One of the weirdest diners I have ever been to. When you walk in it's your typical seat yourself at the bar table or tables with a diner looking theme. Then behind that there's a restaurant more looking place with a very small salad bar. But then to the back of that there's a very nice looking and huge bar/lounge/restaurant area. And then even behind that there's a HUGE banquet area and then even behind that there's a small patio! The weirdest thing I've ever seen! I can only speak to the diner because that's where I ate. The menu is super large like any diners with your typical diner food. The quality of the food was average to poor, nothing good or bad to say about it very bland. Simple diner with good food and a rustic, vineyard atmosphere on the inside. Nothing too special on the menu but they do have a wide selection. I got the club sandwich, and it was exceptional. The shaved ham was tender, and the fries I got on the side were VERY crispy, the perfect amount for battered french fries. Reasonable prices as well. Not sure what got this place a 3 star overall rating, but it is a pretty good place to grab a bite for lunch. read more

I got a surprisingly good breakfast here! I had to go back to the winery across the street so we stopped here for some breakfast. I got an omelet well done. I got breakfast potatoes (my only complaint is-there were not enough!) I got cinnamon swirl grilled toast. Sooo good and the icing had an almond flavor to it which I loved. I got sausage patties too. Those were not good even doused in IMITATION maple syrup. The service was great. And the coffee was good and kept topped off. I really enjoyed this place. Come here for breakfast!!! read more

I really enjoyed the throw back retro feel, even if some things are a bit out of date. Things looked clean, including the bathroom. The staff were so nice. Service was quick. I really enjoyed the delicious French fries and gravy. The chicken breast sandwich was also pretty good. The bun was soft, the tomato and lettuce were fresh, and the dollop of mayo on the side was generous. I would have liked a few more fries. The waitress looks mad when we walked in. Didn't smile or greet. But she was very considerate and helpful! We ordered one kid's meal for my two little ones to share, she split everything for them! That's so awesome!!! I don't have to worry about splitting equally or dealing with them who gets more or not. One thing that was weird was that me and my friend ordered the same dish, calamari salad. His salad has onions and mine doesn't. His calamari were all in the center and mine were all spread out. Almost thought we had different dishes. The men's room was out of order the day we went. So people were taking turn to use the ladies' room. It was just so inconvenient to have a man walk in while you are using the bathroom, or seeing one when you walk in there. During a Fall Drive we came to Naples, NY. Bob & Ruth's Vineyard is the town busy family run spot . When one comes in it seems like an old fashioned little Diner. A large serpentine counter area and booths. The place is huge! What I thought was a mirror wall, actually is another dinning area adjacent to this entrance one. Behind this Diner like area is another large Bar and room with a huge round table. A family was having dinner at it. And Vineyard's Restaurant behind this area is a more of a Restaurant like setting very large room. We came for Grape Pie and drinks(Hot Chocolate & Hot Tea). My other friend had Chicken Fingers with Fries and milk. The Grape Pie was good, light crust. It was our first taste of it and we liked it. The Chicken Fingers were lightly breaded and crisp. French Fries were golden. Their menu has a large selection. The server, an elderly woman, was very nice. read more

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We had good breakfast that was typical by diner standards but above the average. The adjacent park with shade, picnic tables, and ample space makes it good for families during the warmer months. Passed through town during a little Finger Lake outing. Truth be told, I wanted to go to the place across the street, but it was closed---and we were hungry! I chose one of the specials, chicken and mashed potatoes, and my daughter had fries and a hot dog. Upon receiving my lunch, I felt for sure my mom was back there cooking! If I went home for a visit this is very likely something that could have come from her kitchen. And that's why I like this place! Now my mom, is not a fabulous nor gourmet cook. But she's my mom, and I like what she cooks because she is my mom. My chicken, was crispy roasted/broiled a little over cooked maybe, definitely could have used some seasoning. It was enjoyable nonetheless, and I even packed up the leftovers. The mashed potatoes, clearly the instant variety (also a mom fav) were so good--for what they were, if that makes and sense. I wouldn't make instant mashed potatoes at home---but I don't mind them. My daughters hot dog was a zweigle of course so can't go wrong with a diner grilled zweigle---accompanying fries were crispy and hot. We split (the last piece) of carrot cake and it was diner-y good. I must say I was tempted after seeing the tapioca pudding at the next table, also something I enjoy but never make at home. Clearly this place has a following, almost everyone in there where "regulars" known to the staff, and I always think that's pretty cool. If I ever found my way here again, I'd stop in, and I bet they do a great breakfast, just a hunch---it's "that" kind of place. read more

This place is very mediocre. Very standard diner fare. It has your typical breakfast scrambles, toast, etc. Same with lunch and dinner. Chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, fries and the like. I came here with a group of friends last week. I liked the wait staff, the salad bar, and the atmosphere. The seats were comfortable, and no one I was dining with complained about their meal. I had the turkey dinner, which was clearly heated up per order.. I don't know if I believe that they even cooked the turkey at the restaurant, or just bought some kind of prepackaged sara-lee turkey and sliced it, it might have been just a boxed turkey dinner that they plated. The stuffing was cold and flavorless, as was basically the entire meal. The cranberry sauce clearly from the can. My wife got the chicken tender meal, which was obviously Wegmans brand chicken fingers that were baked, definitely not something that was breaded there. We haven't been to Bob and Ruth's in a very long time. We stopped today for lunch, and will never return. The chicken special tasted like it had been microwaved to heat it up, and the vegetables were right out of a can. My husband also had a "bowl" of lentil soup which wouldn't have filled a cup. I had a turkey sandwich for $8 which consisted of two slices of oven roasted turkey and one piece of lettuce. The coleslaw was fair. Both of us had ice water. $32 totally wasted. Decided to stop here for lunch after exploring the town a little bit. Waited forever just to place an order. I ordered a HOT Turkey sandwich and it came out stone cold. We ordered outside which meant the kitchen was 10 steps from the window, so there's no excuse as to why it should even be cold to begin with. I told the guy that my sandwich was cold and he blamed it on the cold weather he then said "what am I supposed to do about it being cold?" He ripped the food out of our hands and slammed it into the microwave. The food was on a styrofoam plate. The food came back out and the plate was melted. WARNING: $2 charge for 'coffee to go'....after also paying for coffee while eating there! Well, after MANY Sat/Sun morning sit downs here while working in the area for 3+ months, I was finally turned OFF by the service here & will NEVER return. 1st off I had switched up my usual from the omelettes to french toast/eggs/bacon plates.....loved the french toast but the bacon strips are pathetic & 2 bites at best, so the bacon receives a fat "F", the french toast is great, eggs are fresh. After many breakfast trips here getting some coffee to go AFTER paying for coffee while eating here, & without notifying me, they added $2 onto my check when I asked for some coffee to go, I even had my own plastic to go cup which they had been filling half way for me every weekend in the past. The lady handed me a small styrofoam cup of coffee, as in for $2 they couldn't just fill up my cup I brought in? When I questioned the $2 charge, the old guy who seems to be the owner said "that's cheap"......I just shook my head & said "WOW". Terrible way to treat a weekend regular who was tipping good. They are lucky I left any tip, in reality I should've left $0.00 to cover the RIP OFF 2nd coffee charge.....as I had already paid for coffee while eating, which is not limited to any amount that I was made aware of. This is unreal to me as I've ate at cafes & diners all over the country & NEVER been charged for coffee to go after paying for the sit down coffee! My husband and I decided to try this place, as we have lived in Naples since October last year and passed it frequently. We were extremely disappointed. My husband had prime rib that tasted bland and had a salad with French dressing that tasted less flavorful. I had a Greek salad with chicken and a side of macaroni salad (which tasted like elbow pasta with nothing on it). When I ordered, the waitress was like, "You seriously are going to eat that?" I'm 8 months pregnant, I felt insulted that she told me I was eating too much or what I ordered was "weird." After, we gave their ice cream a chance. My husband got a chocolate milkshake that was clearly butterscotch and our waitress came back and asked how his chocolate milkshake tasted.
