Little disappointed this morning. I eat here normally 2 to 3 times a week for breakfast. Today the French toast was dry, this usually happens when the bread doesn't soak up enough of the batter. They need to soak it in the batter longer before placing it on the grill. My bacon was a bit under cooked so I asked for it to please be cooked just a bit more and I didn't get it back until I asked for it which was the very end of the meal, so I didn't get a change to enjoy it with the meal. BE has the best bacon in the area. The people are polite. I will be back. read more

Haven't eaten at Bob Evans in years. Driving home from DC, we decided to try it. As we were waiting for a table, I read the yelp review with horror! Have to say that I didn't see most of the complaints that it seems several other yelp reviewers did. long waits, bad service and mediocre food. Got seated promptly, server was at our table quickly. We gave her our order for both coffee and food (fearing slowness in getting the food) both came quickly. We did see one couple get upset about their food, sent it back and then left. Not sure what was wrong but we saw people jumping through hoops to satisfy them. Some people you just can't. If I had one problem it was a slow refill on coffee. Maybe if I had more caffeine I would have been more upset! I'm sure there were some people that had relevant complaints but remember, CHILL it's breakfast. It's not McDonald fast food. I don't even know why I bother with this place. I've been there a few times and it's always a year or so in between each visit due to the fact that the service is beyond terrible. So I decided to venture in there tonight hoping the service had improved. Wow was I mistaken. I was dining alone so no one else was with me. The restaurant was not busy at all and no one else was waiting. Why was I waiting over ten minutes just to be seated. I just walked out and went across the street to Silver Diner. I'm now sitting her at Silver Diner getting prompt service and pretty good food. Sorry Bob Evans I am done with your Woodbridge location. Went here with family (party of 8, including 3 small kids) for brunch today. I've seen some of the other negative reviews on Yelp and we did not experience any negativity whatsoever. We had to wait, but even with a large party we still only waited about 10 minutes. The food also came out pretty quickly. Our server was courteous, attentive and even good with the kids. The food was exactly what you'd expect from a place that specializes in breakfast and home-cooked food. It was great and hit the spot like it should late on a Saturday morning. I mean, let's face it... it's a Bob Evans. It's supposed to be cheap, family friendly and decent. That's what it was, and I would say the food was more than decent. It was certainly above average and was a good value for the quality and quantity we received. If you want something fancy go to an expensive restaurant. If you want good food for a good price in a clean and family friendly environment, I think this place can certainly meet your needs and you'll leave with a full, happy belly and your wallet will still have some cash in it. read more

I title this..Disorganized to ruin any potentially good dining experience. For several years I have regularly gone out for breakfast and a meal at other times a couple times a week at a couple of "diner" places near my home. This bob evans, 3 ihop locations, montclair family diner, and dennys. Each does something a bit different...but this one is getting pushed down the list below Mc Donalds and Dunkin Donuts. That is baaadd. I want to give it 2 stars because they do apologize and try and what food you get is good..but please read on to see why you really should just find someplace else and why I rate this place 1 star. My decision wasn't made in a snap but over a bunch of experiences. What I have noticed is this location has the following: a dedicated couple of regular servers who are great, a good quality kitchen when staffed, woefully understaffed many days of the week (especially friday through monday..omg Mondays here SUCK as does tourist season and anytime a big convention comes to the Hylton chapel), regular apologies about a kitchen backlog, absurd amounts of tour buses randsacking the place, scarily bad staff and food after 2 pm, and the kitchen is constantly out of something. Sometimes it is something you can deal with, like no country fried steak, and then sometimes you find completely unacceptable, like coffee creamer...it is a breakfast place, how do you not start calling a district manager to get you some creamer?!?!. . and any vasic variety of breakfast meat..this is kinda what you do?!?!... Hello, it is Bob Evans, right up there with Jimmy Dean as one thinks of breakfast. Upper management clearly can't be bothered to get out here and help this location as I don't think the regular staff is chielfly to blame. They are left completely unsupported relative to the type of traffic they get here. I know the location is convenient, right off the highway ...but so is Dennys on Dale and Ihop on 234..so that doesn't explain the regular bad overall experiences. I give places oodles of chances, make alot of excuses and go in with patience, but I can't bring myself with 3 other options nearby (less than 5 minutes away by car) to regularly wait for a table, wait too long for the food, have to manuever my meal around someone who won't stock the store, and then put up with rude customers and "special" regulars also agitated by the mismanagment to ruin a meal I could make at home in less time if so inclined. I think I will just mosey on down and find someplace a bit more sincere about getting organized to take care of me as I do think my needs and wants are reasonable. read more

Went for breakfast this morning & even tough we usually enjoy eating here, I was very disappointed in the bitter & cold coffee that was served. Home fries were a little hard., otherwise food was Ok! Then went to use the women's rest room, it was disgusting!!! Floors toward the back were obviously full of water that was never mopped up, & one stall was broken. Counter tops were never cleaned. I've been to this place about 3-4 times. I usually get the breakfast dish that bring eggs, bacon, home fries, and pancakes. The food is delicious but I think the portion size could be a bit bigger. The first two times, the service was good but this last time the waitress seemed bored, uninterested, and just not very friendly. This place is not as crowded as IHOP which I like. And the pricing is not bad at all. I'll definitely go back again. read more

My spouse and I eat breakfast at this location frequently. The food is always superb for the cost. They have a wide menu of cuisine options for all ages and palettes. My only problem is the customer service is hit or miss! It varies by visit. I would rate this location higher, if the customer service was more attentive. Food is okay, but mostly because like all chain places, it is full of salt and sugar. Service can be slow. Menu has a lot of nice inexpensive choices. The people behind the counter, where you pay and place to-go orders are generally inattentive. We used to go there often because my elderly father was a fan. We had to stop going because the doors are so heavy and difficult to open. Same for the restroom doors. Eating here on a Sunday is horrible! The wait is forever, the waitress was nice but was extremely slow. She got my order wrong and had to wait forever for refills. A manager brought my soup over and spilled it on our table! Usually the first things to come out are soup and bread but that was last! It was mission impossible to get seconds on bread. We had an absolute terrible experience at this restaurant this morning. After the manager sat us at the table the server became visibly and verbally upset because we were seated in his section. I guess being double seated is a crime at Bob Evans. The argument between the two became loud and made the entire restaurant feel uncomfortable. It was just unprofessional and strange. I've previously been to a Bob Evans near Baltimore, which I absolutely loved. However, this location was so terrible it's the first restaurant I left without even being helped. I waited and waited, was finally spotted by a waitress and was told she would be right with me after she finished with someone else. She never came back over and I saw her talking with other employees behind the counter just across from me. Then a woman I'm assuming is a manager asked if I had been helped. Earlier this week I had been told a certain waiter is very good here, so I asked if he was there, which at every other restaurant i've been at has been treated as a normal question. Here I was shortly and rudely told that she couldn't tell me that because of security reasons and told me I could go look and see if I saw him. I have been craving Bob Evans ever since I went there for breakfast. I have the biscuits and gravy he and it had nice chunks of sausage in it you don't have to order extra on the side like I did. Two eggs over easy cooked just right in the biscuits were perfect not dry... I can't believe I haven't been going to this Resturant over all dennys, IHOP & Cracker Barrel. This is a beautiful location but leaves MUCH to be desired. I came here with my parents who were visiting from out of town in March (mom is a big Bob Evans fan) and the service was pretty horrendous. After waiting 15-20 minutes, someone took our drink order, later someone different took our food order, someone else brought out our food and a fourth person (who must've been our actual server) refilled our drinks and took away our dishes. We could hear employees mouthing off to the manager who obviously had no control of staff. Will never return. There are too many other options in the area. read more

I have never in my life been in a more disorganized restaurant in my life. The host instead of using a rag to wipe the table down and properly clean it. Used a napkin to brush the food onto the floor. The service was terrible one waitress to take care of 6 tables. They don't take your trash or your empty plates when the food is brought to the table. Other customers orders where taken before ours when we where first. Took 15 minutes to get two coffees and an OJ. I expected better from a Bob Evans that up until today I used to enjoy. read more

Have been to other restaurants in the chain and love the food, and it was good here, if you don't mind the substitutions. No grilled chicken for salads and no egg for the Cobb salad. I met my boyfriend for breakfast here. Service was pretty quick considering how crowded the place was. My scrambled eggs were great, the bacon was crisp. Waitress came back regularly- not too often to be a bother, and not infrequently enough that we missed her. The restaurant patrons are friendly too! Ate here for lunch. Place was busy but not slammed. The food came quickly, and was tasty. Good meal for the price, $20 for the two of us, and I got a full meal rather than soup and a half a sandwich. The only downside was the service, which was fairly fast but spotty. First, our waitress brought the wrong meal for me, I ordered wildfire chicken and got chicken without the wildfire sauce. In fact, she seemed to not know what wildfire sauce was, which is one of Bob Evans' signature things, like TGI Friday's bourban things. Still, it tasted good, so I kept it rather than complaining. Also ordered mashed potatoes and string beans, which were great. My wife ordered soup and a half sandwich with mayo. It came without the mayo. She asked for mayo a second time. The food is similar to a diner's and you can always order breakfast. The sausage gravy is a classic or you can try the pot roast hash. They make a nice stack of pancakes and the ones with fruit are better than the sticky, gloopy ones you can get out. For lunch or dinner, stick to staples and you won't be disappointed. Sandwiches are tasty, the cheese potato soup comes out hot and they make a clean crisp salad. The manager handled a minor billing mistake quickly and easily. He was pleasant and came to the table to make sure things were fine. The staff is pleasant but overworked. They always seem short handed. read more

On a recent weekend, a woman with a tattoo on her neck and the attitude of an unemployable was taking names for the wait list and couldn't handle that easy task.
