My wife and I stopped in for a mid morning breakfast after a procedure at Ontario Avita. The restaurant was clean and well kept. Our server was friendly and kept checking on us. He made sure our coffees were full as well. Bob Evans is usually a solid product and today was no different. Things that can go bad is usually service or an off meal of which neither happened today. We truly appreciated our servers personality and our food was absolutely terrific. Country biscuit breakfast for me and rise and shine for my wife, both prepared exactly how we asked! 11/28/2024 this event did occur on Thanksgiving. This location was set to close at 7PM. Upon entering the location at 545PM (75 minutes before close because I'm not an inconsiderate dingdong) I wasn't greeted, I was asked by a staff member if I was picking up. Upon being asked, I responded if there was a wait time for 13 people. (Yes, a large group, on Thanksgiving, I know, reference the 545 entry time though). The hostess, I kid you not, leaned over the counter and shouted out, OH LORD, 13. Then proceeded to go and talk to coworkers, laughing, being rude, Ect. I guess I don't understand what's so funny? I assume whomever the manager is then came over to me and stated sitting a group that large all together tonight wouldn't be possible. Fine, understandable. At this point the rest of my group had entered the building, including an elderly grandmother that struggles to get in and out of the car. After a very brief discussion we decided sitting at two tables would be just fine, it's Thanksgiving evening, we can't be picky. I then walked up to the manage and told him if he has to separate us, that's totally fine. He then proceeded to say he can't even sit tables of two right now. A bold faced lie. (They were not understaffed, and I have definitely seen them busier.) At that point I turned and told my group, "never mind, let's just go somewhere else." And that's what we did. Other customers apologized to us and wished us a Happy Thanksgiving, not the Bob Evan's staff. (You guessed it, two groups of two about to be seated). I have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant, from the initial contact until we left after about 5 minutes. I'm not a Karen, I truly believe an hour and fifth teen minutes before close is considerate. My family understood the circumstances, it's a holiday, and planned on tipping generously for work. We had our orders ready prior to arrival so that we could order right off the rip and be out by 7. You've got 13 people that will never return to this location, and likely never visit a Bob Evan's again. Upon leaving the parking lot, as we were driving around the back of the restaurant to exit the lot there were at least 4 staff members out back smoking, laughing, and having a grand old time. read more

Walked from my hotel room, arrive, no counter seating any longer. Ok I'll get some biscuits and gravy to go. "That will be a 45 minute wait." What??? BE always has biscuits on the ready and the gravy needs microwaved. 45 minutes? Does that mean the people who wait 45 minutes to get seated so have to wait 45 minutes to eat? Ridiculous. Sadly, I have to leave a review for this ONCE Fine restaurant that gave me food poisoning in February. Picked up our food and it was fresh and had just been placed on the shelf to be picked up. Got to the office and opened it up and dished it out. It LOOKED good, as always, but later at 4am we got VIOLENTLY sick. Out Doctor said it was food poisoning, NOT covid, flu or anything else and a day later we were all fine. And the Health Dept told us the same thing. The store also said they "couldn't refund the transaction". Okay. Fine. We WILL spend ALL of our $$$$$$ ELSEWHERE. Buh bye Bob! EPIC. FAIL. read more

Bob Evans is ok, not a place I would choose to go but do go if others I am with want to go. This one of all 3 in Mansfield is just got good. They gave us banana nut bread while we wait. Nice! It wasn't cooked all the way through. My melt was not cooked right either, lot of butter but hardly toasted so the bread was soft and falling apart. My mother's steak burger was good according to but. But she was sick the rest of the day. I have gone when it was good but you never know who's cooking!! read more

Like Cracker Barrel you basically know what you're going to get from Bobby E's, nice service, hearty food and a family/blue collar atmosphere. Was really looking forward to the Chicken Salad plate for dinner after working in the yard all day. Parked the car, got out, as I pulled on door to enter was met by the male "key holder" who informed us he was just getting ready to lock the door as the close at 8. I looked at my watch and it was 7:50. I asked if we could at least get a Togo order and was told he already closed the line down. When I said at the restaurant where I work, we take customers until closing and don't close the "line" down until closing time. He said "sorry". Calling General Manager tomorrow. read more

Server (Randy) was sweet. He was busy but still attentive to all his tables. The lady manager (Gloria) was awful! I heard her yelling at her staff the whole time. She was loud, rude and never checked on the customers. I would hate to work for her! Thanks for the good service and meal... My family and I came to this location on V-Day. The waitress was nice, friendly and very beautiful by the way. She interacted with the children, sang a bit and had a great sense of humor. Apart from being extremely busy, the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was delicious and well portioned. I think I may find myself being a regular at this location. read more

We went for lunch on a Sunday. I understand being busy but to completely forget about things is uncalled for. When the people in my party ordered and asked for items to be left off of their meal and they still got the items on their meal. It took forever for a server to even acknowledge we were there. Bob Evans = always amazing comfort food! Girlfriend ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy. I had the new broasted chicken, mashed potatoes, dressing and gravy. The breading was extremely crunchy and flavorful. The chicken was juicy and tender. The potatoes and dressing were perfect. My girlfriend's breakfast was just like I remember when I was a kid. The service was pleasant and efficient. Not sure why there are low ratings for this restaurant. Bob Evans is always a true pleasure to go to when visiting Ohio. read more
