I am shocked this place doesn't have 5 stars- this place is iconic- the food is incredible, the staff is so kind and the atmosphere is warm/small town family vibes. After dinner I took a whole grape pie to go- will definitely be back here next time I'm in town! read more

Bob & Ruth's Vineyard Restaurant - American Near Me - Naples, New York

One of the weirdest diners I have ever been to. When you walk in it's your typical seat yourself at the bar table or tables with a diner looking theme. Then behind that there's a restaurant more looking place with a very small salad bar. But then to the back of that there's a very nice looking and huge bar/lounge/restaurant area. And then even behind that there's a HUGE banquet area and then even behind that there's a small patio! The weirdest thing I've ever seen! I can only speak to the diner because that's where I ate. The menu is super large like any diners with your typical diner food. The quality of the food was average to poor, nothing good or bad to say about it very bland. The service was good a nice waitress and pretty quick. If you're in the area it's alright to visit. read more

My family, including our dog, dropped in for breakfast. We didn't have a reservation but that wasn't a problem. We were able to sit outside in the park with our dog. The service was fantastic! They were quick. Even, though we were sitting outside we were give all the condiment! We had a fantastic breakfast! All staff were friendly and helpful! Look forward to coming again! read more

Simple diner with good food and a rustic, vineyard atmosphere on the inside. Nothing too special on the menu but they do have a wide selection. I got the club sandwich, and it was exceptional. The shaved ham was tender, and the fries I got on the side were VERY crispy, the perfect amount for battered french fries. Reasonable prices as well. Not sure what got this place a 3 star overall rating, but it is a pretty good place to grab a bite for lunch. read more

This is a great little place in a small town. Very homey feel and I've been there many times The food was delicious each time. Some of the poor reviews on here are truly ridiculous. I'd urge you to read beyond the things that don't matter or weren't explained and give it a try. It's a little gem! read more

I got a surprisingly good breakfast here! I had to go back to the winery across the street so we stopped here for some breakfast. I got an omelet well done. I got breakfast potatoes (my only complaint is-there were not enough!) I got cinnamon swirl grilled toast. Sooo good and the icing had an almond flavor to it which I loved. I got sausage patties too. Those were not good even doused in IMITATION maple syrup. The service was great. And the coffee was good and kept topped off. I really enjoyed this place. Come here for breakfast!!! read more

I really enjoyed the throw back retro feel, even if some things are a bit out of date. Things looked clean, including the bathroom. The staff were so nice. Service was quick. I really enjoyed the delicious French fries and gravy. The chicken breast sandwich was also pretty good. The bun was soft, the tomato and lettuce were fresh, and the dollop of mayo on the side was generous. I would have liked a few more fries. The chicken wasn't dry but could have had just a little more flavor. Prices were good. read more

Stopped for a piece of grape pie. Got burgers too. Delicious. Burgers are hand made, soft bun not like you get at a fast food place. Prices are very reasonable. You'd pay more at a fast food restaurant and not have a pie. Great service. read more

The waitress looks mad when we walked in. Didn't smile or greet. But she was very considerate and helpful! We ordered one kid's meal for my two little ones to share, she split everything for them! That's so awesome!!! I don't have to worry about splitting equally or dealing with them who gets more or not. One thing that was weird was that me and my friend ordered the same dish, calamari salad. His salad has onions and mine doesn't. His calamari were all in the center and mine were all spread out. Almost thought we had different dishes. The men's room was out of order the day we went. So people were taking turn to use the ladies' room. It was just so inconvenient to have a man walk in while you are using the bathroom, or seeing one when you walk in there. Wish they have a better arrangement somehow. read more

I give this place a decent amount of stars b/c they make a fast and inexpensive breakfast......And provide a bathroom for those of us with a camp near by. They are EXTREMELY outdated otherwise. This place could be great if the owners would sink some money into a renovation. ***Please note I have never had lunch or dinner here. read more

Stopped by after a nice afternoon with some friends at Grimes Glen. The service was quick and Ruth was very sweet. Food was good and the vibe was very enjoyable. Will definitely be back if I'm in town. read more

We had a beautiful day of wine tasting and wanted to try their pie. (HUGE GRAPE PIE) sign. They were so rude and unwelcoming, it was a awful. We bought the pie, it was just ok, but it was clear they did not want us their... just terrible service!!! Rude people!!!! Shame! read more

Glad to see this local business up and running. Stopped in for a late afternoon tuna melt and onion rings. Quality of food was exceptional, more value than expected and service outstanding. During a Fall Drive we came to Naples, NY. Bob & Ruth's Vineyard is the town busy family run spot . When one comes in it seems like an old fashioned little Diner. A large serpentine counter area and booths. The place is huge! What I thought was a mirror wall, actually is another dinning area adjacent to this entrance one. Behind this Diner like area is another large Bar and room with a huge round table. A family was having dinner at it. And Vineyard's Restaurant behind this area is a more of a Restaurant like setting very large room. We came for Grape Pie and drinks(Hot Chocolate & Hot Tea). My other friend had Chicken Fingers with Fries and milk. The Grape Pie was good, light crust. It was our first taste of it and we liked it. The Chicken Fingers were lightly breaded and crisp. French Fries were golden. Their menu has a large selection. The server, an elderly woman, was very nice. read more

Came in for an early dinner, greeted right away. I was solo for this meal so I ate in a small booth next to the counter, the server was very helpful and attentive. The clam chowder was great 4stars The open faced Rueben was alright 3 stars nothing spectacular but definitely not bad The all star of the show was the grape pie with vanilla soft served on top for dessert 5 stars Yes I'm a fatty and ate it all, if you are in the area you probably already know about this place but if you are just strolling by stop on in and give them a try I was not disappointed and I don't think you will be either. read more

Love the convince of this place, its fast and cheap! Service is friendly and caring. My phone was dead and they offered to charge it, home town feel! read more

Stayed just a little ways up the road in Naples, and this was a staple for breakfast every morning. The food was really good, and they were always attentive to whatever we needed. I rate the coffee a 7 out of 10, but everything we had, including the French toast was great. read more

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We had good breakfast that was typical by diner standards but above the average. The adjacent park with shade, picnic tables, and ample space makes it good for families during the warmer months. Lunch menu includes cold and warm sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken etc. We had our dog with us so did not eat inside. read more

Stodgy little greasy spoon running on the nostalgia of a bygone era. Food is predictably bland cafeteria style slop warmed from frozen bags and boxes. Roast beef doubles as pastrami on different bread. Naples has way better offerings but it works in a pinch read more

when we first walked in the first thing I noticed was the smell..... it was not an aroma of food cooking....it was a foul smell. We were greeted by a waitress who seemed like we were an inconvenience to show up...still we hung in there... food was delivered and was not of the quality we were used to from this restaurant ....then to top it off our bill was adjusted at the register by + $7 with no explanation other than she must have made a mistake....we will never be back!!! read more

Passed through town during a little Finger Lake outing. Truth be told, I wanted to go to the place across the street, but it was closed---and we were hungry! I chose one of the specials, chicken and mashed potatoes, and my daughter had fries and a hot dog. Upon receiving my lunch, I felt for sure my mom was back there cooking! If I went home for a visit this is very likely something that could have come from her kitchen. And that's why I like this place! Now my mom, is not a fabulous nor gourmet cook. But she's my mom, and I like what she cooks because she is my mom. My chicken, was crispy roasted/broiled a little over cooked maybe, definitely could have used some seasoning. It was enjoyable nonetheless, and I even packed up the leftovers. The mashed potatoes, clearly the instant variety (also a mom fav) were so good--for what they were, if that makes and sense. I wouldn't make instant mashed potatoes at home---but I don't mind them. My daughters hot dog was a zweigle of course so can't go wrong with a diner grilled zweigle---accompanying fries were crispy and hot. We split (the last piece) of carrot cake and it was diner-y good. I must say I was tempted after seeing the tapioca pudding at the next table, also something I enjoy but never make at home. Clearly this place has a following, almost everyone in there where "regulars" known to the staff, and I always think that's pretty cool. If I ever found my way here again, I'd stop in, and I bet they do a great breakfast, just a hunch---it's "that" kind of place. read more

This place is very mediocre. Very standard diner fare. It has your typical breakfast scrambles, toast, etc. Same with lunch and dinner. Chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, fries and the like. The frozen yogurt/to go part on the outside is definitely the best part. You can get a cone at a good size for $2-3. read more

I understand that this a cherished local establishment, which I normally gravitate to. So, it pains me to give such a low review. Wondering if this place hasn't changed hands. We arrived on a quiet Friday night and the place was dead; should have been a clue. I ordered the turkey dinner. It tasted like standard cafeteria food. The turkey was not oven roasted, but looked like it was from a pre-cooked roll. The salad was underdressed. Sides were pasty. Even the cranberry sauce had an odd flavor. Nothin' to get me to come back here (although the back banquet room had a spectacular view.) read more

I came here with a group of friends last week. I liked the wait staff, the salad bar, and the atmosphere. The seats were comfortable, and no one I was dining with complained about their meal. I had the turkey dinner, which was clearly heated up per order.. I don't know if I believe that they even cooked the turkey at the restaurant, or just bought some kind of prepackaged sara-lee turkey and sliced it, it might have been just a boxed turkey dinner that they plated. The stuffing was cold and flavorless, as was basically the entire meal. The cranberry sauce clearly from the can. My wife got the chicken tender meal, which was obviously Wegmans brand chicken fingers that were baked, definitely not something that was breaded there. The fries were good, and I think the steak was properly prepared. Rarely do I see a DIY salad bar anymore, so that was a really nice option. read more

The worst place I have ever eaten ! Got yelled by the owner, said seat yourself on the sign but she told us to not sit down at the table we were heading to,Odd it was a clean table. Our waitress forgot numerous idea we order. When are food came out none of it was hot, not even warm. The food was the worst thing I have ever eaten, worst than the cafeteria food from high school. The atmosphere was so out dated it was comical. read more

We haven't been to Bob and Ruth's in a very long time. We stopped today for lunch, and will never return. The chicken special tasted like it had been microwaved to heat it up, and the vegetables were right out of a can. My husband also had a "bowl" of lentil soup which wouldn't have filled a cup. I had a turkey sandwich for $8 which consisted of two slices of oven roasted turkey and one piece of lettuce. The coleslaw was fair. Both of us had ice water. $32 totally wasted. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Stopped for ice cream after an awesome afternoon at Grimes Glen. Yuck. 5 flavors, ice cream was grainy as if it had been refrozen several times. Stale cones. Very very expensive. And there were signs all over the parking lot stating you would be towed if you weren't their customer or overstayed. I get 1 or 2, but we counted 9! Not at all welcoming. read more

Me and my boyfriend have never been in this area before and we figured we would give it a try! Really good, not very many vegetarian options so I just stuck with the grilled cheese. My boyfriend got the fish sandwich and loved it! Would come here again. read more

Great inexpensive breakfast spot! Old school charm diner with friendly staff. I enjoyed a homemade biscuit with sausage patties while my husband had a ham, cheese, & peppers omelette. The omelette came with breakfast potatoes and toast. Everything was served hot and tasted great. You will not find anything fancy or gourmet here, so if Avocado Toast is your scene then I would try somewhere else. read more

Decided to stop here for lunch after exploring the town a little bit. Waited forever just to place an order. I ordered a HOT Turkey sandwich and it came out stone cold. We ordered outside which meant the kitchen was 10 steps from the window, so there's no excuse as to why it should even be cold to begin with. I told the guy that my sandwich was cold and he blamed it on the cold weather he then said "what am I supposed to do about it being cold?" He ripped the food out of our hands and slammed it into the microwave. The food was on a styrofoam plate. The food came back out and the plate was melted. The employees were plain rude and the cooks were in the kitchen swearing and arguing the whole time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! read more

Plane jane nothing tasy just some stuff on a plate. Turkey was bland, gravy tasteless, dressing also tasteless.

WARNING: $2 charge for 'coffee to go'....after also paying for coffee while eating there! Well, after MANY Sat/Sun morning sit downs here while working in the area for 3+ months, I was finally turned OFF by the service here & will NEVER return. 1st off I had switched up my usual from the omelettes to french toast/eggs/bacon plates.....loved the french toast but the bacon strips are pathetic & 2 bites at best, so the bacon receives a fat "F", the french toast is great, eggs are fresh. After many breakfast trips here getting some coffee to go AFTER paying for coffee while eating here, & without notifying me, they added $2 onto my check when I asked for some coffee to go, I even had my own plastic to go cup which they had been filling half way for me every weekend in the past. The lady handed me a small styrofoam cup of coffee, as in for $2 they couldn't just fill up my cup I brought in? When I questioned the $2 charge, the old guy who seems to be the owner said "that's cheap"......I just shook my head & said "WOW". Terrible way to treat a weekend regular who was tipping good. They are lucky I left any tip, in reality I should've left $0.00 to cover the RIP OFF 2nd coffee charge.....as I had already paid for coffee while eating, which is not limited to any amount that I was made aware of. This is unreal to me as I've ate at cafes & diners all over the country & NEVER been charged for coffee to go after paying for the sit down coffee! FYI....the lady who works on Saturdays is much better than the 2 that work on Sunday. read more

The food was not good! Don't waste your time and money. There were 6 of us and the only meal that was good was a salad. The roll of one sandwich was stale. The turkey sandwich was smothered with a very salty sauce. The food was loaded with salt . A shame for any restaurant to have such bad food. read more

We just had a pretty nice dinner...nothing fancy, prime rib and broiled haddock entrees that were all cooked properly. Three stars indicates average for what they do: a small town independently-owned diner. This restaurant is nothing special; not a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Basic menu. Had lunch which was good. Premises is a little cramped, dated, & worn. Server was pleasant. read more

My husband and I decided to try this place, as we have lived in Naples since October last year and passed it frequently. We were extremely disappointed. My husband had prime rib that tasted bland and had a salad with French dressing that tasted less flavorful. I had a Greek salad with chicken and a side of macaroni salad (which tasted like elbow pasta with nothing on it). When I ordered, the waitress was like, "You seriously are going to eat that?" I'm 8 months pregnant, I felt insulted that she told me I was eating too much or what I ordered was "weird." After, we gave their ice cream a chance. My husband got a chocolate milkshake that was clearly butterscotch and our waitress came back and asked how his chocolate milkshake tasted. It's depressing to see a business run like this, extremely outdated. Will be eating at Redwood next time. Food there is SO much better! read more

Horrible food very basic like my 10 year old could make a better meal. Lots of seniors working there makes you feel so bad for them. It was so basic tasting no one in my family even said a word while eating there. Would not recommend or eat there again. read more

I don't know where to start but I will try.....I asked for some recommendations from the waitress who replied "everything is good here." That probably should have been the first red flag. Needless to say everything was absolutely horrendous. I have been all over the world and I've never had a worse meal. I can see why this place shares a parking lot with a cemetery because I almost died after walking outta there. I legit had to pull over a block down the road and gag myself. Deplorable is an understatement...... read more
