This a review for the service Dept. I have bought several auto's here and The last one I bought needed inspection and oil change so I waited on it. It took a long time 1 1/2 hr. Then the Service desk lady said it was done. But needed new tires and that mine were pretty bad. Well how did it pass inspection then. She said it barely passed. She offered to sell me some budget tires for $80 ea. Which is too cheap for good tires on my SUV. So I went to a tire dealer I deal with often in Harrisonburg. And he said my tires were fine. He could have sold me $600 to,$800 set of tires, but was honest. So now I wonder if they even changed my oil and Actually inspected it. Lost confidence. Probably my last service trip. read more

Terrible terrible service. We took our Lincoln SUV in for a repair under the Lincoln warranty . The car would be down for 2 weeks . Jared and Kim from Subaru refused to give us a rental Keep in mind this vehicle is still under warranty. Now my wife has no way to pick up the kids or go to work . Terrible Experience: Avoid Bob Wade Autoworld! I cannot stress enough that my experience with Bob Wade Autoworld was a complete nightmare. Let me paint a picture of the nightmare I endured, so you can understand why I'm vehemently warning you to stay away from this place. During my trip to Harrisonburg, my 2005 Ford Mustang GT's transmission suddenly gave up, leaving me stranded. Desperate for help, I called Bob Wade and they informed me that they could fix it in two weeks' time. Little did I know that this was just the beginning of a series of disappointments. When I reached the two-week mark and called for an update, they had no clue when they would be able to work on my car. As someone living in DC, it was crucial for me to coordinate transportation, but the dealership showed no concern for keeping me informed or updated. To make matters worse, throughout this entire ordeal, Bob Wade Autoworld failed to offer a loaner car. As i have a full time job, I had to rely on expensive Uber rides to get to work in DC while my car sat in their lot untouched. They never once bothered to keep me informed or updated, forcing me to hound them for any ounce of information about my car. After nearly a month of waiting and persistent phone calls, they finally fixed the transmission, or so I thought ...... Due to their poor installation, the transmission broke down again, forcing me to pay $250 for a tow truck back to Bob Wade. In round two of my experience with Bob Wade, I experienced the same lack of communication, poor customer service, and frustration. After continued frustration, I asked about a loaner car which they provided at week three of them having my car. To really put the icing on the cake, when I went to pick up my car, they only reimbursed me up to $200 for the tow truck expense under the warranty. It was their mistake in the first place that I had to return to their dealership. To sum it up, my experience with Bob Wade Autoworld was a complete disaster. The dealership showcased horrendous customer service, exhibited rudeness, failed to perform quality mechanical work, and left me with an overall terrible experience. I strongly advise against going to Bob Wade for any automotive needs. Spare yourself the headache and find a dealership that actually cares about its customers. read more

I have bought two vehicles through Bob wade and was considering a third. Six months ago I bought a 2015 Chevy suburban and after having it a month I got a check engine light and took it to them. They said it was fine and sent is on our way. Not long after their warranty the same code came up and they want $5200 to fix the issue and will not honor the fact that I brought it to them under warranty. I would not buy another vehicle or recommend them to anyone. read more

Service Department: My parents' Subaru up and died at a light in Harrisonburg a little after 4pm, and after pushing it out of the way and waiting for a tow-truck, they had it taken here to be fixed. The service department had it diagnosed almost instantly as a bad alternator, and had the alternator replaced in less than 30 minutes. They could easily have waited until the next day to do the repair, but by diagnosing and repairing the problem so quickly (and at the end of the workday no less), they saved the cost of a hotel room and two meals in restaurants. That is service, now if only some of the dealerships closer to DC could learn how to operate this way... read more

Just bought a 2015 Forester from Dale Smith at Bob Wade. Dale is fun to work with...low pressure...heck, no pressure even fits. He found the specific vehicle I wanted with the exact colors and accessories we asked for and had it brought in for purchase. He delivered as promised and the car is wonderful. Of course we went and put 100 miles of joy ride on it immediately! I love it. There are also cool perks I should mention. Free inspections for the family for life, now we are Subaru owners....that includes my hubby's Toyota and my kids too. Great experience, no high pressure tactics, great service. read more

My wife and I made a trip to Bob Wade Autoworld on a Tuesday evening in mid-May 2021 in our 2017 Lincoln Continental for the express purpose of test-driving a new Lincoln Corsair. We were greeted almost as soon as we pulled on the lot by Chris who wasted no time in putting us in a base model silver Corsair. We were allowed to take the car out alone and were encouraged to take our time with it. We drove it to Weyers Cave and back and were impressed with it, particularly considering it was a base model. Upon returning to the dealership, Chris immediately wanted to know whether we were planning to trade our Continental, to which I replied that I didn't know (which was 100% true). He assured me I would be amazed at how good a trade-in price they would offer me. I told him we had just started looking and asked for a brochure. He explained that he didn't have any but said he could email me one, for which I thanked him. As we were leaving, the sales manager emerged and encouraged us to take the Corsair home with us and drive it a day or so. I declined, noting that it was not a vehicle we would consider purchasing based on color preference and the lack of a moonroof. He repeated the offer and I again declined. At no time was I invited to look at any other vehicles on the lot although online inventory showed other Corsairs were available in the Reserve trim. I went home and waited for the promised email version of a Corsair brochure which has yet to arrive. Finally, on the following Monday, we found a new Burgundy Velvet Corsair Reserve in Charlottesville and purchased it. The folks at the Lincoln dealership there bent over backwards to please us whereas I felt the Bob Wade team made very little effort to help us find our new Lincoln. I appreciate their willingness to let us test-drive on our own terms but they totally missed out on an opportunity to make a sale. I expected better. read more

I brought my 2013 Lincoln MKT here for an oil change and a warranty repair. They had to order a liftgate motor, so they changed the oil and we scheduled to install the part a week later. I was not given an invoice at this time. Half way home I hear a dragging sound from underneath. They had not reinstalled the metal aero pan and it was dragging the road. I was not too happy having to lay on the ground and tighten the two loose fasteners. I go back the next week to have the warranty part installed and received the invoice for the oil change. It indicated 5w20 was used, even though the manual and oil fill cap clearly state 5w30 is required. I was told "we put 5w20 in everything". After a couple minutes of research, they drained the oil and put in the proper 5w30 weight. I wonder how many other Ford and Lincoln vehicles they have put the wrong oil in? Final straw was I was putting something in the back and noticed the trim panel was not properly reinstalled from replacing the liftgate motor. read more

Bob Wade may be the worst auto repair AND sales organization in the world. Service 1st - I specifically asked the Service Manager to make 3 repairs. Two of them were completed ok. The 3rd was to fix the car seats. I had two specific conversations with the Service Manager and he assured me that the seats were fixed. No dice. So I had to bring my car back in after taking up an entire Saturday to deal with these nitwits. The Sales people are incredibly lazy. I tried to buy a car on the lot. There was no follow up from the web inquiry - even though I got an automated text from the web, and no follow up from 3 phone calls that I made, AND no follow up from the finance application that I submitted. read more

However, I was recently informed of some staffing changes, and just last week I was contacted by their internet manager. Nice people, but way jacked up prices. Didn't even consider alternate problems to my Subaru's catalytic converter "failure". Instead asked for close to $5k for various services or offered a measly $1000 for a trade-in. My car is still worth $4k even if everything was wrong that they claimed. Another local mechanic fixed what was necessary for $2800. read more

STAY AWAY!!! I am a college student that needed a reliable car to get back and forth to school. I bought a lincoln continental that had a title issue but looked like a nice car. Little did I know it needed spark plugs, coil packs, a transmission flush, and I had to pay out of pocket because these people stick to the AS-IS. They sold me a bad car and I had to live with the problems. SP, the General Manager, was a friend of mine and he told me he would talk to Bob to solve the problem and never did. He drug me along and made promises he couldn't keep. Since then, he has disconnected all contact with me and let me live with the problem. When I went to talk to Bob, he never knew of a problem because SP never informed him, never said a word. Bob however did try to solve the problem with his pathetic attempt to have his service guys change a spark plug. Then he offered to buy the car back at trade in value a week later. I even had my father come to my defense because these people kept bullying me around like a was a lesser person. After fighting with the service department and sales division, I finally just cut my losses and dealt with it myself. These people took my money and and nearly ruined my college career because of their pathetic, corrupt, and conniving business practices. I worked hard to buy a car all summer and to have it taken away in an instant really hurts. I can't get anything for the car because of the title problem, so I'm stuck with it. I hope they feel good about themselves because they really screwed me over. I will never do business with them again and I hope nobody else does either. This has just been an awful experience and to have no help makes it ten times worse. Thanks Bob Wade for the struggle. Not to mention, they tried to charge me a two hour job on changing one coil pack. I did it myself in 15 minutes. Service is a joke, the other reviewer probably got over charged as well. read more

we took our car in for airbag recall and were told that a airbag sensor needed to be replaced prior to replacing airbag. Would cost over $300. After contacting Subaru directly concerning this charge we were told that Subaru would cover the additional charge. Returned the car and they replaced airbag but not the sensor. This time they said it didn't need replacing. The explanation we got was vague at best. Beware brother beware! read more

My wife's Outback died on the way back from a cub scouting camp trip. I managed to limp it to Harrisonburg, and the next morning was directed to Bob Wade's service department. In the end, it was not good news...the turbo had disintegrated, sending metal through the engine, so we needed to change out the engine. I decided to two it back home (Fairfax, VA), but I just wanted to write this up as the folks at Bob Wade were very nice to me, helped diagnose the problem, and were supportive of my decision to tow it home...and they didn't charge me for the experience. If you're a Subaru customer in the Harrisonburg area, I definitely recommend them. read more
