Then suggested I just sell the truck because it was 7 years old and "getting old". When I brought it back once again still shifting terribly, Ralph then said he'll put me on "a list" if I didn't pay for more "repairs". Huh? My experience was an entire scam. There's a reason their transmission warranty is only 360 days. Buyer beware.

Yesterday, my car's transmission got stuck in second gear and the check engine light came on. I took my car back to the same shop, not under warranty, so they could tell me what was wrong with it and how much would cost to fix. I was preparing myself to get the bad news. They check my car and found they only had to replace a sensor and a fuse. They quickly fix my car and charged me under $40. Nice to know there is a mechanic's shop that is honest and knows what they are doing. If you have a problem with a transmission, I would highly recommend this shop.

My personal mechanic told me not to buy my truck because of the high miles and predicted a…read moresoon-to-be-expected rebuilt transmission which could cost thousands of dollars. So what do you think I did? I fell in love with the truck and bought it anyways. So two years down the road and close to 200,000 miles later, I did follow my mechanic's suggestion that I drive it to AAMCO Transmission to get an estimate. Three weeks later (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5), and many days of frustration and anxiety, I drove it out feeling like I had a new truck. I waited two weeks to write this review while I drove it hard for 1,200 miles. It still runs like a brand new truck! The frustration and anxiety was in the communication, through no fault of the service manager, Victor Ramos: More and more repairs were necessary and each time the phone rang and I saw it was him, my stomach would turn. However, he would communicate with detailed photos emailed to me of finding broken parts and necessary repair discoveries which were honest and verified by my personal mechanic who would reply "I told you so" each time I double checked Victor's diagnosis. This resulted in a longer time period of living without my beloved old truck. Bottom line, my Ford F150 got a rebuilt transmission, an oil change with new nonleaking oil pan, new spark plugs in all 8 cylinders using the special tool required to remove the old ones, a new timing chain kit which had a part break off inside the oil pan (I have pics from Victor to prove it), and a reduced price in the labor costs. They also offered a loan with great terms to help pay for this. The whole cost was under $3,500 which I consider a bargain when I now drive my truck. Their work is under warranty for a year. I cannot tell you how nervous I got when my daughter brought up the previous negative yelp reviews. I hope this one will be considered to offset the bad reviews. I am totally happy with my truck now. I will update this in a few months if my truck has any problems.

Though the price was low, I wanted to have someone inspected the underbelly so the project wouldn't have any unexpected surprises. After a thorough research on Yelp. I chose these guys. Lucky me. Turns out they know a lot of folks that my fiends and I know. We are one big family. I explained the situation and told them that my friends were great people and wanted to do the right thing. Sadly, the inspection revealed some surprises that were more than I wanted to take on. My friends swung by and were treated with first class service. With the truck on the lift, several of the hidden issues revealed themselves. Thankfully, they have a great 2nd option. I…read morewas helped by Victor who is a knowledgeable and patient guy, after a couple of weeks deciding the best way forward I chose to pay out of my pocket instead of using the insurance. Victor asked me to drop off the car on Monday 12/07 and the next morning I got the first updates, they sent me a link with a bunch of photos and notes of what they did to that point. Another part was needed so this may have delayed the process by a day, so yesterday 12/10 I got a call from Victor saying that the car was going to be ready before the end of the day, around 2pm I got a text and a phone call from Yani saying that the car was ready. I checked the link and it was a new photo showing the car completed. When I arrived to pick up and pay I got a total of $1475 (which was shown in the last update received) but I had an estimate of $1030, I understand when you are working with insurance you send them a "preliminary work" and then you can add a few or several "supplemental" and the insurance usually pays them, but this money was coming out of my pocket, so I was definitely expecting the $1,030 figure or a little less... all in all Victor explained to me the extra work done and reduced a bit the final number. Conclusion: I'm a hard person to please type of guy, I believe they did a really good job, the 3 days to finish the work is appropriate and the way they kept me informed with calls and photos is top notch! I highly recommend them, just be open to pay a bit more than originally expected...
