I have passed US Brand for years and may have stopped in when it was an "Oriental Furniture Outlet" or a mattress wholesaler, I really can't remember. Whatever it was doesn't really matter, US Brand is a converted industrial garage stuffed to the rafters with furniture. Surprisingly the staff is very low key and allows you to catch your breath and get the lay of the land without descending like vultures on a wounded mongoose (very much appreciated BTW.) Unfortunately, their furniture inventory is not our style. Lots of laminate, white leather, sprawling Diamonique chandeliers and copious use of gold inlays. It felt more like an estate sale for the last Gabor sister or perhaps, Imelda Marcos. Obviously, this casino maximus style must sell but today was not the day to channel my inner Wayne Newton. Four stars for the very relaxed sales environment. Given the furniture jackals elsewhere, that's no small compliment.

A perfect example of lots of things that I want and almost nothing that I NEED. But that makes it such a fun shop and kind of perfect for gifts!  The store is so well laid out that even with so many small and little things out on display, it is still somehow not overwhelming or messy. I've stopped in a few times and either myself or the person I am with needs to get one or two things. On my last visit, I finally caved and got myself an actual matcha whisk and stand, so no more coffee frothing (or subpar matcha making) for me. I've also gotten a really beautiful and sleek pair of chopsticks before, and have my eye on a few other things that I will save for future visits.  The woman that is usually there behind the register is kind and polite without making you feel like you need to get something. In fact, she really is the opposite of some shops that are on top of you as you browse and walk around.  It is on the expensive side. The whisk and stand came out to $30+, but where else do you find such a unique and curated store? Worth it every once and awhile, I'd say.  Happy shopping!

Yosma picked out the closest matches from current earring display and sent me photos to choose, added a handwritten note and arranged the postage to my pal. We ordered 38 boxes and had to throw away 40% of the product as the quality was so botched up. We were told millrun should only have 10% bad product. We ended up having to purchase an extra 8 boxes to finish the job when we should have had a decent amount left over from our original order. Our end result was not what we wanted as it has defects that we had to live with. I will end up getting splinters from what should be a brand new 3/8 wood flooring.
