    a variety of donuts

Let's call this place McCrappy's..... Stopped by this place on our way back home for a sweet treat. The cashier was very friendly and did a great job explaining the prices, assortment, ect... Our Family Favorite donuts are cream filled longjohns peanut butter cream filled longjohns and glazed. We asked the cashier which ones were cream filled and purchased our 2 dozen for the road. (note they are all supposed to be cream filled!!!!! If you like dinner rolls with a dab of icing on top that's about what you'll get with these donuts Highly disappointed. The one with chocolate icing, the coconut, and maple are all supposed to be cream filled. You can almost see a hint of chocolate cream filling if you look close. The coconut only had a Dab of icing on top, and the maple , well that had the most filling. I recommend Beullers Grocery/Bakery in Coshocton, Ohio Darrell's or Donald's in Zanesville, Ohio or just about any other place than this one. Maybe we've been spoiled with the amount of cream filling in other donuts, but there was none in these. I don't even know if I could give these away. I'm sure gonna try. I'll include some pictures for reference.

I liked that McHappys offered a variety of donuts to try. We had lots of questions about which were which since they were not labeled. We ended up trying 6 different donuts. I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll donut & chocolate cake donut. I wouldn't say there was anything amazing about this place but the donuts were delicious!! I've heard positive things about their muffins as well. No donut holes which we were really in the mood for!

So disappointed in my McHappys experience. Stale donuts and mixed up drive thru order.

Donuts are tastey and the shop is quaint. Better than the other options in the area.

Since it had been…read morequite some time, and because most of the recent reviews have been so positive, I decided to give it another try. I live out of state and met my son there for brunch, and I'm so glad we did. I really appreciated that the menu offers half-size portions of some of the platters, which is perfect for someone like me who doesn't have a huge appetite. I ordered the half-size Kitchen Sink skillet. There was a small upcharge for that particular skillet, but it was absolutely worth it. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and this restaurant has definitely earned a spot among my favorite breakfast and brunch places in the area. Parking is plentiful, which is always a plus. The inside of the restaurant, although cozy, is a bit of a tight squeeze, though, and they seem especially busy on weekends. I'd recommend arriving early or being prepared for a wait.

The biscuits which I thought would be great cause it's a scratch kitchen were warm and huge but flavorless and really dense. The coffee was good. The omelette was good but the middle was wet cause too much cheese but it tasted good. The hashbrowns were flavorless and the home fries were burnt on one side and under cooked on the other. The vibe is cute.

Expensive ($16 for toast with cheese and mushrooms) and underwhelming but not bad by any means, and $9 for a bagel with egg and cheese. We got the caprini toast and it didn't have the micro greens as it says on the menu, but no biggie. The bagel with egg and cheese was very bland, and it is a square of scrambled egg, not a fried egg. The baked goods were fantastic! The sticky date cake is crazy good! It weighs a million pounds and is so thick and just the perfect texture. We also got the lemon yogurt cookie which was soft and tangy, 10/10. They have a cool little retail space for various alcohols, non-alcoholic beverages, food, tea etc. I was happy to buy some local loose leaf tea, and there were a ton to choose from! Service was fine. The person who took our order was friendly, the food took a lot longer than expected but we had time to kill so it didn't bother us. I'd go back if I visit Athens again, I'd love to try the soup!
