Ordered the tropical Mahi wrap and it was a decent amount of fish inside the wrap with some standard lettuce and tomatoes and sauces that go along with wraps. It comes on a plate that's drizzled in this balsamic vinaigrette which compliments the wrap really well, but it also makes the wrap a bit messy to eat since the paper also gets covered in the stickiness. The mojito was nice and strong, and they use paper straws = win/win We came here for an early dinner at 5pm and were seated on the 2nd floor of the restaurant which provides a great view of Luquillo beach and a nice breeze (that can sometimes blow away your napkins and trash so be careful!). We tried to come here again the following night for dinner around 7:45pm but they had already stopped seating at this time because of the curfew. This is a pretty popular spot in Luquillo so make sure you come on the earlier side if you want to get seated! read more

Dinner at Boardriders was the worst part of our 6 day stay in Puerto Rico. Everything else was great. I have a hard time even giving one star. It started with not getting service timely at the table to even order our drinks. The live music was way too loud and not good. But that was. Only the beginning. There were 5 in our party and only two got there meals within 10 minutes. The next 3 meals came more than 15 minutes later and that was after trying to find the waiter several times. When we did find him, he could care less and made it seem like we were the issue. The food was mediocre at best so that didn't make up for the any of the shortfalls. Also, although it is right near the water, the strip was loud and noisy and there were several folks "cruising by" multiple times in their loud vehicles. For my entree I had the mahi fish tacos and they were sooooooo good! I put the rest of my jalapeño pineapple sauce on my tacos because I'm extra. This place is located near the beautiful Luquillo beach, so the views are amazing from this restaurant. We had a Baja Bowl ($8) and Mahi Tacos ($9) and everything tasted delicious. Pretty cool little spot in Luquillo. It's located in front of the ocean so you have wonderful beach views should you choose to enjoy them. They also have a 2nd level which we did not take advantage but I'm told the view from there is spectacular. I started of with the guava colada. Yes, an interesting choice but I figured I've consumed so many piña coladas why not give this version a try. It was nice and sweet delight. If you Louie piña coladas, you'll enjoy the guava colada. We also enjoyed some hummus and chicken wings. More than enough for the table. As a matter of fact, we had to ask for more pita break as there was so much hummus. And it was all delightful. So the first time I went was in the afternoon. We ordered the guava ribs and chicken, and a medium rare burger. All food was technically prepared wonderfully. On the negative side my ribs came out very cold, even though it was fall off the bone. The waiter took my entire plate to warm up the ribs. By time he came back my wings and onion rings weren't hot anymore. Guava sauce would be good on something light like seafood. The guava flavor was so mild for the ribs or chicken. I kept saying to myself, this needs seasoning. I didn't like my margarita, but no one came to ask. Service was super slow even though it was not busy and my waiters were eating lunch behind the bar relaxing. Second visit was on a Friday night with live music, a huge crowd with dancing, and delicious pina coladas. I loved it. Definitely a Friday night spot. You can't beat the location on Loquillo Beach. The amazing surf and that beautiful coastline fill you with awe. The place is funky and hip and an homage to surfers and boogie boarders. I like the decor. The staff are friendly and very efficient. The place is clean even though the building looks really beat up. We ordered one of the burgers and the skirt steak sandwich without the bun, a side salad made to order and pesto rice. That rice was money!! Never had it and will make it myself. If that rice and steak and burger was cooked to perfection. They botched the order for my friend and gave fries when she didn't want them. The bathroom area could use a proper door for the area. But they were clean. They need to put the paper towels near the sink to dry hands. They have an inside seating space and outdoor space with great views. read more

The food was fine after the standard Puerto Rican wait. The location is amazing, with ocean views from our table and the staff was friendly. After our meal we had to wait for our check while the waiter flirted with a table of female tourists, not a huge deal when you are on vacation, but when we got our checks (two couples, separate checks), both of them had extra items added that we did not order. And, they were items we never ordered as well. If left as they were we would have paid an extra $15.00 on one check alone. After bringing it to the attention of our waiter he walked away and did nothing until we got up and demanded it be fixed. Great view from the second floor and the staff is friendly/attentive, but that's where the good ends. Food is very slow to come out. Like half an hour plus for a burger and a pulled pork sandwich. The burger was overcooked and just didn't taste that great, like the ground beef I had at a high school cafeteria. The buns were low end, packaged grocery store stuff. And the sweet potato fries (side item, not included with sandwiches) were clearly from freezer bag. The food was okay by tourist trap standards, but given the price and how long we had to wait, not really worth it considering all the other great options in the area. It is definitely​ a local​ hang out with everyone knowing each other​ but also being warm and welcoming to newcomers. The painkillers were exactly that! Plenty of rum with the right combination of coconut, pineapple and orange juice. This place is relaxed and casual with wonderful views of the water and the local surf class. HUNGRY LARGE GROUPS BEWARE: we had a group of 8 which is not normally that large, we put our name down and grabbed a drink, fully expecting to wait 45min to an hour for a table. 2.5 hours later on a Monday night we had no table in sight as we watched small group after small group go in and no sign of a table. We mentioned to the manager that a large table of people had gone in after us and were told that they were arriving one by one so we had to wait. We were excited to sit outside by the water and enjoy our food but left disappointed and hungry as the management team and service was as horrendous. This was our favorite place in luquillo! It was walking distance from our Airbnb so we were here every night. We got the mexi burger and fish tacos and both were bomb!!!!! Decided to give this place a try as a brunch spot on our last day on the island. Boardriders is a casual beachside bar and restaurant with direct open-air views of the ocean. We got a table on the outside of the bar where we could watch, hear and almost taste the crashing waves in front of us. Our meal was a mix of breakfast and lunch choices, and everyone enjoyed their choices. The was a crab cake benedict, pancakes, chopped salad and a burger.
