I would never recommend the parlour to ANYONE. Worst experience of my life, no doubt!! The owner…read moreElle met me for a consult, I was going from 4yo dreadlocks to 'normal hair'- a BIG step. She told me she wanted to brush it out, as apposed to cutting them all out.. Long story short -It end it ended up taking longer than she had expected and she was apologizing-asked me to come back the next day. I paid her for the work she had quoted and tiped her generously. She cancelled the next day, knowing I had an event planned that weekend-said she didn't have enough time and I'd have to reschedule. She didn't have a single care..probably because I had already paid her. I literally looked like some China doll a 2yo got at w/scissors, it was the worst JOKE- but no joke. I had to go crying to my friends and have them gang up on my hair to help me finish it. And when I looked into what she did do- she literally had only cut the tips off, wet it down, filled it with conditioner and then halfway brushed out 8 of the 23 dreads I had. She totally ripped me off, and did it with a smile.

I decided to try another salon to see if they had any suggestions. Andi listened to what I wanted and what I had experienced and then proceeded to explain the proper way it should be done. Even though this was first appointment and she had not expected to spend the extra time coloring my hair, she did. It turned out exactly like I wanted. Andi then explained what we would need to do to maintain the color. I highly recommend Andi and The Parlour.

She closed down the salon. Since then, Kamy had been the only one who has done my hair. I was beyond thrilled when she opened Mon Petit. Life takes ya places and even through moving hours and then states away for the past 3 years, I have still made it a priority to come to Kamy. I would never think of having anyone else do my hair!! She is a complete gem and has the true knack for cutting the perfect shape for every individual. Hair changes with life and she keeps it what you need at that time. Truly listens and customizes it for your needs. It's important when choosing a stylist that you choose someone with a natural ability to pick the right cut for the type of hair you have, the right color for your skin tone and style for the face shape and personality. Kamy nails it. She is truly an artist. The experience Kamy gives is worth every single penny. I am honored to call her my stylist and color extradionaire and friend. You will not be disappointed. I always get tons of compliments on my hair. The beauty of Kamy's art is that every visit is custom for every client. There is not a "one cut fits all" approach as found in other salons. I honestly trust her with the most up to date styles and color trends and just tell her to go for it! She has never disappointed. Trust with a salon and stylist is #1 and very hard to find. A rare gem!! Mon Petit is an adorable, quaint salon with a calming atmosphere. I know Kamy's team is amazing and you will be thrilled with the outcome of any service you choose. Overall Pompadours has a crew of very competent hairstylists for a fair price. Unfortunately, they…read morehave a couple problems. The worst is when you specifically ask for certain specific services in order to contain costs, ie, I am over paying $300, so I specify a cut and partial highlights but then the gal adds easily a whole other color of partial highlights and I'm sitting wondering.... Why are you doing this? Oh you must be throwing me some freebies? Because I was very clear and specific about what I wanted ....Wait, that's now a LOT of highlights and what, I'm being up charged ?? Shady business! The other thing I notice is they don't listen well to what I ask for in other ways too- they are like many other hairdressers in that they end up doing what they are most comfortable doing and what they think looks good -ie a bit cookie cutter. It's then up to you to fix it up but later if you feel you can ( sometime I can sometimes I can't!) lol. To be fair- they are on the whole excellent at what they do and again- the prices are fair when they stick to them. And their problems are actually not uncommon to many many salons out there! One gal was bit attitudey with me once but overall, this place is a good resource for getting quality in a kind of popular, middle of the road look that the hairdresser wants to give you.
