Called Ted and he came over to League City to check out dead in the water boat. Informed us that motor needed to be replaced. Excellent job. Kept us informed all through replacement . Did replacement in a timely manner. Listen to what we could afford. Sent us pictures. Stands behind his work. Boat is running excellent. Hopefully we will not need his services for awhile . Marine Mayday is IQ boats with a name change. Ted is still the same guy and I would recommend to stay away from him. He lies and charges for his lies to boot. My experience with him is by far the worst experience I have had with any business. I brought him a boat I was looking at and asked one simple question. "Is the motor good?" A few days later he said "yes", but there were a few problems that would only take a few weeks to rectify. Five months later he says to me..."The motor is bad..you need to replace it". Which contradicted my very first question.."Is it good?" You see Ted used that 5 months to rack up another bill. He never once checked the engine in the beginning when I asked and paid him to. I have a 25ft deck boat and needed a service repair tech to look at some electrical and mechanical problems I was having. Due to these issues I was not able to bring my boat to a place to have it looked at. I needed someone to come to me. I called Ted and left a message. He came 1 day later. I knew nothing about Ted, his technical abilities or Mayday Marine IQ Boats. All I knew was that they had mobile service and could come to me which is what I needed. To make a long story short, Ted fixed all of my electrical and mechanical issues within 4 hours. What gave him the most credibility though was when we had to go to West Marine (Hempstead store) to get new terminal cables and parts for the electrical issue. When we walked in the store, EVERYONE knew him and some of the employees were from the Kemah store. Right there I knew that I had gotten lucky and had called someone who has lots of experience. I really have no complaints. Yes, you will have to pay a little extra to get them to come to you but it was worth not having to bring my boat in which I really didn't have the option of doing anyway.
