Went there for the first time this past Saturday night. The food is really good. We got bacon ranch quesadillas, 1/2 rack of ribs, and hot wings. We really enjoyed the food...it is cash only, but def worth it. Prices are pretty reasonable too considering it's only cash. We spent 30 dollars and it was a lot of food. My only reason for not giving the full 5 stars is because we waited about 25 minutes...but it was also a Saturday around prime dinner time. My first impression of the restaurant was so good that I had to go back the next day. I tried their chicken, ribs, wings, mac & cheese, cream of spinach, and everything was delicious. Went here for the first time tonight. The food was outrageous. We had the half chicken (massive), with flavorful creamed spinach, portobello crisps (incredible), macaroni and cheese with bacon and cheddar (tremendous portion), cole slaw (excellent), corn muffins, and brisket. I found a new place to order from when I don't feel like cooking. Which is often. My only gripe is that they are a cash only place. For what you spend, that's a lot of cash to be carrying around. First of all, what restaurant or take out doesn't take credit cards?? Cash only...super inconvenient...I went in and ordered two orders of brisket. I am on the keto diet so sauce and sides aren't an option ...My bill was 19.00 and when I went to pick up the two orders, there was zero weight to them. When you go to a bbq restaurant you think lots of meat...over stuffed sandwiches etc...When I got home I look at what they gave me....5 thin slices of brisket in each container...Maybe an ounce or 2 max for 19.00!!???? It wasnt even tasty...very dry and fatty. I get brisket from Holy Smoke which is only 5 minutes away and they give a HUGE portion and it is moist and delicious...Bob-B-Q is a complete ripoff and I will never go there again..Everyone go to Holy Smoke and skip this joke of a bbq place...no comparison!!! read more

The food is very good and well prepared. We usually order the baby back ribs and a few sides. The sweet potatoes and cornbread are awesome. There's a few tables to sit but it's mostly takeout. On Aug. 11th, my wife and tried to order and placed several calls beginning at 7:20p; the line was busy for approximately 15 minutes. I walked in at 7:35p and was told they were closed, they accept the last order at 7:30p. This place must be the best hidden gem in Shrub Oak to turn down orders at 7:35p. My first time for my wife a day I. I had a pulled pork sandwich that was absolutely amazing and my wife had a California Burger that she was more than happy with it as well. Sweet potatoes with marshmallow definitely something to try and the mac and cheese is extra cheesy an extra good. Cornbread cooked to Perfection and goes with everything. Ordered food for my family and everything was really good. Everything BUT the portobello chips! Stay AWAY!!!! They are fried mushroom bites. Sounds good, and they were! Unfortunately I got massive food poisoning about and hour later. While eating them I felt they were undercooked and was wary and it was my mistake to continue eating them. I'm not sure if that was the cause or if it was that they were not fresh or if I just simply got a bad batch. In any case I Just wanted to put caution into the wind to steer clear of those. Tried their takeout recently. Rib portion was very small and the chicken was only two pieces. The sides were ok and the cornbread very tiny. Their newer menu eliminates the family meals so we had to order everything separately. All in all, the food was tasty, portions were a bit on the small side, and the tab was a bit expensive. With all the available items on the menu, we'll have to give it another try. However, for the money, I think Holy Smoke has larger sized portions. read more

Was there yesterday, the food was excellent. I had the pulled pork quesadillas. My oldest had the pulled pork bowl and my youngest wings. We all loved it. CASH ONLY. Will try again and follow up. This place is still open since the last time I went here, so I decided to try my luck again. What this place might be - Boston Market clone, WingStop wannabbe or a local sandwich shop. What this place isn't - a BBQ place. Only 3 menu items brisket, st louis ribs (not babybacks) and pulled pork claim to have been smoked. I dont know where the smoker in this joint is but you can't smell it in the store or taste it in the "smoked" meat trifecta. Brisket sandwich was soggy and the wings were overcooked. Worth the detour as others on here have written. A real homemade feel. The sides, I'd say, are "Thanksgiving table" ready! I wouldn't consider this to be on a fast food list. The effort and energy put into this menu is shown in the taste but not the prices. read more

Love this place but tonight I had a not-so-pleasant experience. Arrived there at around 6 pm , there was one girl working, phones ringing off the hook, etc. my boyfriend and I then begin to place our order. She was a bit short with us but we were understanding, seeing that she clearly had her hands full. After waiting for about 10/-5 minutes we decided to take a seat. We waiting longer watching people come in and walk out with their food before us (mostly call ins) finally after 30-40 minutes later we got our food. Paid for it, left a tip and then remembered to ask for extra blue cheese. The girl working seemed very annoyed and told me it was an extra $.75 which is not a big deal but I felt like it could have been compensated since we waited for a very long time and now our food is cold. Great burgers and out of this world dry rub slab of ribs.. they only take cash but well worth the trip to the ATM to get grub from this place its a small place and is usually used to o pick up food and eat it in the comfort of your own home and some while driving home because the smell will drive you insane. but there are some chairs inside and outside during the nice weather. sides are so enticing through the glass as your ordering your food but your eyes are definitely bigger than your stomach because your not gonna have enough room once your done eating your meal.. but it still worth getting it and eating it once you wake from your food coma.. loyal customer!! read more

Kristen is such a rude person. I saw an interaction with her and another customer. The customer was explaining how they didn't get enough sauce on their wings. Instead of sympathizing, she started denying that claim. Then she shoved the extra sauce into their hands. She then started arguing with the customer when they just wanted a refund. I went here because I was in the mood for some baby back ribs and some comfort food on the side. I left disappointed. The baby back ribs were very tough and did not have a lot of meat on them at all. The sauce was pretty good, but that was the only positive. I will say that the cornbread and cornbread stuffing was pretty good. The service however was not very good. I came to Bob's this week for dinner and was excited to try it because they're aren't to many decent BBQ places in the area. My husband had the half roast chicken + mashed potatoes and I did the pulled pork with the works + mac and cheese. We both enjoyed our meals and found the portions to be extremely generous for the price. What knocked a star off for me was the pulled pork could have used just a bit more sauce - it was good but a bit dry. Also I would recommend you do take out here and not dine in.
