ABSOLUTE BEST high viz location in Texas to sell a boat on consignment…read more ABSOLUTE BEST people to do business with, whether you're a Buyer or Seller. I was the purchaser of a beautiful boat on consignment with Action Boat Center. I came over to Kema on the 146 bridge and immediately spotted the next love of my life - the coolest 22 foot bay boat in Texas.(OK remember I'm in love, guys) Action Boat Center had a really cool assortment of great consignment boats - the ultimate candy store. They had taken meticulous care in detailing and fixing this boat to make it ready for sale, and in a manner no owner could likely have done for himself. Though I dealt with owner Ray Guy and his wife Laura, their fine son, Kyle, took me through the process to its conclusion, deftly and quickly bringing Buyer and Seller together. Protecting the Seller's confidences, they were totally able to convince me my position as a Buyer was of great importance to them also. For several days after they had me agreeing to the deal, they continued to upgrade and make MANY improvements on an already great boat - for instance adding a salt water washdown hose, replacing a tired looking jack plate switch and corroded snaps on cushions, testing and retesting a myriad of ALL electrical circuits and functions to confirm condition and reliability ... and detailing and more detailing. They checked on accidents and insurance claims on the boat as well as repair history. They checked engine compression with me, tested the gas and installed a water separator/filter which amazingly was not on the boat previously. They printed the original factory manual for the boat. They were never too busy to take my calls, and I guarantee I'm capable of feeling like I'm the only person that matters in this world when something's on my mind. They more than strongly suggested a thorough test of the boat on the water. During the test, we checked to MY SATISFACTION every facet of the boat's trailering (like the electrical, the hitch, surge disc brakes of stainless steel) and checked the boat's performance and handling, the trim tabs, jack plate, tilt and trim, I-Pilot trolling motor with Garmin GPS, all radios, GPS/fishfinder, fresh and saltwater washdowns, battery systems and battery charging system, lights, stereo, ..... and I can't remember more, but there was a lot more. So thanks Ray, Laura, Kyle and staff - I trusted you because you earned it, and you are a really nice family to do important business with. It sure appears to me the Seller was treated very well also when I found out the fee structure. As an aside and by coincidence, one of my closest friends sold his fine boat through Action and was very happy about the experience. So again, here's to another VERY WORTHY small business that I hope is around for a long time to serve us in a world where we may be a little less likely to want strangers off the internet involved in our personal sale of our boat - and Action's location is totally eye-catching. Leave your billfold at home and check out their cool toys.

Cody gave me pro but also cons on different styles and help me narrow down what would be safe for me and be best option for type fishing I wanted. I also liked care after I bought, as Cody gave me training on driving, loading and advice on getting extra gadgets. Other team members great and financing was breeze with Seth giving me lot options on warranties, insurance.

They lost my credit app and I waited three days before they realized they didn't have it even though I filled it out right in front of the salesperson. The boat has axle grease all over the trailer and fenders. The boat was listed at $26995 and I was told by their salesperson that that boat was gone but they had one just like it for $27995. The extra grand was for the repairs I knew nothing about that needed to be done to the trailer. Now I'm being told it was a consignment confusion issue. The truth would have been so much better from the beginning. Not a good buying experience at all. They also do not respond to messages. Be sure to read the reviews for this company and ask lots of questions. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Just look at their reviews.

I told them the boat was in Mississippi and they said no problem, they could use the old dodger as a template. Four or five months later I get the dodger and try to install it. It was way too small in all respects. I returned it and over six months later after repeated promises to make necessary repairs nothing. I asked for a refund and they just keep promising to fix it. Will have to go to small claims court now to get my money back. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

They were extremely helpful when we brought in a shredded spinnaker taking the time to lay it out…read morein the loft and giving us a practical prognosis that is was not worth fixing. They then were nice enough to cut the gear off of the sail for us, that way we could re-use it. Where Banks gets the biggest star deductions is for the work they did on a sail cover for our catamaran. Even their own guys who put the cover on the boat acknowledged that: * They normally measure for new sail covers, rather than re-making a nearly identical bag that ultimately didn't fit very well. * They normally put two zippers on the front of the cover, that way there is not flapping cloth while the sail is up. They only put one zipper on our cover. * The straps they put on were basically useless, due to the length. Lastly, the sails the cleaned could have been cleaner and they did not ask what color we wanted for the sun cover they re-did on our jib. We would have had it match our sail cover if they would have asked. Due to Banks' lack of foresight and in some instances to even lacking common sense on behalf of the customer, I am giving Banks Sails 3-stars.
