecting good drinks, but honestly... the seasoned fries completely stole the show. Let's start with the obvious, the fries. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and coated in this perfectly balanced seasoning that hits savory, slightly salty, and just a little addictive. You know those fries you keep reaching for even when you're full? Yeah, those. I'd come back for these alone. The drinks were solid too, refreshing and nicely made, with a good variety to choose from. But if I'm being real, I barely paid attention once those fries hit the table. The vibe inside is chill and a great spot to hang out with friends. It's very small though with maybe three tables inside and a few chairs against the wall to sit in while you wait for your order. Not a big place so don't expect to fit with a stroller or anything like that lol. Service is usually quick, and everything comes out fresh. However, I have even there at times when it's busy and it can take up to 20 min to get your order so if you're in a hurry call and find out if you're going during their busy hours. Bottom line: come for the boba, but DO NOT skip the seasoned fries. That's the real star here.
This has to be one of the best boba places in town. Although I don't get actual boba I have before and it's really good. But i decided to try something different and got the strawberry swirl and it was delicious. So creamy and so perfectly sweet. The popcorn chicken is our favorite and def our go to for a snack. The season fries are delicious. They have a sweet and salty taste to them. My son isn't a big fan so I get him regular fries and he tears it up. Everyone there is so sweet. The place has a little area to eat with a few tables so we like to sit inside and enjoy. I love this place. Definitely our go to and our favorite spot. 100000 recommend!
I ordered the Avocano ($7.95) at Bobaland (West Covina). The first sip tastes of finely crushed ice. The second sip tastes of soft, sweet avocado. The third sip tastes of supple, gentle, sweetened jellies. The Avocano is a pleasant drink that's creamy and cold with a whopping portion of fresh & sweet mashed avocado. The effort and careful creation of this beverage is visible and appreciated. I arrived at Bobaland (West Covina) on Wednesday (around 6:52PM). The location is difficult to find because it's small and plain. Thankfully, there's plenty of parking, and Bobaland (West Covina) is walking distance from the Regal Edwards Movie Theater. Staff is functional. Staff works hard, and staff are terse and focused. This hidden location is busy with high customer flow and phone call orders. I ordered the Avocano ($7.95). The drink was completed in eight minutes and 33 seconds. As mentioned, I genuinely enjoyed my Avocano. It contained good quality ingredients, and it felt fresh. The portion felt reasonable, and it quenched my thirst. The drink was not too sweet; rather, its flavors felt well-intentioned and properly measured. Unlike gimmick locations that skimp, Bobaland (West Covina) felt well-composed and high-quality. Concerning ambiance, Bobaland (West Covina) is extremely ugly. This place is the living embodiment of "don't judge a book by its cover." The walls have a nauseating haunted house yellow color; the furniture is plastic and uncomfortable; and its crevices are brown and harshly scuffed. Honestly, its ugly design is either very dated or it's intentional so it can dissuade any customers from lingering. Bobaland (West Covina) is also very small and tight. It's cramped, and no music plays. There's just awkward silence. I also dislike how they have this one tiny trashcan with flaps which forces you to always touch its dingy top. On the positive side, the location is surprisingly well-ventilated. Its air smelled clean despite the strange strands of hairs underneath a few plastic tables. Also, the place offers many electric wall sockets (despite several of those sockets looking strangely brown and crusty). It even has wifi internet and password. To its credit, the one gender neutral restroom (for customers) was also very clean. Overall, I do recommend Bobaland (West Covina). Its appearance might be plain, cramped, and putrid; however, there's sincere care and love laced within those drinks. This local hidden gem is popular for good reason. 4.5 out of 5
omg i'm just realizing now i forgot to take photos of my food + drink lmaooo but it was so quaint and opens late! lots of people outside the storefront around 10pm still. i ordered the popcorn chicken and strawberry smoothie with boba for my bf -- yommy and freshly made! but nothing mindblowing
love the late hours. i ordered popcorn chicken even at 11pm, chicken was fresh and crispy. the spicy powder is really spicy so they kindly gave it to me on the side. the fish balls were ok, just like regular fish balls and i don't think it was worth $6. the drinks are good too.
I have to come back here! The flavors are amazing and the staff is so nice! They know how to deal with difficult customers (I watched it happen) and they fully understand what customers want! The shop is so cute and there's a tv menu for people to look at before they get in line IF NEEDED! The chairs are set up and it's colorful and very nice! We came here after the bar flooded so not only are they open late but they save the night! We had a group of friends that went to Bobaland and it was a great way to end the night for all of us! We got to sit there and talk and enjoy our drinks together! Thank you Bobaland for a great time and great drinks!
Came by here for a tea fix. It was a bit hard to find since the store front is small, but look for the bright yellow wall! There are not a lot of seats here (seating for maybe 10) and it's a very narrow shop, so it's more of a takeaway place. Honestly if you are claustrophobic, you might be uncomfortable spending a long time here. I picked up a couple drinks: * Mango Swirl with boba * Lychee green tea with crystal boba - I liked that the drink included a couple actual Lychee fruits in it! The teas we tried were good! Good level of sweetness, although I requested the green tea at 75% for the hubby since most of the time, most places are on the sweeter side. He said next time he'll get it with no adjustments since it was not that sweet. Decor here is cute, I like their cartoon llama theme.
Taste like ice and oat milk. I told them and no luck on fixing it . As a tax payer in America this is unexceptionable.
cute boba shop next to my go-to nail salon! the drinks my kids and i tried were pretty good. thai tea - perfect sweetness mango yogurt - tasty and filling house brown sugar milk tea - good strawberry swirl - mehhh this spot has a good variety of drinks and snacks. the popcorn chicken is a must try! it's not spicy but has a good seasoning. also got the bubble waffle which was not as airy as i'm used to but edible. probs won't order that again.
Service was just ok, and the drinks were mediocre too. I came here for a quick date and left completely unimpressed. Not much to add. Won't be back (plus it's far from my city anyways, lol).
I ordered crystal boba and they gave me regular boba and they said oh I'm sorry I did it wrong. I thought they were going to fix it but they didn't. We also ordered the avocado, we asked if it's an avocado smoothie they said yes. I got fresh milk with some avocado smeared on the cup. I told them I can't have fresh milk and if I can change for something else. They said no, then they said it's half and half and then they said it's just like a smoothie. Nothing is blended. I'm definitely not going back anymore.
I really enjoy Bobaland's drinks. Their drinks are well made and don't need any substitutions to make it taste good. My go to is their brown sugar fresh milk boba with cheese cream. The service is fast and the workers are friendly. The ambiance is nice, cute and modern. There are a decent amount of tables inside or chairs near the hallway while you wait for your drink. I highly recommend the caramel boba! Plenty of parking in their parking lot.
Reviews are largely positive. Many highlight the drink quality and variety, popcorn chicken and fries, and friendly, fast service.

Cute little boba shop! My friend and I needed a drink after slurping down salty bowls of pho nearby. I ordered the lavender milk tea with white boba. The lavender flavor was extremely fragrant! I love a good flower tea. The drink was overwhelmingly sweet though. I asked for 25% sugar, but I think the employee may have switched my sugar level with my friend's, who had ordered her drink at 100%. I couldn't stand how sweet my drink was, and my friend thought her drink tasted like nothing, so we switched! My friend loved my lavender milk tea and was really excited about the white boba. She'd never had it before and was pleasantly surprised by this new discovery. I ended up drinking my friend's jasmine milk tea. She thought it tasted like water, but it was perfect for me. Both the tea and milk flavors were light, just how I like it. It was super refreshing and thirst-quenching. read more

I went to Bobaland and ordered the house brown sugar milk tea with caramel boba, lala matcha with caramel boba, watermelon green tea, and a golden oolong tea with cheese. I drank the lala matcha, so I can only really comment on that, but my brother didn't complain about the brown sugar milk tea, so it probably tasted good. However the lala matcha tasted strange, I'm used to really strong matcha drinks, but this wasn't it. Now maybe I'm just not used to the cheese flavor in the drink, and that was the flavor. But to me it tasted strange. The boba however was pretty chewy, slightly inconsistent, but overall pretty good. read more
Don't let appearances fool you, this place has lit drinks. It's not too large of a cafe and seats can get limited, but the drinks are A+ taste-wise and cost-wise. We got the: 1) Sea Salt Milk Tea (Regular sized, less sweet): -it's just a standard milk tea with some sea salt on top, but this added a salty flavor that went really well with the butterscotch flavor of the milk tea -It's not sea salt caramel, so it's in it's own category. I really enjoyed this and even at less sweetness, it was enjoyable. 2) White Chocolate Milk Tea (Regular sized, regular sweetness): -Super decadent, if you have a sweet tooth, I'd recommend this. -You taste the strong, sweet white chocolate flavor clearly and you get a nice toasted tea flavor afterwards. My friend really enjoyed this. If you want solid affordable milk teas, this is the place to go! read more

My fiancé and I went to bobaland yesterday to try their drinks and popcorn chicken. I loved it. I ordered my go to drink, jasmine milk tea with boba, and my fiancé ordered a green apple slushie no boba. We both enjoyed our drinks. The boba was just right, soft, no weird textures or hard centers. The boba was perfect. The jasmine milk tea wasn't overly sweet and had the perfect hint of jasmine. The popcorn chicken was awesome. Hot, perfect amount of spice, good sized chunks, and soft. We asked for the spicy one and it was a good amount of spicy. The lady working was super polite, and it got busy afterward, which was a good sign about how good their food and drinks are. It's a small establishment, so please be kind if your order takes a bit. She was very kind and as quick as she could be, seeing as how it got quite busy after we ordered. I definitely intend to go back. I'm already craving that jasmine milk tea and that soft soft boba. read more

New boba spot that opened across from the movie theater. I like to support small businesses so my best friend and I decided to swing by. First off, he ordered the taro milk tea which was tasty and I am glad they are able to do the option of less sweet. I tried the vanilla milk tea, which is not really available in other boba spots. It tastes like regular milk tea with a hint of vanilla. Prices are cheaper than other boba spots (less than $3 for my vanilla milk tea). It is rather small inside, but cute decor on the wall (tiny figurines and cute plants). I would come back in the future to try their snack options as well. read more

If you come here ask for Christopher Vu! Extremely welcoming and helped me with all my questions about the drinks and the menu. Even went out of his way to help me tie my shoes! I ordered a mango swirl and when he told me they were out of mangoes he got on his knees and started apologizing profusely for the inconvenience. I ended up getting the strawberry swirl instead! The drinks were also very good and seemed to be made with high quality ingredients. On my way out, he opened the door for me and proceeded to open my car door as well. As I pulled out of the parking lot, I saw him helping an old lady across the street. What a stand-up guy! 10/10 would come again! read more

I came back again! I just loved their spring oolong tea, the server recommended me getting the milk tea version of it. Of course it did not let me down! They also let me sample their popcorn chicken and it was SOOOOOO juicy and crunchy! read more

The lala fruit tea was very refreshing. I had forgotten to adjust the sweetness but it turned out not overly sweet like some places. I typically would adjust to 25% sweet at other boba shops. Would definitely come back. The taro milk tea was a tad too sweet but given that I typically prefer likely sweetened drinks it is probably just right for typical people. read more

I am always in this area and didn't know they had a good boba spot here. There's really not that many great boba spots in this area and that sucks especially when I'm always craving it. White Peach Oolong Tea is probably one of my favs. They make it from genuine tea bags/packets. I would recommend it if you're looking for something refreshing and not milk based; it has a solid tea taste with a pinch of peach flavor. The popcorn chicken was crisp and tender. Fish balls had spices and seasoning and were pretty good. This place is under new management and family owned, so I suggest trying them out and supporting them! read more
Having just eaten dinner at a burger joint a couple of blocks away, my husband and I wanted to get boba. While walking to another beverage shop, we came across Bobaland. They're currently having their grand opening, so we decided to change our plans and give it a try. This is a family business and you can tell that it's very new. Walking in, the small shop was busy and most of the tables were occupied. The woman cashiering looked like she was the owner. She was nice, professional, welcoming, and accommodating with our order. There is a clean and well-stocked restroom for customers and the shop's overall decor is clean, simple, and well-decorated. Looking at the menu, the drinks are all incredibly reasonably priced between two and four dollars per drink. They also offer a small food selection that includes fries, popcorn chicken, fried tofu, and fried squid. I ordered a lavender milk tea with pudding with light ice, and bae ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee. I upgraded my drink to a large for free with the Yelp check-in offer, and bae also upgraded his drink to a large. There were seven teenage boys who had ordered blended drinks ahead of us which understandably take a lot more time to prep than iced drinks; our wait was about fifteen minutes for our drinks. My drink was on the sweet side, and my husband's was of average sweetness. Overall, the drinks were great, the customer service was good, and the prices are more than reasonable. I would definitely come back again, especially because the prices are so low compared to most other boba shops in California. read more
Newly opened, Bobaland is located in the strip mall that is right across the street from the West Covina Edwards Theater, specifically located next door to a nail and spa shop (an easy miss). My husband and I decided to try this place out yesterday evening around 6:45 pm. After looking over the menu board, we ended up ordering: Oolong Milk Tea, $2.69 prior to tax- I initially ordered the Longan tea, $2.99 prior to tax. I had asked if the girl behind the counter could add milk to it and she said yes. But I can see how could have misheard me saying longan tea, thinking it was oolong tea. I really prefer flavored milk teas, so this wasn't my favorite. But for a plain oolong tea, the taste was fine. I had requested this to be made with no ice and 50% sweetener. Lychee Milk Tea, $2.69 prior to tax- My husband had asked the girl if he could order this hot. She said she couldn't because the machine to heat drinks was broken (thus we decided to have our drinks be made with no ice). My husband requested this drink to be made with 50% sweetener, like mine. He liked his drink. I thought it was good. -------------------------- (Total= $5.89 after tax) There is a $0.50 charge for credit card transactions under $10 (which I think they should add a sign. It is a good thing I asked before I was about to pay with my credit card because she didn't seem very forth coming in her answers), so my husband ended up paying cash since I rarely carry cash. There is no outdoor seating for this place and the indoor seating is very small with about 4 tables with chairs. There does not seem to be any outlets so this may not be ideal for those that wish to be in a quiet place like this, to study. The seating area and register is about the space of a small bedroom. There is 1 unisex restroom, which was clean upon this visit. Would be nice to have a mirror in the restroom. I was kind of bummed out that we were unable to get our drinks hot and disappointed with my drink. Overall, I don't see myself coming back. read more

First time here. Loved their drinks. I tried the Lala Fruit Tea and Lemon Yakult (25% sweet on both), soooo good. I also tried the popcorn chicken, which is good--pretty typical of what I expect of popcorn chicken from a boba place. It's also a very quaint place, which I like. Chill atmosphere. My friend and I chilled here for an hour catching up and it was a super lovely place. Would definitely come again. read more

A small, casual spot in West Covina that has delicious milk tea with fresh, soft boba! I got the green milk tea and asked for less sugar and it was perfect, so if you like to customize this part of the drink the lady will definitely listen to you! And not every place does! The shop is definitely not as fancy as some other boba places, but my drink was $2.69 (WHAT) and it was honestly really good. They also have smoothies and many different flavors (they had lychee and it was really hard to make a decision, haha)! My friend got an avocado smoothie and really enjoyed it. Lots of parking, great prices, and a super chill atmosphere - what else could you want?! read more
