The best part about Deanna's cakes/tarts/desserts--they not only look amazing, but the taste is out of this world! A few years ago, my friends and I were obsessed with irish car bombs. No we weren't alcoholics, we just enjoyed the flavors of the Guiness and chocolate. As my birthday surprise, my friend asked Deanna to come up with something amazing. When he got to my house, imagine my surprise when I found a green bomb with little leprechauns surrounding it! And after I blew out the candle, we cut into it and it had the perfect blend of flavors! It tasted like chocolate + Guiness--just like a real Irish Car Bomb! Since that party, I've enjoyed lots of other cakes from Deanna-- a cake shaped like a tooth to celebrate a friend entering dental school... a sushi cake (because we had a sushi themed party)... you name it and Deanna's creativity oozes out. Deanna is definitely one of the most creative people I've ever met and I love ordering cakes from Artistic Bites!

I first contacted Nicolen over a month prior to my good friends baby shower. The cake I ordered was the center of the dessert table and I was excited when I found the perfect Starwars cake. Nicolen agreed she could make the cake. To make it easier I said just characters heads and to make it blue instead of pink since it was for a boy. Lastly, I paid extra for the R2D2 head. I knew something was wrong when I had to to touch-base and remind her about the cake. Nicolen reassured me that the cake would be ready and asked if she could drop it off early the day of the party. My friend who was pregnant at the time was up early to receive the cake which never came that morning. Because the party had already started I got nervous about the cake. Nicolen's lack of communication and delay of the cake was not that way I pictured her customer service to be. The cake arrived late and delivered by her sister who would not even look at me. When the cake arrived I couldn't believe it! I paid over $100 for this? The cake came lope sided and about to fall over. The characters I requested to be made out of fondant were PRINTED! YES PRINTED out of white computer paper and placed on the cake!!! Nicolen later texted me she was busy with Mother's Day orders. If you were busy please be transparent to your customers. I could of easily cancelled and took my business else where. This was my friends FIRST baby shower and I wanted a beautiful cake. I was embarrassed because I was bragging about how amazing this cake was going to be.. instead what was delivered was the joke of a life time! After the party, I have tried to reach out to Nicolen by text, email and even Instagram to try to understand what happened. Nicolen has ignored everyone of my messages and has never responded to me. There is some additional praise worthy speciality in this region. I am just getting started about the cake and its unique flavor. I usually don't wait until the last minute to book the all important cake but I contacted Will on a Monday for a birthday party for Saturday May the twenty fifth. A holiday weekend no less! But Will was available so we decided to book him and since we reside close to Will in Castro Valley it seemed like a great idea. We talked about cake size (we chose a half sheet) and discussed flavors. My son wanted a chocolate marble cake and we added a fresh strawberry filling. Will wanted an idea as to design for the cake and we emailed him a photo of what we might want. But Will had a different idea as to cake design of having the game itself be the decoration. My husband and I trusted Will's vision for the cake but told him the important elements of the cake. My son really wanted Darth Vader and the Death Star Pig as the main elements of the cake. We agreed on a pick up time and waited for Saturday morning. We were not disappointed at all! The cake looked and tasted great! The design was so beautiful too! Will even honored our request of a "not too sweet" cake. It tasted as good as it looked. And for a decorated half sheet with fresh strawberries with marble cake was only $ 60.00! Wow what a deal! You can see the cake of Baptista Baking page on Facebook. It is the Angry Birds Star Wars Cake. Thank you Will for a five star cake and service.
