My girlfriend and I thought we would try this place again for Sunday evening dinner cause we were in the mood for breakfast food. Service was absolutely horrendus and the environment was not professional at all with some girl at the front screaming at the person at the grill. Server was terrible. Took forever to get our waters and to get our order taken. I ordered the Farmers Choice, but it wasnt that great at all. The bacon was so burnt and hard as a rock, felt like i was eating potato chips. I asked for 4 eggs and the server gave me 2 but eggs looked like someone grabbed them with their hand and just slapped it down on my plate. Meal was suppose to come with toast and didnt even get toast with it. Homefries were so burnt they were barely edible to even eat. Server never really checked on us and refilled our waters. Not a great Sunday evening meal and probably wont be back unless they get new servers. read more

Ordered steak tips with mashed potatoes and broccoli to go, and the amount of food was pitiful. It looked like a kids meal, or like half of it had already been eaten. There were 5 bits of steak and a single piece of broccoli. If we had been dining in i would have sent it back. Unfortunately I didn't look at the food until after I had gotten back home. This was my first time ever eating at a Bob Evans, and honestly, I'm not sure what I expected--but whatever it was, this wasn't it. The best way to describe it would be a Denny's knockoff, though I'd much rather go to Denny's than ever come back here. I ordered something called "The Whole Hog", and the server had me read off each item it came with so she could write it down--then mentioned she was new. Fair enough, but things went downhill from there. The food was just meh. The biscuits were so hard I thought I might break a tooth, the hashbrowns were soggy and swimming in grease, and the bacon tasted like it had been cooked, then recooked... several times. My review is based on two visits to Bob Evans in 2 locations ( Cross lanes West Virginia & Pikeville Kentucky ) After driving by likely dozens of Bob Evans locations through many states over many years we figured it was time to give it a try. Both visits we got the Double cheese pot roast sandwich with a side of Mac & cheese & the Classic breakfast. The Sandwich was quite good but the Mac & Cheese was basically flavorless & small portioned while the Classic breakfast was fine but nothing special. The service we recieved was adequate but overall we expected better. The prices are very reasonable ( 2 meals, 2 drinks ) for $ 24 44. read more

My mother who has the flu and hadn't eaten for a day picked up curbside from the restaurant. She informed the woman (come to find out later the manager) that brought her food out not to get too close because she was sick. The manager then proceeds to give my mother attitude because "she has kids" and wouldn't hand my mother the food for a few minutes. when she finally did and started walking back inside, she goes "next time stay your ass at home." Meanwhile my mother didn't have to tell her, she was doing her a favor. She also could have just gone into the store to pick it up without regards for who she got sick. So this rude individual cursed at my mother who is extremely sick and hadn't eaten for trying to be considerate. She then proceeds to deny everything later on when I called. To top it all off, the food was cold and hard, and she did not get the apple pie she paid an extra dollar for her. And this is in addition to the numerous times we've picked up at this restaurant and had food items left out that we ordered. HORRIBLE service overall. read more

Bob Evans is one of the few chains that I wish were closer to me. I'm pretty sure they are not west of the Mississippi. I met a bunch of family and friends for lunch and as I often do I ordered breakfast for lunch. I had the basic eggs, potatoes, sausage and bread. That is probably why I like the chain. They do a good job on the basics. I should add that for basic diner grub (eggs, potatoes, sausage, bread and coffee) they are not cheap. Think around $10 for this. This location handled our group well. They had to rearrange quickly to accommodate our group of 12-15 people. The manager Eddie H checked on us regularly and our server was very attentive. read more

We celebrated my birthday at Bob Evans last night. It was a very enjoyable gathering. We were able to relax and enjoy our meal and easily hear each other talking around the table. The waitress was very attentive and all our orders were correct. The food was delicious! Very fresh tasting and not like it had set out for hours. The rolls were soft and hot. Yum! I got the everything breakfast, which really is everything in one plate of food. It is so flavorful and will definitely fill you up. Several others got salads, they were huge and packed full of chicken. And At the end I was surprised with a Happy Birthday song from the waitresses and a dessert they had made for me with a smiley face made from Reese cups. :) Overall, it was a great night and we will be planning more family get togethers here. We stopped coming here because of the extremely poor service. Our visit today was a complete turnaround. Three of us visited for breakfast where we were warmly greeted by the hostess who escorted us to our table. Emily, our server, soon arrived to provide us with menus and take our beverage orders. Throughout our stay we found her to be pleasant, professional, and efficient. She checked in on us several times to see if there was anything else we needed. Our pancakes, ham and cheese omlet, and Eggs Benedict were all very good, though the presentation of the Eggs Benedict weren't especially visually appealing. Instead of poached eggs, they used fried eggs covered with a runny sauce, yet still quite tasty. We were pleased with our overall experience and we will likely return to see if the change in service is permanent. read more

With all Bob E restaurants back home CLOSED we were glad to find this one. On our way to a Conference in Indiana, we needed decent food and got it here. The place was OUT of BUTTER; did have "spread", but that's still toxic. Otherwise, our meal was good, even if the pleasant waitress is very untrained. We saw why the waitress is untrained - - the manager on duty was untrained. Still worth stopping there; their attitude is very pleasant and helpful! read more

I don't really eat at Bob Evans very often. Reason being we don't really have them in New York. To me Bob Evans is an upscale Dennys. At this particular location the food was great. Came in for breakfast around 10 am. They were fairly empty. We were sat promptly. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I ended up ordering 3 scrambled eggs with bacon. The person I was with ordered a omelette with fruit. Both were very good. I had 2 cups of tea. This location had twinings tea. (Better than Lipton). They also have there own coffee here. Our waitress was so nice they she even poured a to go cup for the person that I was with. Overall this bob Evans was very nice for breakfast the food was cooked good. This place used to be really good, but for the past few years service has really gone downhill. Long wait times, even when it's not busy, servers who either seem pre-occupied or would rather be elsewhere, and several times we have placed pick-up orders and arrived to find that the front desk clerk had lost our order and had to place it all over again (which meant waiting longer for them to cook our food). At least the food is still good, but not good enough to deal with all of the other issues. It's also getting more expensive and not worth the bother. read more

We stopped here for breakfast after staying at the Mardis Gras for one night. We went to the Cracker barrel in Nitro first, but walked out due to poor (no) service. This place was great. A friend and I were travelling together on May 28th, and had breakfast at this restaurant. I had an omlette with hash browns. We waited 45 minutes for our food, and it was served stone cold! I eat at Bob Evans about 4-5 times per year. Although it's never an A+ experience, today's was much worse. My major areas of complain are as follows: 1. We were never offered drink refills. 2. We each had hash brown potatoes. The portion size was about half of what it should have been, and has always been. When mentioned to the waitress, she never made an offer to get us more. 3. The sausage gravy was so thick and tasteless, I would swear it was what was left over from the night before. Seeing as how we ate pretty early this morning (8am), I could see them finishing what was left over before putting out the new. All in all a terrible experience. read more

I will start by saying the food was quite good here. I have not been to Bob Evans in a number of years and was pleasantly surprised. That being said, I have to mention the restaurant was not very clean. You could tell the table was not wiped well and all the laminated menus and pie menus felt grimy. This place is dead cause it really sucks! No steak for Mark and took extra 15 minutes for pot pie, never got offered any bread his potato soup still hasn't came out! The food was good enough, if a bit scanty, given the price. And our server was nice enough. But it must have been an off day in the kitchen because it took a very long time for our food to come out. Not as long as it took for the table next to us, though (over 40 minutes for them). Our server took the last meal to come out off our bill. I waited at the door with my 3 year old for about 3 minutes with several people walking by until I finally got sat (they were not busy). I ordered water with lemon and got cheese in my drink with my lemon. Apparently my 3 year old is not considered a person as we were only given one set of silverware; luckily I didn't need my spoon so he took it to eat his Mac-n-cheese. My waitress, Toni, did not come to my table, her only table at the time, within the 2 minute window she is supposed to to check on my liking of my dinner. I had to ask for my rolls that are supposed to come with my dinner. Afterwards, we got an apple pie a la mode and the pie was cold and ice cream was separate so I think I was charged separately for the ice cream and pie which is more expensive. I used to work at a different Bob's for 3 and half years and know how things are supposed to be done and I was not impressed with my dinner service.
