We have been in Marietta visiting family stopped in to Bob Evans had breakfast 3 mornings in a row. First I will say the food was very good restaurant itself was clean and staff was friendly. We were super fortunate to get Beth as our sever she was absolutely one of the best severs I have ever had I have been going to Bob Evans for 40 years Beth was very attentive with a fantastic attitude and a smile that would light up the darkest days. Service was a slow, our drinks alone took around 5 minutes to arrive. We sat for almost an hour and only got two plates then waited a little longer for the rest. My sisters plate was missing half her food and she got it almost completely after she was done eating. Floor wasn't the cleanest, with a used butterknife under our table. The food over all was okay, my family liked the chicken and other things but over all the service was mixed. Sometimes it was perfect and others it felt like I was being waited by a brick wall. We just picked up the worst takeout order I have ever had. Driving twelve hours today, was looking forward to the breakfast break. We ordered a cheese omelet with two sides of crispy bacon. The cold omelet had no cheese inside, just crumbled up crispy greasy bacon. The two sides of bacon were practically uncooked, laying in a puddle of grease. Even the toast was terrible and cold. The food is great and you can get breakfast any time of the day. The servers are pretty good and friendly. One of my pet peeves, as far as ambience, is the squeaky door leading into the kitchen. I've been checking the bad reviews on this location because I couldn't figure out why it's star rating was so low. I found that almost all of the bad reviews were at least 2 years old. We had a great experience. Service was outstanding and attentive. Food was out quick, was hot and perfect. We had a large group and would have liked a large table but they just don't have those here - so they put us in Booths that were side by side AND let us put a chair in the aisle and just worked around us. I rarely give this type restaurant 5 stars but this location earned it. read more

Wow glad I didn't look at reviews before I stopped or I would totally have just drive on by. Decided to stop here because I hadn't eaten at Bob Evans in awhile. The food was amazing, the service was excellent and I could not have asked for a better experience. I ordered the sole with mashed potatoes and green beans and everything was delicious. I was surprised that they offered banana nut bread as an option to rolls or biscuits. I would recommend and would definitely stop here again to eat. We stopped by this Bob Evans on a Thursday evening right around dinner time and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which was fine because they were busy. Lexi, our server, was great. She was very attentive, checking on us frequently, but not too much. The food was very good as well. I'd love to give this restaurant five stars but I can't because of two issues. The booth where we were seated had seats that have definitely seen better days and should be reupholstered due to serious cracking. Lastly, the male restroom was disgusting. I don't mean it just hadn't been serviced recently, I mean it hasn't been PROPERLY serviced in weeks or months. The urinals absolutely reeked of stale urine. There were dried urine stains inside as well as outside the urinal. If not properly cleaned it will leave a restroom smelling of urine, which this one does. I about gagged when I stepped up to the urinal. Absolutely unacceptable! read more

This Bob Evan's had been there for our family for many years...Easter morning celebrations, Sunday brunch, evening dinner...but over the years, something had went amiss with them. This Bob Evan's has lost their way. What used to be a great homestyle meal has become something more of cold food that often tastes like it came straight from the microwave. Awful. Just awful. I feel pity on them...for what once was. They truly deserve 2 stars for what they've become. Their service has went downhill, their quality of food has went down hill. At least the interior is still clean. There's that. The last time we were in there, I didn't even finish my meal. No one at the table had. We left still hungry; preferring to go without, rather than eat what was put in front of us...what we paid for. My daughter and I stopped here for lunch. The Bob Evans near us closed recently, and we were looking forward to our favorites at this location. This restaurant is much nicer. We were greeted as we arrived immediately and seated right away. The restaurant was packed with diners. The decor was more modern than our old location, and the seats were comfortable and the tables clean. Our server looked after us well, and I overheard the lady at the table behind us remarking how well she attended to them too. My daughter was famished, having been up for hours traveling and not having had breakfast. She ordered a grilled chicken salad, a small chicken noodle soup, and a side of Mac and cheese. Her first comment was that the Mac and cheese was different - it was better than the one that had been served at the other location. She enjoyed the soup, too, and her salad was heaping. She jokingly asked how to even begin to dig into it. I ordered the steak tips with broccoli and green beans. It was cooked to perfection, and the green beans tasted fresh - like beans grown in your garden and cooked on a summer's day. Even the checkout experience was pleasant with friendly staff. The turkey was delicious; potatoes, corn, green beans, stuffing were all good; the ham was cold and needed warmed, not sure if that was supposed to be- it was a minute in the microwave. The rolls were warm and soft butter included. The pumpkin pie was great and included a small amount of topping. Everything was properly bagged up and waiting at the appropriate time. Parked and called the manager brought it out and off we went. The food was all we could have expected and the service was with a smile and timely. We didn't go in the building so no idea about that. Here for fathers days and it was our turn for the table and told the hostess we needed a high chair and booster seat, she said I can only offer you two booster seats because we can't put a high chair in the isle. I explained my 8mon old can't sit in booster seat and asked for a different table, she said let me ask my manager. They sat people ahead of us and someone came over and said well they requested the round table so it's still a wait and I responded no we just need a high chair. So they went to seat us and said do you want the round or square table....So we waited longer for another tablet and they brought us to one with a high chair and I asked for a booster seat again and she brought me a seat top high chair, my husband politely asked for a booster seat and they exchanged it, so WTF they couldn't offer us the seat top high chair in the first place? Then my two year old was choking on her egg, we got it unstuck which made her vomit all over my husband and we asked for help and were ignored, we couldn't even get a napkin. Total side note I also could get a refill on my coffee until after my meal came, our table was sticky and the bath room floors were sticky.... Every time I have ordered and payed when I go to pick the food up they have either left food out or it has been a hassle for curbside so I have had to go in or wait in the phone for 10-15 minutes and then either go in or wait another 10-15 minutes for my food. If you are in hurry or want the food when they said it is ready you will definitely be disappointed. The last two times we've been to Bob Evens it's been really bad. I can't speak for the food because we never got our food both times. The first time we ordered and sat there for a hour and the food never came but, the server did tell us she for got to put our order in and would be happy to take our order now. This time we were seated at a dirty table so we asked to move and did. The the lady asked if we had been asked for our drink order and I said no but instead of taking it she just walked away. I may be a little biased here because I worked at this location for just over a year between college and the real world... but this Bob Evans is one of the better stores out there. I worked at several "Bob's" during the year as a fill-in server when help was needed and this one is the most efficient of all 4 Bob's in the area (3 in Parkersburg, WV). I would say the only one that compares is the Athens [Ohio] Bob Evans. This Bob Evans is clean and spacious. The servers are hit or miss in terms of personality and work ethic, but that is really no different from any restaurant. This Bob Evans really cares about getting the food out quickly and making sure it is well presented. If something doesn't meet your reasonable expectations, they will do everything they can to make it right. Seriously. Sundays around lunch time are a mad house. Everyone goes here after church (and college kids show up hungover) so expect to wait in line for a while and then to wait on food for a while. That's just the nature of a busy restaurant. Saturdays aren't much better. Avoid these times if you don't like waiting. I love the food here and now that I live in CA, I make it a point to go to this Bob Evans every time I return to my hometown but I accept other Bob's if I'm traveling somewhere else east of the Mississippi. My favorites are the cheddar potato soup, Bob-B-Q chicken salad, mashed potatoes with gravy, celery dressing, Texas toast and the potato crusted flounder. The dinner rolls are heavenly and the ever changing specialty breads are delicious. One would think that working someplace, you would get tired of the food but I still crave it daily. The other servers and I used to joke that we would easily gain 50 pounds a year if we were given more than one lunch break. I think that says something. Tip: If you ever order Carryout, don't forget to tip the server who gathers your food. Before I worked here I never thought of doing that (since I wasn't actually being waited on, but now I think differently) I worked that counter many times (I loved the challenge and chaos of it) and it is far more demanding than waiting tables. Fielding countless phone calls and straining to hear/understand the person on the other end, waiting on the bar/counter customers, making sure every requested condiment makes it into the proper bag, filling containers with salads/sides/drinks/etc. helping the kitchen staff when food isn't making it out quickly... it makes for a busy shift :) read more

My wife an I gave Bob Evans another chance to prove us wrong on our 15-Min wait on 12/10/19 before we left and they failed miserably once again. This time we complained to the Shift Manager prior to leaving. 7pm on 12/23/2019. They were about 50% full with 6 Waiters and Waitresses working the floor. Where we were seated, again tables on either side of us had patrons finishing up and leaving. The Waiter walked by us 4X, cleaning off the tables and collecting his tip in the 15-Min we waited and ignored us though I tried to make eye contact with him at least once. What drove us out was a table of 6, was attended to by a waitress in less than 2-Min. Even if it is not your station, you ask patrons if they have been waited on. I am quite angry, as Bob Evans was my favorite in Marietta before being ignored twice and I normally Tip 20-25% when the Service is Excellent. I have no idea why we have been this unlucky twice in-a-row. Went to IHOP, were we were attended to immediately, before we got our Coats off. Feeling mad at Bob Evans and in a Christmas mood, I tipped the Waiter $20 for a $26 Meal. We will not be returning to this Bob Evans anytime soon. read more

Why do I ever go into a Bob Evans' Restaurant and expect anything but disappointment? About 15-20 minutes after placing my order, the waitress came out to tell me they were out of my selected item. I told her I didn't want anything else, and she immediately returned with my wife's entree. I went to this restaurant on Thanksgiving because they advertised on their marquee they were opened from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. I have eaten at many Bob Evans in the past and one of the things I like is that you can order breakfast at any time. My son and I arrived around 12:30 p.m. It was busy but not completely packed. We were seated right away and handed a set menu which was the first issue. I have never been to a Bob Evans with a set menu. I certainly realize it was Thanksgiving but I was not expecting a set menu. It was 12:30 p.m. which is normally the time to order lunch but my son and I want to order breakfast. Our choice was a slice of turkey or ham with a variety of sides. We were not happy but we were hungry so we ordered off the set menu. Once we started making our selections we were told they were out of rolls and a number of other sides. They were even out of pumpkin pie. They had been open less than five hours and had seven hours to go and they were already out of a number of key items. The service was horrible. It was not because they lacked people. We sat for almost ten minutes before someone took our order. Most of the wait staff was behind the counter involved with conversations with each other or other customers. Our waitress was at the table across from us in a very long conversation with the people she was waiting on. The conversation was of a personal nature and had nothing to do with their meal. Again, I realize it was a holiday but if a business is open for business they should be ready for customers. Our drinks were not kept full and it was not because they were that busy. I would see our waitress chatting with her co-workers instead of checking her tables. At one point I started to get out of our booth to go ask for service when she finally walked up. Another issue ... cost. The final bill for one person was $16.00 for the set menu and a cup of coffee. I thought that was pretty high for ONE person eating at a Bob Evans for lunch. In addition I was not happy that they did not offer a discount since they were out of some of the things we tried to order but had to settle for something else. As I have said a few times ... I realize it was Thanksgiving but I wish they would have told us it was a set menu before they seated us. It also wouldn't have hurt to review what they were out of before showing us to our table. The service could have been a lot better. Considering my experience at other Bob Evans I was very disappointed with this location. In my opinion all the issues were due to poor management. This restaurant is located in a very small town that had very limited options in the way of open restaurants on Thanksgiving during the day.
