ABSOLUTE BEST high viz location in Texas to sell a boat on consignment. ABSOLUTE BEST people to do business with, whether you're a Buyer or Seller. I was the purchaser of a beautiful boat on consignment with Action Boat Center. I came over to Kema on the 146 bridge and immediately spotted the next love of my life - the coolest 22 foot bay boat in Texas.(OK remember I'm in love, guys) Action Boat Center had a really cool assortment of great consignment boats - the ultimate candy store. They had taken meticulous care in detailing and fixing this boat to make it ready for sale, and in a manner no owner could likely have done for himself. Though I dealt with owner Ray Guy and his wife Laura, their fine son, Kyle, took me through the process to its conclusion, deftly and quickly bringing Buyer and Seller together. Protecting the Seller's confidences, they were totally able to convince me my position as a Buyer was of great importance to them also. For several days after they had me agreeing to the deal, they continued to upgrade and make MANY improvements on an already great boat - for instance adding a salt water washdown hose, replacing a tired looking jack plate switch and corroded snaps on cushions, testing and retesting a myriad of ALL electrical circuits and functions to confirm condition and reliability ... and detailing and more detailing. They checked on accidents and insurance claims on the boat as well as repair history. They checked engine compression with me, tested the gas and installed a water separator/filter which amazingly was not on the boat previously. They printed the original factory manual for the boat. They were never too busy to take my calls, and I guarantee I'm capable of feeling like I'm the only person that matters in this world when something's on my mind. They more than strongly suggested a thorough test of the boat on the water. During the test, we checked to MY SATISFACTION every facet of the boat's trailering (like the electrical, the hitch, surge disc brakes of stainless steel) and checked the boat's performance and handling, the trim tabs, jack plate, tilt and trim, I-Pilot trolling motor with Garmin GPS, all radios, GPS/fishfinder, fresh and saltwater washdowns, battery systems and battery charging system, lights, stereo, ..... and I can't remember more, but there was a lot more. So thanks Ray, Laura, Kyle and staff - I trusted you because you earned it, and you are a really nice family to do important business with. It sure appears to me the Seller was treated very well also when I found out the fee structure. As an aside and by coincidence, one of my closest friends sold his fine boat through Action and was very happy about the experience. So again, here's to another VERY WORTHY small business that I hope is around for a long time to serve us in a world where we may be a little less likely to want strangers off the internet involved in our personal sale of our boat - and Action's location is totally eye-catching. Terrible experience! Do not buy a boat from Action Marine Kemah. Our family was sold a boat that we were told was in "perfect" condition. This was not the case!!! One month later and we still are unable to use the boat. We've asked to have the boat returned or fixed, yet...we're still waiting for a resolution. My husband had plans to start a fishing charter company and because of their dishonesty this dream has not come to fruition. Action Marine Kemah has cost our family thousands of dollars in lost revenue during the holiday season. We are very disappointed, frustrated and angry. Ray is a super guy. Asked about a boat he had there on his lot and he asked what price range I was in. Was asking a considerable amount more than I was willing to pay. He made it happen. Got me an excellent deal on a custom T-top, his guys installed the lights for me, repaired a few electrical problems and really overall was a good experience. Definitely recommend. read more

If your wanting to sell your boat, steer clear of this place and save yourself months of time. If your buying a boat, WHOLE other story, they will be happy to take your money. My boat sat with them for 6 months, never took a client out on the water for a test drive. I always had to call them to check status, and recommend they get it out on the water. Thank you Action Boat Center! Ray Guy and his wife Laura are the owners. I was really impressed with how they operated. It was a no pressure deal and Ray made sure we had the right fit boat for our family. Ray encouraged a sea trial to make sure everything was in working order (some smaller shops don't encourage a sea trial). He added a Bimini into the deal and even went a step further by ordering stainless to match the hardware. This is going above and beyond to make sure we were happy. He has a yard worker named Miguel who did an awesome job detailing the boat. He brought the shine right back. Horrible horrible experience..... parts were removed from my boat probably used to help sell another boat. Boat was full of trash from the lot. When I picked the boat back up he didn't have the key. When my buddy went to look at the boat the salesman steered him away from my boat towards something else on the lot. Terrible place if your looking to sell your boat....if I could less than one star I would..do NOT RECOMMEND this place.!!!! read more

We noticed a used brokerage boat for sale as we were driving by and decided to stop. Anthony the sales representative greeted us quickly and with no pressure allowed us to crawl all over the vessel. We had sold a similar boat last year and missed it so we already knew what we were looking for. We were ready to make a cash offer and were introduced to Ray and Laura Guy, the owners of ABC.
