Small mom and pop in the local gas station. Didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised. Good food, fresh and tasty.

Stopped here for a quick bite while staying in town to camp for the weekend…read more Immediately I was intrigued by the diversity of the menu; they had a wide range of Mediterranean cuisines and all looked delicious. The interior was quant and personal, with the walls covered with old celebrities, European landmarks, and historical events that give it a storied feel. The service was very inviting; we got there 40 min before close (I know I'd hate me too) and they were just as kind as could be. I ended up trying the chicken soup of the day and their crab stuffed cannelloni, which were both pretty good. My only note for not giving 5/5 was I didn't taste any crab in the dish I got, just lots of cheesy goodness (which was still delicious). Definitely a hidden gem that is worth the stop!

I had the Mediterranean salad with chicken. Juicy delicious chicken with fresh romaine, tomatoes, cherry peppers, red cabbage, Kalamata olives and a great dressing. Yum again! My son had the Mediterranean gyro. Lamb & beef piled high on a pita with tzatziki, hummus, red onion, lettuce, jalapeño and feta. He said is was one of the best gyros he's ever had. Service was fast and friendly, a nice guy. As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!'

I love the taste of Giovanni's pizza! If you get sick of the same old chain pizza, step into…read moreGiovanni's! The buffet has lots of choices and comes with a salad bar and dessert pizza. If there's a certain pizza you don't see on the buffet, just let your server know and they'll get one out there! Very accommodating. I've been there a couple times as a regular customer and the food and service has always been great. Most recently I was apart of a party in the rentable back room. We were able to come in early to decorate and stay as long as we needed. The waitress assigned to us was very attentive! Overall a wonderful pizza parlor in Hillsboro! Give it a try!

Came back and said manager was busy but would get back to us. WAITED 1/2 HOUR! I went to find the waitress she was just hanging out in the front. She asked what I wanted and I said our waitress never came back. She said the answer is "our menu is what it is." End of discussion. Wasted time sitting waiting and due to schedule didn't have time for alternative. Called on 6/12 and talked to "owners daughter" who said - the waitress was "just a teenager" like that was an excuse. Said to leave whatever review you want. Very bad attitude. Said they have a cauliflower crust as the only option but waitress never mentioned it. Have eaten here in the past but will never be back. Obviously they have some severe cultural problems.

My husband and I housesat for friends in Athens, and they recommended we go to Tavolino for a…read moreweekend dinner. This place functions primarily as a daytime café, but on Fridays and Saturdays, the chef/owner crafts a rotating four-course menu that changes weekly. There is a shared bread or antipasto course for the table, then a choice of soup or salad, two entrees, and two desserts. We went the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. The bread course was a delicious focaccia, light and pillowy and infused with rosemary flavor. When we told our server how much we loved it, she offered us a clamshell with two additional slices to take home. That was such a nice gesture! I had the soup (a cream-based Italian soup with sausage, kale and potatoes), while my husband had the salad with homemade balsamic dressing. Both hit the spot. The dinner options were a choice of pastas. I had the puttanesca, which was bursting with big flavors from the garlic, anchovy and olives. If I had one slight criticism, it would have been that I'd have loved a touch more red pepper -- but I'll freely admit I have a higher spice tolerance than most people. My husband had the "summer fettuccine," which was prepared with bacon, corn and sun-dried tomatoes in a Gorgonzola cream sauce. I didn't taste it because I'm not a fan of the Gorgonzola flavor, but he raved. Both desserts were superb: a strawberry cake and an apple cake that our server informed us was also vegan. We never would have known. It was not dense at all in the way some vegan desserts can be. The server and the chef/owner were both so lovely and welcoming to two non-locals who stumbled in for dinner on a rainy night. It seemed like they knew everyone else there by name, so this is definitely a warm and inviting neighborhood place. The four-course dinner is a steal at $38 per person (plus tax and tip). It's also BYOB. We will surely be back on our next trip to Athens!
