These folks are prompt, highly communicative, HONEST, and their prices are excellent. I never had them quote for unnecessary repairs. They provided some helpful suggestions to do repairs that were reasonable for very old vehicles. They do quality repairs and they honor their work. When I had a rebuilt alternator fail about a year after replaced- they replaced it with no charge for the unit (just labor). I've also had brake work and other repairs done there with excellent outcomes. If you're looking for a reliable mechanic for your college student away from home and are worried about being taken advantage of by an unknown mechanic- rest easy. These folks are outstanding and trustworthy. I wish I had them in my town- they would be my go to mechanic every time!

My son's civic was overheating so I brought it into Route 11 to get checked out. I let them know…read morespecifically what diagnostics had been run at a previous shop before my son left for JMU, but they said they had to run (and charge) for their own diagnostics. I get that, so I agreed with the assumption they could resolve the issue. After review, they advised me the wrong coolant was in the car (which I have trouble believing because I've always bought the same coolant and never had an issue), they advised a coolant flush was needed, they said the fans were not working, and they let me know that there was an unrelated power steering leak. Additionally, they recommended I replace the upper and lower radiator hose. They said these were not an issue, but it was probably about time. I agreed to let them do everything except the upper and lower hose being they said they were fine and not leaking. I also agreed to a dye test which included putting dye in the power steering so they could find a leak. All of this was to the tune of roughly $1,000. A few days later they said it was ready and my son picked it up. I asked him what they said about the dye test and he said they did not say anything about. I called the shop and was told, oh yeah, he should bring it back in a few days so we can see if the dye is leaking. Unfortunately, I only found out about this because I called back in. Then a few days later the car was overheating again. My son takes it back and we are told the issue is the upper and lower radiator hoses. I asked how they were fine a few days ago when they were just a "recommendations" (that I declined), but now they are the root cause of the issue. They told me they watched it and now they see after it's been on a long time the hoses swell and leak. The explanation did not sit right with me, but I'm hours away and my 18 year old son needs his car so I let them do it for another $350. However, unfortunately again, my son drives 4 hours home a few days later and the car overheats. The shop texted me and called me that day asking how it was going and wanting me to come back and get some other work done. I responded it wasn't going well and the car was overheating still. I sent them photos of the coolant under the hood, but they stopped responding. I took it to a shop locally and they diagnosed it as a bad thermostat and the car has run smooth since. I wanted to like this shop as my brother recommended them, but unfortunately I cannot recommend them as the customer service is lacking. I'd advise to find a different shop for your car repairs.

It's fine that a mechanic doesn't particularly want to talk to customers. I get it. Other staff are ostensibly present to handle these human vs shop interactions, but usually they're not. And when they are there, what you'll get is a big helping of "tough luck" or a story about work you need done on your car and scoffing indifference if you refuse. They've repeatedly been unable to help me in a timely manner, and I am not alone. I don't know why these folks don't care... in general... they just seem ornery and apathetic. So. Avoid this place. I was wary about taking my care to be serviced at Walmart vs a traditional garage, but decided it was only having new tires installed, so worth a shot. To be fair, the technicians were fine. Did what was expected and in a timely fashion. The problem was the management team. Completely unresponsive to my complaint/situation. The problem was that I purchased tires from Walmart.com. With less than 10K miles on them, 2 tires had worn down to the wear bar. I had all 4 wheels aligned shortly after the tires were installed ...and the car had no evidence of pulling. I asked the manager to look into what could be done to either replace those tires or give credit towards new ones...crickets. Got the corporate run around. Explained he had to contact the store manager or possibly the regional manager. In the meantime, I contacted the tire manufacturer, only to find out that Walmart was selling a discontinued tire, with no disclaimer that the tire was no longer being made. The manufacturer said that likely the rubber had degraded with age and was the probable reason for the early wear. They absolved themselves of any culpability because a discontinued tire was out of their warranty. I brought that info to the auto care manager again. Once again, no response. It has been about a month since all this has happened and have not received any updates. I have visited the store numerous times and called a bunch more. I guess their response is to not engage. I have since sold the car, but this experience has put me off from ever using their auto care again and will most definitely not be recommending them to my friends or family.
